Cant send imessage on Wifi

Ive been having problems sending/receiving imessages or emails for that matter, whenever I am connected to my university's wifi. I initially thought it was a problem with my phone, but at home i can send and receive imessages with no problems. Ive reset my network settings multiple times, removed and readded my accounts, but I still cant send imessages on the univeristy's wifi connection. I can use safari, but no email or imessage. is there some specific setting i am missing?

I'm having the same issues, but I believe it has nothing to do with the wifi... It started for me as soon as I did the iOS6 update... Seems ALOT of people are having this issue, and apple won't acknowledge the issue

Sending iMessages over WiFi while traveling abroad?

I'm currently out of the country and don't have an international data plan. I want to text my boyfriend using iMessage (I have a WiFi connection in the hotel and he also has an iPhone). I know it's free for me to send iMessage texts over WiFi even though I'm in a foreign country, but would he be charged to iMessage me back if he's sending his messages using 3G/data? I don't want to run up his phone bill. Thanks for any help!

My new ipad cant send imessage and use facetime

Hi everyone. My new ipad cannot send using imessage. Facetime won't work either. It has the same email ad as my imessage in iphone but i already turned it off and it still won't work. It only happend to me just now, i've been using it with for a month with my iphone. Before it was working with my iphone. I do not know why it wont send imessage and facetime right now. But other internet related apps work like safari and appstore and social networking sites.

I already fixed my imessage and facetime. I changed the DNS setting of my wifi. Maybe you can try it too. Go to the wifi then press the arrow on the right side, look for the DNS portion and change it to 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4. I hope that will work on you too.

Why cant send imessage without hitting "send" using blue tooth keyboard?

its quite annoying when you type with a blue tooth keyboard sending imessage you have to hit the "send" button on the screen all the way across instead of hitting the "enter" key on the keyboard
is there any option we can choose from the system??

I do not think there is a way around it. But try pressing the Tab key several times until the Send button lights up. If that works, pressing Return on the keyboard should be equivalent to hitting the Send button on the screen.
If that does not work, try each of the function keys along the top of the keyboard, in case one of them has been pre-programmed to Send a message. You may have to hold down the fn key (bottom left).
You might look into using the "Assistive Touch" feature at Settings-General-Accessibility-Assistive Touch. I do not know what it does, but it mentions having difficulty touching the screen.

For MMS, that option should be in Settings > Messages with an option to just toggle on a off. I have provided and image that will show the location. If you are still having issues with sending a message, then take a look at the article below for more information.

Cant send iMessage from iPhone or Mac, can receive them.

Two days ago I suddently became unable to send iMessages from either my Mac Mini or my iphone yet people can send them to me. To respond I have to switch to SMS and then I get stuck there. It looks like facetime still works, just no imessage.
Any ideas?

I can't send SMS but I can recieve it' and I can recieve and send iMessage just fine

I can't send the first text. And when I try I get the could not send message

can always try a reset on network settings. i suggest writing down any wifi passwords you expect to keep,
and go to SETTINGS>GENERAL>RESET>RESET NETWORK SETTINGS. no this will not cause you to lose any data on your phone other then your wifi passwords.
btw you question makes no sense. you cant send or receive, but you cant send imessage just fine?
also make sure you are entering phone numbers correctly.

My phone reset and now my imessages only send from my email address instead of from my phone number. I tried settings> messages> send and receive and unchecked the email listed like i saw to try on previous questions, but instead of fixing my problem, it just made it so that now i cant send imessages whatsoever! Go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, and click on your Apple ID and sign out of Messages. Then sign on again. Sometimes it needs to reset itself....

Ipad won't send iMessage

I just purchased the iPad Air 64GB WIFI & Sim model, & I can't get it to send or receive messages. I try sending iMessages to an iPhone 5s with iMessage turned on on both devices but keep getting the "not delivered". I'm on the data only plan so I can't make phone calls, but I should still be able to send iMessages via wifi shouldn't I? It won't do Face Time calls either. Can someone please help....

I have just upgraded to a Iphone 5c and now it wont send imessages to my partners Iphone 4, and when it sends as a text he is not recieving them. We have tried turning phones on and off, rebooting and restoring network settings and nothing seems to work?
