Cant send receive e-mail on 3G network

I have e-mail with sbcglobal and Gmail.  T-mobile is my 3g provider.  With N900 I cannot send or receive e-mails on 3G network.  However, it works fine when I am on wifi.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to solve this problem.

Narf, I'll use same tree
So, I suspect that problem is on network (although my operaton elisa seems to disagree). Problem is that my 3G or so connections do not work now without having a call on somewhere - well at least you can call and surf at the same time but
ppl are getting **bleep** if I call them all-the-time without anything to discuss
3G works with diff operator sim, its only 3g use thou, but works. I wonder could this be some sim card problem again? Yh?
And another operators sim works too (saunalahti, uses same network than elisa?). Anyone had this king of problem? Is it me or my device or am I again right and the network sucks (they dont like my exessive traffic

  • TWO PROBLEMS:( BLACKBERRY CURVE 9300) 1) Unable to send/receive e-mails 2) black square with a minute hand whizzing round

    Hello,
    I have a BLACKBERRY CURVE 9300
i would be most grateful if someone could help me with persistent problems, which ive previously enlisted the help of T-mobile to resolve but to no avail.
    1) I am unable to send/ receive e-mails, this has been an ongoing problem which seems to sort itself out for a short while then returns, i have been asked  to remove e-mail accounts from device and re-boot, and as i say works for a short time then starts again.
    2) I have this annoying black square in the middle of the screen with like a second hand whizzing round which can sometimes last ages. I was told by t-mobile this was due to not doing regular device updates, i have since done this and as i type continue to see this symbol.
Any advice/suggestions would be gratefully received.
    Thankyou.

The spinning clock is usually an indicator of low memory. Make sure you are completely closing apps your aren't using by using the close or exit option in the menu instead of just backing out of the app with the escape key. Also check your memory after you have rebooted your device. If it is still low then you may have to delete apps you absolutely don't need or use to get memory back.
As for the email issue I am assuming you have a data plan since you have tried to fix the problem with Tmobile. If you haven't done so you may have to re-register your phone on the network and or log into Tmobile's BIS site to resend your service books.

for 1. If you mean the same Exchange org, no.
For 2, it depends. You need a MX record for your receiving SMTP server ( At least, You *should* have one), but if sending to another org, not necessarily, as you could smarthost messages to it and a MX would not be required.
Just curious, what problem are you trying to solve?

I am having a problem sending/receiving e mail messages on my iPhone 5 and cannot access my account. The message I am receiving is: The user name or password for "imap.gmail" is incorrect.
I do not know what imap.gmail is. I have also lost data which was contained on my diary which I believe is linked to the problem. Does anyone recognise this problem?

imap.gmail is the Google mail server. It doesn't recognize the password that is stored in the iPhone. The problem is that the password or email address you have in Settings for the gmail account is wrong. If you changed the password somewhere else that is the reason. You need to go to Settings/Mail,Contacts,Calendar, tap on the gmail account and enter the correct password. You also need to change it for outgoing mail in Settings.

  • Can't send or receive e-mail on EDGE network

Just recently I can't send or receive e-mail on the EDGE network - both work fine on WIFI though.
Safari and all other features work fine on EDGE and WIFI so it's an e-mail issue. I am using an IMAP account, no SSL, Incoming port 143, Outgoing port 587. After trying to connect for some time, sometimes I get a "cannot connect to server" message but usually no message at all.
I would really appreciate some advice

Am in Olympia WA for the holiday - I live in San Diego - I agree started two days ago. I spent 3 hours with Apple Support - they conferenced in ATT and they were no help. Eventually - I did a restore and did not change a thing. Am using 1.1.2.
Something happened late monday as it was fine sat - mon night. Since I do not live in WA - I assume things will be OK when I return to CA. Giving ATT a call might help - but you will definately need to get it escalated to a higher level.
I have sent this forum link to the great apple T3 support person that spent so much time with me - hopefully he will forward on to ATT and it will get resolved for all of you. Something did change on Monday night.

