Cant send texts or make calls from europe (EE Extra plan)

Hi there. i recently signed up for an EE extra contract that allows me to make phonecalls nad recieve texts while traveling in the EU. since arriving my hpone has been usleess- unable to send texts or make/recieve calls (including to EE themselves) i'm at a loss. I've read that i may need to turn roming on before leaving the country (thanks for the heads up EE :/) i've tried going to 'manage my device' as i read on these forums, but theres no option to turn on roaming. any help is greatly apreciated, i'm feeling pretty frustrated at the moment

Hi,
You need to call EE on +44 (0) 7953 966 250 and activate roaming. You may need to pay a refundable deposit if your have only just taken out the contract.

My phone had to go back for repair of a cracked screen, and since I have had it back, it wont send texts or make calls. I have internet access and can receive texts and calls.
I have rebooted in safe mood, cleared messaging data as per previous advice but still no joy.

If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

My phone signal shows 3 bars yet i cant send texts or make calls!

are there any reported problems with the Iphone 5 Antenna? when im at home (in the past a great signal!) i have 2 or 3 bars and when i try and text or call it just freezes and will not connect, i turn the phone off and back on with no echange! it seems to work everywhere else! any help would be much appreciated.

I have placed a different sim card in old iphone 3gs and now cannot send text nor make calls. I get the following error message "error in pdp authentication" I am in italy and old cip vas vodafone. new cip is tim

As stated I live in italy, a year ago have purchased an iphone 3gs from vodafone company. I now have purchased an Iphone 4 and have moved that cip in the new phone.
In the old Iphone 3gs I have placed another cip from a different company here in Italy TIM and now cannot make calls nor send text messages since I get the following error message "error in pdp authentication". Can anyone help me in understanding what do I need to do??

Wont send texts or make calls?

My blackberry got a "RVM error 343" so I downloaded the desktop softwear, connected my blackberry and updated all settings. This allowed me to access my blackberry and when i put my sim card in i could send and receive texts fine but I didn't have blackberry messenger, so I connected it back up to the computer and added messenger onto the applications. So now I have messenger but I can't do anything at all on the phone - calls "fail", texts pend for a while then just fail. I tried wiping everything but it doesn't do anything, I also tried reconnecting to Orange but that didn't do anything either. The sim card works fine in my other phone so I know it isn't a problem with the sim card or Orange.

You can try using the following article to do a reset to factory on your device, http://bbry.lv/a0QXmX. Before you do the reset to factory you can backup your device using this article http://bit.ly/aSediX. Once this is complete test again before restoring your data to see if you are able to make calls and send text messages. If this does not work then you are going to want to contact your service provider to see if they need to enable a setting on the SIM card to make it work.

Why can't I send MMS or Makes calls from home, signal is fine.

My wife is having an issue with her Verizon iPhone 4s, it seems that when ever she is in our neighborhood she can not send mms or make phone calls, but as soon as she leaves the neighborhood her phone works fine. Here's the kicker, it seems like she can send/call to iDevice's just fine. We have tried with a network signal update by calling I think *221, that didn't work either. Anyone have any ideas? This started about 2 weeks ago

Cant send or receive texts or make calls on my Samsung Intensity II

It started around 8am CST I cant send or receive texts not make calls. I get an automated response to hang up and dial *611 but after doing that I get the same automated response saying the call couldnt be completed as dialed and to hang up and dial *611. The bill is paid in full btw.

Can you dial *228 option 1 and reprogram the phone? If that also kicks you out, you may want to take the phone to your nearest Corporate Verizon store or call Customer Service if you have another phone that's working correctly. There may be an outage in your area or something similar going on at Verizon's end.

I cant send texts to a non iphone from my 4s, get message tp resend using 10 digit number or valid short code. msg 2114 I am using 10 digits and have tried 7 digits

Contact your carrier. SMS is a carrier function and they would be the one that would be providing the error. Have them make sure your account is provisioned correctly for SMS. You might also want to double-check your settings for Dial Assist.

Cant send texts

I haqve just moved to Tenerife and got a movistar sim. I can recieve calls and texts but cant send texts. I have tried to resend the service books but it wont allow me saying "your device had a problem connecting to the server". When i try send a text it says "requested facility not implented". What do I do?

Text messages, such as SMS? Those are not enabled by Service Books.
I found this:
Cause No. 50 - requested facility not subscribed.
This cause indicates that the user has requested a supplementary service which is implemented by the equipment which generated this cause but the user is not authorized to use.
What it means:
The switch looks at the number being dialed and thinks it is for another service rather than ISDN. If the phone number is put in the correct format, the call should be placed properly. There are no standards for this, all Telcos have their own system for programming the number formats that the switches will recognize. Some systems want to see 7 digits, some 10, and others 11.
I'd recommend you call Movistar and see if there are SMS encoding settings or a switch they must make on their end.

International call from Europe to USA, via WiFi connection on DROID X......for FREE....?

Hi, can anyone tell me if the DROID X will be able to make a call FROM Europe TO the USA via a WiFi connection .... for FREE? Conceptually, I would think it would work.... but, I'm no "techie"......

Hi. I will be happy to answer your question regarding making a call using a Wifi connection. There is no application that comes with the phone that will allow you to do so. All calls can only be made through our 3G network. You can also check the application market on your phone to see if you see an application that fits your needs.

I had the same problem three days ago and now it is solved I was advised to try the following:
Go to settings - General - Date & Time - switch off the "Set Automatically" option and adjust the time zone manually.

I love the phone, I've had it almost a week now and the communication possibilities are endless. My job just got so much easier. Today however, I received an SMS from someone and then I was going to try to call them and realized that I could not do it. On my old Android, all I had to do was swipe the message. But that did not work here. I have been searching in Google and here under the following titles:
“Make calls from message threads”
“Ring from SMS”
I have found nothing. Part of the problem is always coming up with the right search words. Surely one should be able to dial the number of a recieved SMS Thread without having to memorize the number. I also have had the problem of being unable to send longer SMS/Chat messages but I shall try turning off the WiFi as some have met with success with that measure
My last problem is with Nokia’s City Lens. It worked fine the first 3 days that I had it, but now it won’t go past the Figure 8 page.
Happy to report that battery life gets better and better with every charge. It's fun to be a telephone pioneer, I'm happy to be at the forefront for once instead of at the back. All my Iphone friends gawked at the new phone saying "What is that?"

Figured out the City Lens problem too. I have the phone i a Black Vegan Folio Wallet Case even though the lens and camera are not covered by the case, the remainder of the backside is covered by a black plastic cóver. City Lens works out of the case, but not in it.

I did not face any problems with my earlier phone. The numbers that I can send texts to, the msgs are always delivered to them.
And the to the numbers that I cannot send texts, they always fail and give me this "Message Send Failure".
