Cant seem to connect to localhost

Question

hi yea,
I set up my site on localhost, but the connect button in the
file panel is
greyed out. I usually connect using ftp direct to my hosting
company without
issue, but my connection for localhost I cannot get it to
become active. I
have set the following, i have done this all before with out
issue just cant
understand why I cant do it now. I am uing AVG anti virus and
the standard
ms firewall.

ok it was down to me not having the driver installed for the
odbc. all is
working, I had thought that the driver would load when I
loaded the mysql
onto my machine any way I did the following.
You are downloading:
mysql-connector-odbc-3.51.12-win32.zip
made it work
