Cant seem to buy music with a gift certificate on itunes

i recieved an itunes gift certificate recently an now i am tryin to buy some music off itunes an i cant seem to figure out how to use it atall!!!
can anyone help me please its driving me insane??

First make sure that you are logged into your iTunes account in the iTunes Store. There is a Sign In button located at the upper right if you haven't. If you don't have an account, press the Sign In and make one (its very easy). Go under "Quick Links" there is a redeem link. Scratch to reveal the code on the card. Insert that code (caps lock needed). That's all. You'll see the credit next to your Apple ID. afterwards. Buy anything you want, just click "buy" and your gift card credit will be deducted.

What does "it won't let me mean"? It's much more helpful if you actually tell us what is happening when you try to use the card.
Did you redeem the card properly in the App Store or in iTunes - at the bottom of the screen in the main tab of either app?

Plug your iPod in and when it appears in iTunes, click on it from under Devices in the left hand pane. This brings you to the Summary tab. Locate and click on the Music tab. What configurations do you have made from under this tab? Is your iPod configured to sync those playlists?

Hey ppl. Im having an issue. I recently bought a gift certificate for itunes music, but when i go to buy music it says its gonna charge it debit wize. any1 know how to make it subtract from the gift certificate and NOT my dads credit card> lol.

I'll try to answer your questions to the best of my knowledge.
All am hoping for is more RAM, a bigger CPU and Hard Drive space. Would you be able to tell me what the new specs will be? If not, can you at least tell me if it will be worth the wait?
According to the Terms of Use for these discussions, we are not allowed to speculate about future Apple products, but I can definitely say that it would probably be worth the wait at this point, especially considering that September (which is typically when new models are released as you stated in your post) is only a couple of months away.
How exactly do I go about handing over the games with the iPod?
Sorry, but you will not be able to, unless you give the buyer your iTunes store account information in order for him or her to authorize the games on his or her computer. And there is no way to transfer these purhases to another iTunes store account. The most you should or can do if you are selling your iPod, is to restore it via iTunes. This will wipe all content and media from the iPod and set it back to its original default settings. I wish I could say differently though.
Lastly, I'm glad to hear you have had such great experiences with your Apple products so far. Let's hope it continues. Best of luck selling your old iPod. Hope it works out for you.

What computer do you have?
What iTunes are you running now?
What OS X system are you running are your computer now? Or is this a Windows machine?

My iPod got stolen. I read several posts about the subject. Does iTunes know what S/N iPod is buying music? I would think iTunes knows the iPod S/N. And if someone is buying music with my iPod from iTunes I could at least track down the name from the iTunes account? Does APPLE offer information on whether or not someone is still buying info from my iPod?

Music can't be bought from an iPod classic. It's done from a computer and then synced to the iPod classic, which doesn't transfer any information relating to the iPod to Apple.

There's a difference between an iTunes gift certificate and an iTunes gift card. The Apple Gift Card FAQ specifically says:
"Can I use the Apple Gift Card to purchase an iTunes Music Store Gift Card? What about an iTunes Music Store electronic gift certificate?"
"Apple Gift Cards can be used to purchase an iTunes Music Store Gift Card. However, Apple Gift Cards can't be used to purchase iTunes Music Store electronic gift certificates."
