Cant send anonymous smtp

Hi, I sold a rv220w to a customer. I've configured it but it seems that the router doesn't allow anonymous smtp. I've configured outlook on a computer with authentification request and it's working fine.
There is a software on a computer that I'm unable to change the authentification and it's not working ( Not able to send message )
I've search in the router and I've disabled these rule :
"Block Anonymous ICMP Messages"
It still the same..... I've tried to setup an email account without the authentification and I get this error :
"Relaying not allowed"
I searched on google and on  the cisco forum but I've found nothing that can help me.
Someone esle have this bug?

Good morning
Hi Jeff, thank you for using our forum, my name is Johnnatan I am part of the Small business Support community, I apologize for the inconvenience, in this case you can check couple of things to verify if the router is running correctly.
   1. You can check the last firmware update for this model, the last release is 1.0.4.17 also you             can download this
         firmware here
After that,  you can create a      backup from your configuration and then perform a factory reset.
Also you can check the Firewall >      Access Rules to verify if there is any rule blocking SMTP, also for      ports 465 and 587.
Also check that  “Block Wan      request” is disabled, you can check this in Firewall>Access      Rules.
You can check additional      information regarding this device here,      in  chapter ”Administering Your Cisco RV220W “ > Remote      Logging Configuration> Page 180
I hope you find this answer useful,

  • Mail: Cant Send Messages SMTP Error

When trying to send messages I get a SMTP connection error. I have found that the connection fails because the server name is incorrectly spelled. Mail seems to add my account name as an additional line in the server name. Example:
    [email protected]:macmail
When I go to Mail>Preferences>Accounts>Edit Server List, the server is spelled correctly without the additional (:macmail) added on. Connection Doctor fails because of this misspelling and I cant seem to be able to stop mail from changing the server name. Any suggestions? Im stumped. Thanks in advance

Typically, Road Runner is a cable connection, and as is the case with several cable providers of broadband, the SMTP does not require separate Authentication -- they actually authenticate on the basis of the IP address stored in the modem they provide. In Mail Preferences/Accounts/Account Information click on the arrows beside the name of the Outgoing Server (as I think you have already mentioned finding), choose Edit Server List, and then choose the Advanced Tab. There you should check to use the Custom port, set to Port 25, and choose None as the method of Authentication. Remove any Username and Password entered there, and Save these settings. You should now be able to send with the RR SMTP. If you have a third party SMTP, then you may need different settings, so more info if that is the case.

  • I cant send emails

hi. my problem is i cant send e mails. receive e mails is ok.  but when i want to send e mails i get the note: please enter a passwort in the account settings for mail". when i go to the mail settings for sending emails and check the smtp server settings, i enter the right smtp name (mail.gmx.net). so the hostname is mail.gmx.net. when i enter the same passwort like for receiving mails, the i phone checks and all chops appear. but it still doesnt work. can annybody help please???thanks

I had the same problem the other day when I received a replacement phone and synched my info.  I kept putting in the passwords and could not send emails.  I deleted my 3 email accounts and added them again one by one and now it works.  I have done this in the past years a few times also.  It has nothing to do with the server. Every time I reset or erase all contents from the phone I have to do it again.

  • Cant send e mails

Am adding new BT account (operating system is macos X 10.4.11
outgoing smtp  and mail incoming accounts have been checked by Connection Doctor and are working!
    BUT
    incoming mail is fine
    cant send outgoing
    Can anyone help ?

Basic server settings for BT Yahoo! Mail:
    Incoming Mail (POP3) Server - mail.btinternet.com
Port (usually specified in 'Advanced settings') - 110  (but 25 works)
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - mail.btinternet.com
Port (usually specified in 'Advanced Settings') - 25
Account Name/Login Name - Your email address (including the "@btinternet.com" or "@btopenworld.com" part)
Password - Your BT Yahoo! password
Please note: if your client does not support SMTP authentication, you will not be able to use it to send your BT Yahoo! Mail messages.

  • Cant send emails from iphone 4s

I cant send any emails from my i phone. My AOL or sky account says cant send message as server does not allow relaying of messages.
    any ideas?
it worked on my i phone 3??

