Cant see BT HomeHub Wireless

Hi
My newly installed BT home hub was working on Monday. On Tuesday my partner said he couldnt connect to the Internet. I checked today.
From Win Vista I can not see my wireless connection to BT home hub (bthomehub.home) but I can see and connect to my BTOpenzone/Fon connection. When I refresh to list of wireless connections only the BTOpenZone appears. I can see my homehub from my ipod touch though.
There has been many Windows updates installed on Monday and it looks like my BT Fon has been activated on Tuesday.

802.11 N has a wider radius and a faster speed range but B/G are more robust (more Bang for your buck kinda thing). Im just speculating here but the BTfone might be on the same frequency are the wireless N was set to.
Its one of the reasons i try to use 802.11 A/N instead of G/N.

There are a lot of things that we can consider as to why your wireless network is not able to communicate to the media hub. Take for example AP Isolation on your wireless router. Make sure AP Isolation is disabled on your router so the wireless computer can communicate to the computers on your network. Second is the wireless adapter installed on your wireless computer, make sure it is properly configured. Check if the Clients for Microsoft Network and Support for File and Printer Sharing are enabled on the Properties. Third would be the firewall, there are some firewalls that can be configured to affect only on certain interface whether it's LAN or Wireless.

Wireless sometimes cant see a particular modem

Hi,
Maybe this subject was discussed here before but I couldnt find any related topic. Here is the problem: Sometimes I can reach a particular modem for 3, 4 hours which uses WEP, but after that I lose my connection and even cant see that modem anymore. Infact there is no problem with Networkmanager, I can see other wireless modem but that particular modem wasnt seen by my laptop. How can I fix this problem or which log helps me to figure out problem?

Cant see available wireless networks?

I have two laptops sitting side by side. My computer sees all the available wireless networks broadcasting within range (including my BEFW11S4 4-wired, wireless router). My daughter just turned on her computer for the first time and we are not seeing any "available wireless networks" in range...refresh list doesn't help.
Is there some setting in the computer that I must enable to get her computer to see the wireless networks in range?

sorry....hit the wrong key and it submitted before finishing....
1. Have linked my daughters computer to WEP enabled wireless signal from Linksys router....that is the good news.
2. bad news is that I still don't see the signal listed on the "view available wireless networks list." The message in the window says:
"Windows cannot configure this wireless connection. If you have enabled another program to manage this wireless connection, use that software. If you want Windows to configure this wireless connection, start the Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) service. For information about starting the WZC service, see article 871122 in the Microsoft Knowledge Base on the microsoft.com Web site."
I did disable the Windows Firewall and the Norton Firewall as you instructed.
The wireless card is the "802.11g Mini Card Wireless Adapter"
So, my only problem existing on my daughters computer now is that one can't see the wireless signals in range as the "view available wireless networks" list doesn't display anything. However, she is able to connect at free WiFi in town, is now able to connect to my WEP enabled signal in the house.....that is good.
just one last thing to fix and we will be golden....but I don't know what to try next....
And I just clicked my wireless icon to display networks in range and found 3: 1. my WEP enabled network-Connected; 2. Linksys from a neighbor in range that is not protected and is available to link to...; and 3. A computer-to-computer signal probably from both of these computers sitting on the desk next to each other....
any suggestions on what to try next???

BBM version 6.1.0.49 - my bbm contacts cant see my Dp when i change it (Bold 9900 )

I just bought my blackberry a few days go and I can’t see the display image of BBM contacts and they also cant see mine.
The only time I could see their display image is when they change it.
I tried changing my and they still can’t see it.
I have tried the following
1.       Updated OS to version 7.0.0 bundle 2406
2.       Updated BBM to v6.1.0.49
3.       Registered by BBM via the HRT
Go to Options
Select the Advance Options
Select Host Routing Table
Choose the “BOLD” point
Press your BB menu
Select Register Now
Then it would be showing some message, “Your Handheld registered with the wireless network..”
Restart your BlackBerry devices.
4.       Rebooted & Restarted after each update
5.       Removed the battery and restarted
6. Used Desktop manager to delete and reinstall BBM
7. Downgraded BBM version from 6.1.0.49 to 6.0.032 to 6.0.0.25
8. Downgraded OS system from Version 7 latest to the version 7 before it
9. Deleted and reinstalled app world
10. in fact i have done everything i can possibly think of and still have the same problem and result
At first I thought this would be ok after adding several BBM contacts, but I have added up to 10 contacts today and still cant see their display image and they too cant see mine.
I would really appreciate assistance on this.

Cant see my pc shared files, my shared pc

Hi-- When I connect my mac with a hardwire internet cable my shared pc folders show up under the Shared in a finder window. When I hook up my mac wirelessly through airport extreme, the Shared completely disappears and my shared pc folders are unavailable. I've been through the airport setup utility many times now and cant see what I need to change to get it to let my shared pc folders in.
My pc is on a hard wire connection and the setup utility runs on my mac.

I have the same issue. I guess it's just a setting somewhere, but I can't figure where.
Just to tell you there are other people with the same problem.
If you have any information how to fix it, please post.

Cant see my airport express

Hello, can somebody offer some advice?
I have a PC and a airport express which worked fine originally. They now dont like each other!? The PC seems to recognise the 'apple wireless network' but when using the admin utility (& set up assistant) I cant see my airport express.
Just the dreaded flashing amber light.
Have tried re-installing both my wireless network card and airport software but no luck.
Any advice?

