Cant save or open videos or downloads

if some one sends me a file or video , i am using mozilla firefox, cant open it or save but I go to my internet explorer and it will play or save the file

Thanks so much, I've been banging my head against the wall for several days now thinking, was it something I did, reinstalling like five times, getting chewed at by my supervisor because the project wasn't completed, etc.... and all along it was Shapeshifter. I was about to call it quits and do the project in after effects, but thanks to your post I can still streamline the motion graphics portion of the project with FCP and Motion. I meant skipping iPhoto to start with, so when you get that message close out of iPhoto and look on the desktop and see if the icon is there for the camera. Then dig in and find the videos and drag one to the iPhoto icon in the Dock, thereby relaunching it. Might not work - you might get the same error message. If so, try dragging a movie onto the desktop and changing the name to .MOV instead of .AVI and dropping that onto iPhoto.

Which game or video did you expect it to open? What is your OS, browser and plugin version? And please stop shouting - it doesn't help.

If you have not provided access, you can do so by going to default Settings app > Privacy > Photos and switch ON Game Your Video.
Game Your Video saves all videos to its own library. To sync to Camera Roll, simply go to Library and tap on Multiple selection button. Now select the videos to copy and tap on Sync button in the bottom bar. (See screenshot attached)
But you still have some issues, just email it to their support team: [email protected]
Also update the app. Game Your Video 2.0 is available on the App Store.

Having the same problem. Click mail, it bounces, a quick flash, then nothing. Also as a side note, Entourage as of this morning will no longer send mail to either of my work accounts, that is why I was trying mail. Also tried several other mail programs and the same result, can receive mails, but not send.
Have reset the router, cable modem, checked that I have the latest MS and Apple software loaded and it is all good. Very strange.

How can I save a file in the Downloads folder and automatically have it opened?

Often, I'd like to download a file, save it to my Downlaods folder and have it opened right away.
Currently, you can only decide between the two options "open" or "save to...". There's seemlingly no way Firefox can do both at once.
I know I can download it, open the downloads manager and open it manually. But when working with over a dozen documents a day, that doesn't quite do the trick.
In Chrome, you only have to click twice: Once for downloading and once for opening it from the download bar on the bottom of the screen. You do not have to open a download manager.

I know that you can save and open a document by performing these three steps:
1. Confirming to save a file to the Downloads folder
2. Open the download manager by clicking the temporarily green arrow
3. Clicking on the downloaded file
What I would like to know is whether or not it is possible to have Firefox open a saved file ''automatically''. At the moment, if I choose to open it automatically, it is only saved to my temp folder.

In Firefox Options / Privacy be sure "Remember download history" is checked. To see all of the options on that panel, "Firefox will" must be set to "Use custom settings for history".

I could access ALL of my photos back then but when I try and access them now I cant seem to open the file. When i open iphoto and open the folder thats on it, i can see ALL the photos that are there but when I click on different ones some appear in the larger screen but A LOT of them dont appear. Iphoto seems to have erased the file or I dont know.
Also I tried clicking on the photo that doesnt appear and making it "Reveal it on finder" - "original file" and it says 'The operation can’t be completed because the item can’t be found.".
I really want those photos because they involve a really special family vacation, please help me find those photos

Assuming you are using Safari ...
Quit Safari.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab. Click: Delete All
Now uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Make sure to uninstall the currently installed Flash plugin first.
Launch Safari From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
Now try a video.
BTW... if you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to: Open in 32 bit mode is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.

My current version of Chrome is having problems, too! It's so annoying. Anyone have any suggestions now? I basically can't view or download any PDFs because of this.
Does anyone else think this is a problem not only with Adobe? I would think Apple would have something to do with this? Either get a screen cleaning cloth, or carefully us a slightly damp lint-free cloth and dry off with a dry link-=free cloth.
As to Flash Videos: I am in a similar same boat. I cannot watch flash videos on the BBC website or on BBC iPlayer, although all other flash videos (YouTube and FaceBook for example) are fine.
For reasons that passeth all understanding, they work with the PPC version of Firefox, called TenFourFoxG5.app, once you have anabled plug-ins, as it does not natively support Flash.

Now for the intersting bit: TenFourFox, like Firefox, does not support most plug-ins. Unless you are prone to headaches (in which case don't) you can read about that here:

But there is a workaround!
Open TenFourFox and type in the address bar: about:config (no spaces) and click return. This gives you a warning that it might harm the application. Ignore that and click on 'I'll be careful, I promise' and you get the config file that you can edit - with great care.
Look/search (scroll down) for: tenfourfox.plugins.enabled
Set it to true. (Double click it to toggle it)
Now close TenFourFox, open it again, and Flash will now work, as it now uses the plug-ins that Safari has stored.
I am using Flash 10.1.102.64 in TenFourFox and it works just fine.
