Cant see my photos

Not all the photos in my windows folders are appaearing in Elements 11 media view. In one case only 1 photo appears in media view but 42 appear when I press "reveal in explorer"
If I choose File|Get photos and videos I get the message "Nothing was imported" with "file already exists in catalog"
If I choose "Find all missing files" I get the message "No media to be displayed"
I tried "Repair catalog" but this did not solve the problem
After searching the internet I tried renaming C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\My Catalog\thumb.5.cache and a new one was created (over twice the size of the original) but stll not solving the problem
I'm new to Elements and maybe there is something, very simple, that I need to do???

After 2 long chat desk sessions this has been solved
Apparently if a file with the same file name exists in more than onw windows folder it will only display, in Elememts, in one of the folders.

What version of iPhoto are you using? 9.6 is the current version.
Do a backup.
Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.iPhoto.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

Did you restore your backup? That should recover camera roll photos.

If you didn't already do so, try uninstalling iTunes and all of it's components (not just iTunes and AMDS), then reinstall iTunes, as discussed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925. Follow the article and uninstall them in the order indicated.

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Screen locked yesterday x 5 times. Powered on/off AOK. Connected to ITunes on windows PC, upgraded OS as suggested, Synch performed, backup halted Out of space? tried to delete apps from ITunes directly, Error messages "disk is full". Phone screen now showing ITunes logo and ITunes prompting a Restore of phone. What should I do? Will I lose my photos? I cant see any option to view my photos on ICloud (Contacts appear okay on ICloud)

Photos are not available for viewing on icloud and are not backed up to it from a PC or Mac, only from an ios device. It sounds like your iphone was unable to perform a backup to icloud before going bad (or whatever happened to it). You'll just have to perfrom a restore to see if any photos come back.
But the usual advice regarding photos is that you sync photos to the PC periodically as you would photos from a camera. If you've been doing that, then you'll find copies on the PC.

when you paste into a document a new layer should be added. Maks sure your not pasting in below other layer that will hide what you past in. Check your layers palette. Before pasting make sure you current top layer is Photoshop target.

Cant see friends photo's on my Shared photo stream?

I will try to explain this as good as i can
Basically today i have set up a 'shared photo stream' and i added my Girlfriend to it. She got the email and officially subscribed to the photo stream. When i upload a photo to that stream, only i can see that photo and she can't. it also happens the other way around? she uploaded 2 photo's and i have not got them on the shared photo stream? is it a matter of waiting and theyll eventually load on eachothers devices or is this a bug with the latest IOS 7?
Ive already tried:
Rebooting my iPhone 5
looking on my MacBook Pro (and rebooting it)
Turning off the icloud shared stream feature and re activating it
just to point out again i CAN see MY own photos i upload to the stream, but i cannot see my girlfriends photos she has uploaded onto our stream. and same the other way around. She can see her photos but she cannot see mine
I have already looked on troubleshooting and there is nothing linked with my problem?
Just to clarify SHE has the latest updatde ISO 7.1.1 but she does have the iPhone 4... whereas i have an iphone 5....

Camera Roll Photos are saved in your iCloud backup. Photo Stream photos live in iCloud but do not take up Backup space.
However, if you value your photos, you should back them up to your computer, and then back those up to an external hard disk. iCloud backups are overlaid with newer backups every time you do one, and Photo Stream photos will hold only a total of 1000 photos or a month's worth of photos, whichever comes first.

It is possible that you clicked "Block Images" in the right click context menu while trying to save an image.

I just upgraded to OS 10.8.1 and now iphoto cant see the photos on my iphone. i can't download them to my laptop at all. not what i had hoped for from an upgraded OS. any suggestions? thanks, Carrie

just upgraded to OSX 10.8.1 on my 2008 macbook pro, and now when i sync my phone i cannot download photos to iphoto.
can't pull them in using image capture either.
changed my sync settings but that just tried to pull all my iphoto images onto my phone, which was not what i wanted either.
the old OS worked fine for this function but 10.8.1 not so much.
how to fix? need to be able to pull the photos off the phone, and need to be able to NOT pull all iphoto ONto the phone at each sync.

I opened the iPod with iFunBox.
Can find no relevant documents other than the single image in the 9th of 9 Cameras.
The other 8 Cameras appear empty.
Am now trying an iCloud sync which appears to be showing the images.

Imovie cant see my photos.....

I was emailed jpeg photos to use in Imovie which i imported into iphoto. imovie sees all my photos except recently the imported ones. what am I doing wrong? I tried restarting everything, checking sharing preferences etc...all it sees is the folder title but wont drag & drop or import through the camera icon. I am perplexed..... any suggestions much appreciated.

Cant access my photos and videos on N95

After I installed the latest software update for N95 my cellphone started to act weird. First: everytime I try to access the "gallery" it freeze the cellphone so I cant see my photos and video. Thats VERY annoying and my battery metter can be fully charged and in a few hours all of a sudden my cellphobe start to beep "low battery".
Everytime I try to see a photo my N95 freeze and stop responding and I have 2 options: 1) turn off the cellphone or 2)press the red button(hang up).
When I try to change my photo on MSN Messenger the phone also freeze. Everything that is photo related freeze my cellphone.
I still can take pics and record movies but cant see/watch them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Do you mean your photos in the Photo Stream?
First her system and iPhoto version should support iCloud and Photo Stream: OS X 10.7. 5 and iPhoto 9.4 or later.
Next, she would have to log into the your iCloud account in her System/iCloud preference pane and enable Photo Stream:
She would also have to enable Photo Stream in here iPhoto Photo Stream preferences:
If she enables all of the iCloud features in the System/iCloud preference pane she'll be syncing your Contact list with hers, bookmards, etc. If you want to have her only get the photos do not enable any of the other items. If she has her own iCloud account she'll won't be able to use it.
If you want to create a Shared Photo Stream
so she could view the phtotos you put in it without using your iCloud account the system requiremets are: OS X 10. 8.2 or later. This Apple document describes what is needed: iCloud: System requirements

The steps outlined below can help get your Photo Stream photos to appear on your iPhone.
From the Home screen, tap Settings > Wi-Fi.
Make sure that Wi-Fi is on and your device is connected to a wireless network. You can use these steps to troubleshoot your Internet connection on your iOS device.
From your Home screen, tap Settings > iCloud > Photos.
Make sure that My Photo Stream is on. If it’s already on, turn it off and tap Delete. After it turns off, turn My Photo Stream on again.
Close the Camera app on the device that took the photo. Photos won't upload from an iOS device to the Recently Added album (or the My Photo Stream album in iOS 7) until you close the Camera app.
See if your iOS device is below 20% battery power. To preserve battery life, downloads and uploads from My Photo Stream are disabled when the battery reaches 20%. Downloads and uploads will continue after you charge your device, and the battery charge is greater than 20%.