I found I had the same problem. I could send emails via WiFi but not my network. So what I did was in settings/Mail,contacts,cal/account and then went to outgoing SMTP and under host name I had the option to enter User name and Password which I did from my ISP account and hey presto, I can now send emails from my iPhone 4S. This makes me very happy. Hope it can work for you.

  • Cant send mail

I cant send email on either of my accounts from the iphone. It is saying to check smtp settings but they are correct.
Was sending fine a day ago, but seems to intermittently not want to work. Any ideas?  Receiving fine to both accounts.

Make sure your outgoing mailserver settings are correct. In particular, try using StartTLS instead of SSL/TLS, this helps in some cases.

  • Cant send/recieve email from iPhone on wifi - 3G works fine

I cant send or recieve email on my iPhone / iPad when on WIFI - when I turn off WIFI, it all works fine on 3G. I tried to delete my exchange-account, and then both gmail accounts works fine on wifi. Any thoughts?
...or rather; I think maybe it sends/recieves, but it takes a very long time.

Make sure that your router is setup to not block any ports.
as well check with your ISP to ensure those servers are not blocked.
you shouln't have any issues with receiving mail. the outgoing would be the only issue you should be having.
make sure you add an alternate SMTP server (using your ISP's server) to send email when on wifi

  • Cant send emails from iphone 4

HI I am trying to set up my ntlworld account on my iphone 4. I can receive emails but I cant send them. Something is obviously wrong with smtp settings. Any suggestions please?

I could receieve but not send and tried loads of resets/fixes and changes of settings.  NOthing worked properly but fortunately these guys sorted it out and it works perfectly every time now.  I recommend their service highly as I would never have been able to figure it out myself!  Hope it helps.  Cheers Charlie

    Hi, welcome to the forums.
Are you getting any error messages, if so are they 553 ones ?
As well as the link from Keith, have a look at my shortcuts (link below) option 0e.

  • Cant send mail using hotspot

Hi.  I have started using my iPhone 4S as a WiFi hotspot for my MBP when on the road.  Mail collects from all my accounts ok but I cant send any mails from my MBP thru the Hotspot connection.  I dont get any error message, just the spinning icon next to the sent mailbox and no info in the activity window.  Any ideas welcome.  thanks

Are you sending mail using a Broadband provider account?
For instance, Virgin Media Mail can only be send through the Virgin Media Sever when you are actually connected to your Virgin Media line (at home)
An attempt to send mail using the outgoiong server smtp.virgin.com will be blocked if it isn't coming down one of their own lines.
To cure it, you'll need to add a different smtp server to our mail account that can be used while youo're out an about. Normally this would be the smtp server that your phone company gives you i.e smtp.orange.co.uk or whatever.

  • Cant send mail but can recieve

have an iphone 3g and just today its stopped sending emails. it comes up with error message
user name or password for smtp.(email [email protected] is incorrect??
is the server just down or have i stuffed something up. like i said still receive but cant send from phone

I began having the same issue today. Several people have posted on the MS livemail forum with this issue today with no response. I was able to work around (found it in the troubleshooting section here) by going settings > mail > livemail account > outgoing mail server > at&t smtp server > on. This is only a work around. There is clearly something that changed today. Another thread talked about not sending when on wifi and using this work around but even with wifi off it will not send without this work around change.

  • Cant send mail within certain wifi networks!

    Hi.
I have my own wifi network at home which works fine.
When i come round to my mums house, she has an orange (phone company in UK) wireless router.
It all works fine and im on websites and downloading mail etc but i just cant send it from mail.
It says the selected server is unavailable.
As soon as im out of this wifi network its fine...
Any ideas what this could be?
    Thanks, Ben

Some ISPs, that provide their own email service to its customers, block traffic that is destined for port 25 of mail servers if it is not their mail server. So, if you don't have the same ISP has mum, that's likely why you are not getting through. You might try specifying port 465 or port 587 as your outgoing mail port, most likely with SSL enabled, but I would start by asking your email provider what should your smtp server settings be when you are on a network that blocks port 25 traffic to anyone's mail server but their own. Also ask whether those same settings would work when you are on their network, that way you wouldn't have to make two sets of outgoing mail servers for your mail account.