Mac Mini & Roku: Cant see WIFI

Enabled itunes sharing and sharing in firewall settings per Roku directions. Now my Mac Mini cannot see the Linksys-B wifi or for that matter, none of the other 14 wirless networks around me.
Did I flip the wrong switch? Pointers to correct-- how do I get it back online

Apologies for being vague. Here's all of the details I have:
1- Internet was running fine on a closed wifi network with WEP password
2- Got the roku and it couldnt see my closed network.
3- SHut down my linksys and comcast cable modem for 5 mins
4- restart it and now roku can see closed network but not itunes
5- Go to mac mini to enable sharing and probably clicked one too many screens. I clicked sharing in itunes but then went to network and on firewall (which wasnt on originally) I enabled sharing for itunes
6- then under sharing/services/xgrid I selected xgrid and went into Internet toos and selected a couple others and got strange message about if you share internet you may violate terms of ISP and be blocked or somesuch (i was almost through a bottle of cab by then)
7- Realizing my over zealousness I went back to restore it all back BUT
8- Now I cant see ANY wireless networks (used to see 9) while my other PCs see all
9- On network screen it says internet sharing is on even though on sharing screen it says it isnt
Regardless the mini doesnt see any wireless networks at all while other devices in home are running fine. This mini had worked flawlessly for almost 6 mos till now

Since you have a modem/router, you must continue to use the Beetel modem/router on your network.
The Time Capsule can connect to the Beetel modem/router using a wired Ethernet cable connection and produce a separate wireless network. You would NOT want the Beetel router and Time Capsule to both try to produce the same wireless network if they are located close together, since this will likely create interference problems that may prevent devices from connecting to either the Beetel orTime Capsule wireless network.
The exception to having the Beetel modem/router and Time Capsule produce the same wireless network would be if you can locate the Time Capsule at least a room or two away from the Beetel modem/router. An Ethernet cable can be run up to 300+ feet or about 100 meters with no signal loss, so you should be able to locate the Time Capsule anywhere you want.
Are you able to consider this option?
Another option.....if you cannot locate the Time Capsule in another room......would be to configure the Time Capsule to use the same wireless network name and password as the Beetel network and turn off the wireless on Bettel modem/router.
Important.....there is no guarantee that the printer will be able to connect to the Time Capsule wireless network, so you should expect to start over and set up the printer again.
Yet another option would be to turn off the wireless service on the Time Capsule and use the Beetel wireless to back up your computers to the Time Capsule, which will act as a wired hard drive for the network. If you select this option, the Time Capsule can be located close to the Beetel modem/router.

Cant see my airplay icon, cant use my remote app on either of my devices

I have the gen 3 apple TV and somehow i can no longer airplay, from my mac book pro, ipad, ipad mini or iphone. It used to work on all of my devices and now I cant see the icon.
When I open my remote app it tells me that I have to turn on Home sharing on my itunes or apple tv. It is turned on, on all of my devices.
I have been trying to trouble shoot this issue (all of my devices have the latest updates) and I still cant use my remote or air play
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I was able to fix the issue by unpluging the apple tv, router, and modem all for about 2-3 minutes and then replugging them in

When ever i go to watch videos on youtube or any other apps, the screen goes black. you can hear the video but you cant see anything. how do i fix this?

i have an ipod tough 3g and its like about 4 to 5 years old it works perfectly fine except the home button is abit messed up and the ipod sometimes crashes. but other than that everything is fine. so i was watching something on an app and then al of a sudden i dont see the video i can just hear it. i then think its just the app but when i go on youtube the same exact thing happens. you click to watch a video and you can hear it perfectly but you cant see anything. the screen is just black when u ONLY watch a video. this happened last night so yea.i really hope somebody can help me figure out how to fix this and whats wrongwith it:)

When it goes black do a very short press of the button on the right upper side of the phone and the screen will reappear. Make it a very short quick press.
OTOH, if you are using the speaker so you can watch the screen as you are talking when it goes dim touch the screen anywhere that it is blank and it will again go bright. On long calls you have to repeat this.
Many folks have had the same problem you described and what I have told you is the best and ONLY way around the screen going blank during a call.

Sometimes the Firefox window gets off screen and continues to open there. One technique you can try is the following:
While the Firefox window is active (you can judge by the Windows task bar, press Alt+Spacebar to display the system menu for the Firefox window.
You may or may not be able to see the menu, but if you do, its position in an upper or lower corner provides a clue as to where the Firefox window is lurking. If it's on the right side, tap the m key and use the left arrow to move the window to the left. If it's on the left side, tap the m key and use the right arrow to move the window to the right. Similarly, if the system menu appears toward the top of the screen, use the down arrow to move the window down, and vice versa. It may take many presses. Does that work?
If necessary, you could try deleting a settings file that stores the last location of the Firefox window. After locating your profile folder, close all Firefox windows before deleting the file. This article has more information: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Corrupt_localstore.rdf

It shows the backup as a file and shows various system info. but there are no photos or other files shown.

A PowerPC Mac, if that's what it is, won't be able to see an Intel Mac's formatted data. Also ExFat formatting is not supported by 10.6.3 or earlier. I would try viewing the backup on another Intel Mac with at least 10.6.4. If it isn't there, then the backup never really took place. I much profer a hard drive with Carbon Copy Cloner.

MacBook can't see my home wireless network after upgrade to OSX 10.8.5

After upgrading to OSX 10.8.5, my MacBook does not detect any wireless nertworks. My iPad and iPhone work fine, my router has been rebooted, WiFi is turned on, and the ethernet connection is how I am writing this message to you via broadband. There are a half dozen wireless networks in range (according to my iPhone) but the MacBook cannot find the router I am sitting next to. Any ideas on how to correct this issue?

It appears an SMC reset was required:
HT5815 I've just done the 10.8.5 update on my MacBook Pro end of 2008, and WiFi don't work after reboot... Impossible to activate it...
