Cant see an album
Hi guys
I'm using 11.0.1 on 10.8.2
Today I added a one direction cd for my daughter.
I cant get the album to come up in a search.
It does appear in the search list but you cannot see it in albums or artists.
I know its there as its in my recently added playlist and obviously its in itunes in finder.
Any idea's I have never had this problem before. I added it on my old macbook (backup) 2007 and it worked fine.
I have managed to add it to my daughters playlist from the recently added one but as I say its not appearing in the main library.
I even tried re importing from finder.
I read a tip that said drag it from recently added to music and this did not work.
Hoping for help.

Trying to find out how to get compilations to appear as one album and not broken up into several in the display.
Only help on line appears very very old for version 7/8 nothing for version 11.
"Help" does not help.
Old on line article says to mark as compilation but this option does not show in version 11. itunes.Tried to work with the CTRL+I and sort fields.
Entered all the data, took over an hour. No joy still wont display some songs as albums.
Tried selecting all and ticking the sort fields. Deleted all the data I just entered.
Ouch.
Already finding Apple product unfreindly and expensive best solution may be to go the a player that works instead.
Considerig alternative hardware, s/w used by other family memebers without this kind of frustration. -
I cant see purchased albums in itunes 10.3
I need to re-download my purchases but there is no icon to allow me to download them in the new iTunes 10.3 - I even purchased an additional single tto see if this activated the the Music icons.... this http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519 doesnt work on my Win7 64 bit app!!! Help?

Just found this - I undertand now. So having dowloaded tunes onto my iPod touch version 4 - and synching. I have no way of re-downloading them in the UK! My IPodtouch developed an error and needed to be re-initialised and I thought that synching would have kept copies on the PC. No it didn't - I should have backed them up - Drat!!!!!! Back to the mercy of the iTunes Store Customer Service I suppose.

If you didn't make a back-up of your music/movie purchases to restore from (as you are advised to do) then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Products may only be downloaded once; after being downloaded, they cannot be replaced if lost for any reason. Once a Product is purchased or rented (as applicable) and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage" iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
If you have an iPod that still has any of your purchases on it you'll find details in this article on how to transfer them to the computer: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
Purchased applications can be downloaded over again, see this article for details: How to redownload purchased applications from the App Store
Failing this, you could try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. Pls Help Best and Kind RegardsDepending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then see if it shows under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunee. If it shows there but doesn't have the clpud symbol against it for redownloading then is that track listed in the Music part of your library i.e. where you would click on it to play it ? If it is then delete it from there and it should then get the cloud symbol against it in Purchased.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com . iTunes Support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours.

everything is sorted by artist too - which is great until I want to find and play an album that has various artists

When converting the iPhoto library to Photo most of the albums that were in place in iPhoto converted to albums in Photo . . . .but not all. Some were retained as events mainly those that were folders within an album. In order to move them to the right album I would like to have multiple albums open at the same time (side by side) so that I can make sure not to duplicate photos or move them to the wrong spot.
I cant see how to do this, it seems that I can need to open one album and check phots and then close to look within and other and rely on memory. Jimfirst of all, no one is going to respond to this becuase limewire is used basically in your situation illegally. But let's say you import a cd, left click on the songs you imported and hit get album artwork, if nothing comes up, the album sn't in the itunes database, get it online. And I suggest never to mention limewire and music files on the same post here, since limewire is a file sharing program. Use Itunes, it's easier. theo

Why i cant see the artist covers in music app, i just see a letters ?
this is very important to me cause im adicted of music (sorry for my englis) but i cant see my covers or the itunes covers in the music app! if i selec ARTIST just apear a letters that say the album name ! oh my god i really upset with that cause all my music is extremely order! I am sorry to hear you are having problems with your PlayDigital orders, PlayDigital orders are downloaded to iTunes, so are used in this specific format. If iTunes is Unavailable on the iPad, this may not be able to be downloaded onto this.
Implying, I think, that when iTunes is installed, it is possible?

cant see photos on icloud
Not meant to display your Photos on iCloud. It is meant to setup Photostream so that when you take a new snapshot on one device and through icloud, that photo will appear on Photostream album on all Devices and your computer(if you have iCloud control panel installed on your computer)

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

The reason you see the same photos is that they are just differerent ways to view the same photos. In the broadest view, they are organized by year. If you "zoom" into a year, you will view them by "collections", which are only a month or two. Zoom into a collection and you will see "moments", which is the shortest time period. If you don't like viewing your photos this way you can always tap Albums at the bottom, the tap Camera Roll and you will see you photos as they were in iOS 6. None of this means you have duplicate photos, they are just different ways to see the same photos.
as i said, i prefer to backup pics and videos to my pc and to the cloud only apps data (like recordings of stuff)

You can do that by importing them to your computer using your usb cable and and turning off the camera roll in your backup options (in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>tap your device under Backups>turn of Camera Roll under Backup Options). As fromsouth said, this will not delete anything from your phone, it will just prevent the camera roll from being included in your iCloud backup. And you will not see the reduction in your iCloud storage until you back up with these new settings a few times (or delete your existing backup and back up again). -
Cant see my airplay icon, cant use my remote app on either of my devices

I have the gen 3 apple TV and somehow i can no longer airplay, from my mac book pro, ipad, ipad mini or iphone. It used to work on all of my devices and now I cant see the icon.
When I open my remote app it tells me that I have to turn on Home sharing on my itunes or apple tv. It is turned on, on all of my devices.
I have been trying to trouble shoot this issue (all of my devices have the latest updates) and I still cant use my remote or air play
Any suggestions on how to fix this?I was able to fix the issue by unpluging the apple tv, router, and modem all for about 2-3 minutes and then replugging them in

I keep pictures in Albums, specifically by year and then other topic albums. As a result some pictures are in several albums. Sometimes they are assigned in error. I used to be able to click on a picture and see not only the tags but the albums associated with the picture. How can I see which albums are assigned to a picture?
Are you referring to the yellow text box that pops up like this?