  • Exchange Server 2010 - Problem configuring my server 2008 so my clients can use Outlook to send/receive e-mails

    Hi,
I am new to the servers and domains stuff. Therefore i have setup succesfully a Server 2008 R2 server with AD, DHCP, DNS roles installed. I configured the roles as i wanted and then i installed Exchange Server 2010 so the clients can use Outlook to send
receive mails in and out of the domain.
I can send/receive mails inside the domain (disalfa.com) but i cannot send/receive mails outside the domain. I configured the Exchange properly, i am sure of that. I am 99,9% i did something wrong with the DNS (A records, MX records, etc.).
Also is there something i must do from the control panel of the site i purchased the domain name and the mails?
Can someone guide me so i can manage to work this out?
    Server 2008 -  192.168.1.250
    Registered Domain - disalfa.com
    Thank you in advance

    Hi ,
I recommend you refer to the following article to configure your external mail flow:
Configure Internet Mail Flow Directly Through a Hub Transport Server
    Prerequisites
Register MX resource records for all accepted domains in a public domain name system (DNS) server. Consult the documentation of your DNS provider for information about how to register MX records for your domain. Detailed procedures about how to complete
this step are outside the scope of this topic.
Configure network gateways to allow SMTP traffic to and from the Hub Transport server. Consult the documentation for your network routers and firewalls for information about how to route SMTP traffic to and from the Hub Transport server. Detailed procedures
about how to complete this step are outside the scope of this topic.

  • With full reception I cant send/receive texts or make/receive calls

This started 2 days ago randomly, even with reception I cant send or receive or make or receive calls. It doesnt happen all the time, but very frustrating. I phoned vodafone and they suggested a network reset, doesnt help. I also tried taking the sim out and putting it back again. Nothing works! Any ideas?

Can you dial *228 option 1 and reprogram the phone?  If that also kicks you out, you may want to take the phone to your nearest Corporate Verizon store or call Customer Service if you have another phone that's working correctly.  There may be an outage in your area or something similar going on at Verizon's end.

  • My ISP tells me I need to I need to change the port to send/receive e-mails, but I can't remember my Mail password to add an account. How can I proceed without the password?

My ISP tells me I need to change the port to send/receive mail, as the current port is going to be disabled for security reasons. But I can't remember my Mail password to add an account. How can I add an account when I don't remember my password? It's been several years.

your email password is with your ISP so they can help. but if it is saved in the email app you can just change the ports in the preferneces without a password.

  • CFMAIL -- How to send an e-mail to a network folder

    Guys,
I am using Cold Fusion 7.0 and I have the functionality in the website where an e-mail is generated (i.e based on some changes or actions) and that e-mail goes to a folder in the Outlook right now.
Instead of sending the email (which is generated through the website) to the outlook, I need to send it to a folder on network drive (ex: G/Emails).
Is this possible, if so could you please help me out how to achive this.?
    Thanks

    Have a look at <cffile>: http://livedocs.adobe.com/coldfusion/7/htmldocs/00000254.htm
Bear in mind that by default the CF server which will be doing the file oepration runs on the local system account which will not have access to any network resources, so you will have to start the CF service with an account that does have permissions to the resources in question.
Also not that your reference to G: is probably just something your login script maps for you when you login to your desktop... the CF server probably isn't going to have a G: drive, so you will need to access the other server's file system via a UNC, eg: \\otherserver\share\path\to\directory

  • Sateillite A200-1A9: Issue with sending/receiving E-mail using Windows Mail

Using Windows mail I have to close/open the programme to be able to send mails, they get stuck in the Outbox. By closing and reopening the programme the mail gets sent. Also the Blue figure 1 in brackets showning 1 unread mail in the Outbox is there all the time although there is no mails read or unread in the Outbox
Not a server problem as all mails are going/receiving fine on my desktop.
Pressing send and receive button does not help. although some of the time it will receive mails when pressing send/receive but will not send them
I do have Norton Internet security 2007 and am getting fed up with the continuing problems that this seems to cause over the period 2004-7.
Is there an issue with the Windows mail programme running with Vista that is known

    I think I have found a solution
    Please check this:
Windows Mail will not Send or Receive mails

It seems that the update of Software Desktop SMS to the newest version will help to sort out this problem.

  • I cant send tiscali e-mails from my ipad2. All settings seem correct, can anyone help?

    Hi,
I have tried setting up my Tiscali account on my Ipad2. I have spoken to a TalkTalk advisor who talked me through the set up. To test the settings she asked me send myself a mail (ipad to laptop and vice versa). This worked, however, I tried sending a friend a mail and she did not receive anything. This is starting to annoy me now.
Can anyone suggest anything that I could try?

Is there a copy of the email you sent to your friend in the SENT folder? Did you receive a copy of it in your INBOX? You should if you have it set up to do that - Settings, Mail.... always Bcc myself.
Try sending another email to someone else eg., [email protected]
