Cant see pod csat video in view screen in Itunes

Quite often I get green static when a pod cast opens in Itunes. I cant see the viodeo, but the audio is perfect. Does anyone have any idea as to how to fix this?

I have found the issue, it's the Audio plug in SRS iWOW which is not compatible anymore, I had to manually uninstall iWOW by going to the folder /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/ and deleting the iWOW file from there.

When i join a video conference with more than once person i cant see anybody else but myself.
When i start a video conference and add people one by one...the first person can see everybody...but the 2nd and 3rd cant see anybody else.

It should be set to match your download speed or a max of 1.5meg

Cant see a simple video on macbook pro. Please help!!

I have a macbookpro 17" 2.2 Ghz Intel corei7 with 4 gb ram and from mid 2010 but cant see any video, non youtube, not games, not vcl!! it stops, freeze, and continues. I think it might be ram or graphic card problem... any help please?? I am a poor desperated video jockey!!

I don't know which generation model you have, but there are know problems with certain generation models that have the Nvidia chipsets. If yours is one then Apple has a repair option for you to fix the problem under warranty even if your warranty has expired.
There's no "old" version of OS X to revert to. If you have a 2007 or 2008 model then you have the only OS version that works.

I cant see the graph in discoverer viewer whith was created in the desktop

Hi,
I need your help!! I have a problem to see a graph in Discoverer viewer. I will detail you the steps that I follow;
It was a difficult calculate report to results by Discoverer so, I create a view in the data base which show 3 field, Periodo(number) which is a union whit other field from other folder, State(varchar), Requirement(number).
From the discoverer desktop y have a crosstab worksheets and a graph, there I can see it without problem, but in the Discoverer viewer I can see the graph.
I tried to set the worksheets options in “show options” to show me the graphs too, but this options didn’t appeared there. Somebody know what I should have to do to see it?
On the other hand I changed the “show null values show” option since null to empty, and when I wanted to save the change this error appeared;
“Oracle BI Discoverer don’t had to found the necessary values to show the events…”

Hi Dora,
The graphs that you create using Discoverer Plus will show nicely in Viewer. Everything you develop in Pluys works in Viewer. They are companion products.
You must realize that Discoverer Plus/Viewer and Desktop are two seperate product sets and they use different techniques for graph creation. There are other differencies between the two that suggests that you need to develop all reports using Discoverer Plus in stead of Discoverer Desktop.
I have experienced workbook created in Plus being destroyed when opened and saved using Desktop. So for a long time I have simply forgotten all about Desktop. If your company is relying on both Viewer and Dersktop I suggest that the time has come to change strategy and technique.

Viewing 3rd party video in full screen with itunes 9 with black border

Hello,
In the previous version of itunes I could copy my dvd's (movies and tv shows) with handbrake into a mp4 file for my iphone and then watch them on laptop if I wanted by using itunes. When I did, I could set it to full screen and it would keep the movies/tv shows at a good size to watch and not distort the image and still put a black screen behind it. So, therefore, I could watch a small version of the movie without seeing my desktop in the background.
With iTunes 9 I can't seem to do that. If I try to watch these same movies in Full Screen or Fit to Screen it blows everything up huge. This ends up looking distorted because there isn't enough resolution. I know that I could watch it on actual size or double size but then I can't get that great black background that hides the desktop.
Is there a setting that I am missing to get this back? Or is this feature just totally gone?

Whats with the MBP lid? Dont close it ... if you're so concerned! Just go to System Preferences/Energy Saver and set it to how you like it.

Same loop problem, but also cant see iPod enabled video

i have a bunch of movies i created and loaded into itunes, and a bunch of video Podcasts (from comedy central). all play on the 5G iPod.
none of them appear in ATV. the playlist entires are "empty", and nothing shows under TV or Movies. nothing is under TV, and Trailers is under Movies (which just hangs looking for trailers since i zeroed the router to stop the looping issue).
so, what am i doing wrong? it looks like the iTunes machine is not exporting the video sources (the Comedy Central Video Podcasts dont show either). i would suspect a licensing issue, but the movies i created (mp4 files sucked off a video camera with iMovie) shoudl not have those issues.
any help is appreaciated.

ok, i was trying to stream these movies from the iTunes machine. i have since started to "sync" them to see if that makes a difference.
so, originally, when i was viewing source "iTunes' Music" (the machine where i store all my iTunes content), the videos, movies, and podcasts dont show up. it appears that "internet" available content ("trailers", as an example) still trys to show.
i just got my ATV today (it is one of the refurbished units), so i have not seen them work before on ATV, since i have always had the rebooting issue.
i will be glad to provide you with more information. all of them needed to be "converted for iPod", and all of them seem to be able to be "synced" to the ATV (at least, they are copying right now), the issue is that i prefer to just stream everything (treating the ATV like an Airport Express for Video).
anyway, there is information from one of them (read remotely from my laptop):
Quicktime Movie File (remote), 128kbps, 44.100 KHz
actually, they all seem to have the same information. i will be glad to provide more info, if you can tell me how to get it.

Cant see all meeting in monthly view

I have Ical ver 2.0.5. When i am in monthly view some of my busy days with eventa such as all days events over lap each other so you can see all your meeting first time, you only know there is other events in that day as Ical shows some little dots at the top of that day. When you view the clanedar in a weekly or day view you can see all.
We are trying to move from Entourage to mail and ical, but these stupid issue in Ical is not helping me do so, Entourage will let you view many events in the same day in month view.
Is this just a peice of software or is there some that can be done

Incidentally, Entourage will show 7 events a day in month view before putting '...more' at the bottom of the day.

Just downloaded a movies to my new IPad and cant find it. I looked in purchased and movies ands cant see it. Where might it be in ITunes?

Where can I find the movies I just download to th IPad? I looked in "Purchased" and I can't see it?

Cant play or import video podcasts from garageband to itunes

Hi,
ive just update iTunes to version 7.2, however since doing this i can no longer import any kind of video podcast or imovie file to itunes. This is driving me mad as its very important for me to be able to do this as its a big part of my job!
If i delete the video track in garageband and just export it as a normal audio podcast it works fine, its just video files that are the problem, im pretty sure its iTunes related and not garageband, any ideas about whats going wrong?
(iTunes and garageband have both been updated)

On another note, why did quicktime not update itself automatically, as i did do software up date, even ran software update from quicktime, but it didnt find anything, even though it was only on 7.0.4, surely it should have updated itself and saved me all the trouble?

FCP HD cant see video NO WHERE!!!

Ok here it is last night I imported video in, and now today I went to start working on it and now I cant see nothing, no video at all. I reinstalled my FCP but nothing. When I put clips into my time line all I see is black, but I can hear the sound. I played it throught the camera but nothing. I opened up another project that was working that I looked at the night before to check on somthing, and today I can't see it. If I double click on the clip in the time line it comes up where I can edit it (like speed and what not) and it will play but its slow. Can anybody help me, this is a hot job that has to be done in like 2 days. HELP PLEASE!!! I NEED MY FCP ASAP!!!!!! :'(

First thing to do is select your canvas and press the w key and see if your picture pops up. Or click up the little pulldown and select Image or Image + Wireframe (not just Wireframe).

If for some reason you can't view your timeline on your external monitor, there are a few things to try:
1) Make sure that the camera/deck is connected and powered on BEFORE you open FCP.
2) In the FILE menu select AUDIO/VIDEO Preferences and make sure your signal is being sent out thru Firewire DV.
3) Go to the menu and select VIEW>EXTERNAL>ALL FRAMES.
4) Go to VIEW->refresh A/V devices
5) Make sure the Log & Capture window is closed
6) Cycle power to the deck or camcorder
7) Shut down the Mac and then restart (couple this with cycling power to the deck or camcorder)
If you want it to play in both the canvas and the external monitor you need to go to the FINAL CUT PRO menu and select AUDIO/VIDIO settings and make sure MIRROR ON DESKTOP is selected under the PLAYBACK OUTPUT section

FCP7-White video thumbnails and screen in the viewer window

Just opened one of my FCP7 project files on my brand new iMac/Lion for the first time.
Thumbnails and video in view screen are white, and no video timeline doesnt play.
When attempting to render the 30 minute sequence, it gives me a general error and it will not render.
Help!!!

It means you don't have the codec installed to playback the video format that you are trying to work with.
So let's start with some information about the video codec of your source footage, your timeline settings and anything else that you feel might be useful in diagnosing your issue.

I can't see the cursor on the logon screen with my MBP when using it in bright sunlight.

I have a 15 inch MacBook Pro with an anti glare screen. I am running Lion 10.7.3.
It is being used in bright sunlight in southern greece very sucessfully apart from the fact I cant see the cursor on the logon screen to select the user I want to log in as. .
Setting the cursor to a larger size using the universal access options works really well once I have logged in but at the moment I have to dash for the nearest shade to be able to see the screen to log in.
Any suggestions? A key sequence to swap between users on the logon screen would do (there are only two)

If you're using it in bright light, you may be getting sunlight through the back of the machine which can wash out the display. The Apple logo on the back of the lid is actually a cut-out that uses the systems back light to make it glow. Bright light (especially sunlight) can actually shine through the back. As the users in the login are typically in the middle of the display, this is the area most likely to be washed out as that is where the Apple logo is. You can try just putting your hand over the Apple logo on the back to block the sunlight when trying to log in.

When ever i go to watch videos on youtube or any other apps, the screen goes black. you can hear the video but you cant see anything. how do i fix this?

i have an ipod tough 3g and its like about 4 to 5 years old it works perfectly fine except the home button is abit messed up and the ipod sometimes crashes. but other than that everything is fine. so i was watching something on an app and then al of a sudden i dont see the video i can just hear it. i then think its just the app but when i go on youtube the same exact thing happens. you click to watch a video and you can hear it perfectly but you cant see anything. the screen is just black when u ONLY watch a video. this happened last night so yea.i really hope somebody can help me figure out how to fix this and whats wrongwith it:)

When it goes black do a very short press of the button on the right upper side of the phone and the screen will reappear. Make it a very short quick press.
OTOH, if you are using the speaker so you can watch the screen as you are talking when it goes dim touch the screen anywhere that it is blank and it will again go bright. On long calls you have to repeat this.
Many folks have had the same problem you described and what I have told you is the best and ONLY way around the screen going blank during a call.
