Cant seperate two pages

Hey there, I'm just about finished this large project I'm working on in pages, and just realized that there is an extra blank, white page as page 2. When I click on it in the list of thumbnails, it shows it as attached to page 1. I went through the help thing, and tried all the page break, column break things, and all it does, if anything, is add another white page. I clicked on the white page and hit "delete" multiple times, nothing happened.
How can I seperate page 1 from 2 and delete page 2?

I had the same problem and tried everything to get rid of that second page. The solution was to turn off wrap on an object that was near the bottom of the preceding page. You see, people will tell you to erase any objects, text, or returns from the page you want to get rid of, but even if nothing appears on that second page, some of the "wrap margin" from an object on the preceding page will carry over onto the next page. You won't see it, but it will be there and cause Pages to make a second page. Highlight the last object, photo, or textbox on the page before the one you want to be rid of, then go to Inspector>Wrap, and de-select the "object causes wrap" checkbox. Note that the "Text Fit" section of the Wrap Inspector allows you to adjust the size of the "Wrap Margin". Once there is no object that has a wrap carrying over onto the second page, it should disappear. Note to Apple: please put this advice into the Help for Pages.

    I arrived here looking for a solution!  And while reading your post the penny dropped that I didn't have a serious problem.  I have a booklet of 112 pages and all I needed to do was re-order the pages as printed so that 1 is followed by a sheet with 2 on the under-face but same side and so on.  The pages had printed back to front and needed flipping.  But then I have a duplex printer and maybe that makes a difference.  Is it to do with your manual duplexing and the order that the second pass is presented to the printer.  As my duplex sheets effectively needed flipping over each one I'm wondering if you can solve your problem with a little experimentation and re-ordering before your second pass.

  • How can I have two pages in the same Oracle Drive Path?

    I have been using OracleDrive for some time to publish a specific kind of document once every week.
    Now I have on my front page a content area that show the newest 3 of these documents. However, I'd like to place a link at the bottom that says "Show All", and that should link to a page that shows all my items in this folder.
    So basically I want to have two pages that are based on the same folder..
    How can I achieve this behaviour?

    When you say two monitors do you mean two separate computers (like 2 iMacs)?
    If you mean 2 seperate macs then you could either:
    Use a network keyboard / mouse sharing program like Teleport: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/14042/teleport

    I'd be happy to help with your Deskjet 2040 on your Windows 8.1 computer, I just need a bit more information to do so!
    What program are you trying to print from that it does 2 pages instead of 1? Are you printing from the Internet or using say Word?
    Where do you print PDF's from (example: do you use Adobe?)?
    What happens when you try to print them? Do you get an error? If so, what does it say?
    As you're using Windows, I'd suggest while I await your response that you try downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor and follow any suggestions it may have to offer. If it fails on anything please let me know.

    In two page view preview shows the first page on its own. I have recently downloaded an ebook which has image based tutorials and the pages are in such a way that pages 3 and 4 should be seen next to each other. Preview seems to want to have pages 1 on its own therefore making this rather difficult. Any help on resolving this issue would be appreciated.

    Try selecting the first page, and then from the "Edit" menu select "insert blank page". This should put a blank page at the beginning of the document, shifting all pages down one and putting them in the order you want for your display.

    I have a HP P6 2000 UKM computer, running windows 7 and it has a DVI D socket as well as the standard VGA (which i am using for my primary monitor)  I have got the right DVI  to VGA adaptor and have followed various instructions to set up duel disply but every tutorial i have seen says use the multiple display option,  but the option dropdown box is not there!
    Iv'e tried two different monitors but he same problem. If my graphics card does not suport 2 monitors then why is there a DVI D socket?
    Have never had this problem in the past!

    Please post the exact HP product number for your PC.
    VGA is analog and DVI-D is digital.  If you have two monitors then one of them needs to support a digital video signal if you want to use two monitors

  • How can I make some pages in a PDF display in single-page view and others in two-page (facing) view?

    Exactly as it says on the tin. I am looking to save a PDF magazine/book layout in such a way so that when opened, only the front and back covers open to the viewer in single-page mode, and the rest of the pages in two-page facing mode, without re-printing the in-between pages in booklet format  and re-inserting them into a new PDF (with the front and back covers left separate and untouched, and included as single portrait-orientation pages). This is so that individual pages can still be printed (on a physical printer, not a "virtual" one like a PDF driver), as-is without having the page next to it included, or the printouts always requiring landscape orientation (resulting with two "pages" from the PDF showing up on one sheet of paper).
    So when the PDF is opened, I want just the front and back cover to be auto-viewed by themselves, and the content (the "meat" of the document) viewed side-by-side, as though one were actually reading a "book" -- but without actually re-doing the content pages to be "fused" side-by-side. Thus creating the "illusion" that they are, in fact, in booklet form. Is this possible, to have different page-display settings for different pages/page ranges in a single PDF? If so, how is this done? If not, what would be my best course of action otherwise to achieve this "virtual" book layout, while still retaining the "physical" structure of the document and allowing individual pages to be printed by themselves rather than "fused" together?

    I can't find a simple solution to my situation...
    I'm using Max OSX Lion 10.7.3 and Adobe Reader X 10.1.2. 
    I want print two PDF pages onto one printed sheet, and I want to print front and back.  When I go to the print settings and select two pages per printed sheet, the sample window shows me what I'm looking for.  But when I tell it to print odd only or even only, it changes the print selection.  Here's what happens...
    Let's say I have a PDF document that is 20 pages long.  When I tell it to print two PDF pages per sheet, it shows me that the first pages printed will be PDF pages 1 and 2.  When I tell it that I want it to print odd pages only, it tells me that the first printed page will contain PDF pages 1 and 3.
    In other words, Adobe Reader wants to print the odd PDF pages instead of the odd pages of the printed document (PDF pages 1 and 2, then 5 and 6, then 9 and 10, so on).
    So that I'm being clear...
    This [  ] is a printed page.  The numbers inside the brackets represent the page numbers in the PDF document...
    What I want to print is this...
      FRONT   ||  BACK

    Aside from telling it exactly which PDF page numbers to print (this would be a taxing job because I'm working with a 273 page document), is there an easy and simple way to print how I'd like?

    I would suggest to use Adobe Ilustrator. Also I get an error message when I try tp access the sample document.

    I just purchased this product (acrobat online)
    and it is not allowing me to do the things it promised, e.g. saving portions of one pdf to another, combining pages or entire docuements to create, even typing into a document (editing)! I am so frustrated - can someone please help!?

    But I jut paid $89.00 for the adobe pack - if I subscribe to Acrobat Plus, will that be credited?

    Thank you for your subscription.  If you are Acrobat Plus subscriber then you can extract the pages from the PDF file using Tools> Pages> Extract pages.
    You can find "Tools" at right top once you open your PDF file in Acroat.
    If you are subscriber to PDF Pack then please download Acrobat XI Plus from www.adobe.com.
    PDF Pack service offers "Convert to PDF", "Export from PDF"(to Word/PowerPoint/Excel/RTF formats so that you can edit the exported files) and "Combine Files" (combine your files into a single PDF file).
    Please let me know if you have any quesitons.

  • How do I separate the pages in a two-page spread?

    I am using an InDesign document I created a couple of years ago as a template to build a similar 50 page 11x17 (8.5x11 folded) document.
    While I like working with the two-page spread on my big display, I don't have a printer that prints 11x17, so I want to be able to separate the pages from each other once in  awhile to print it out, but need to know that I can easily return it to the spread state, both for while I continue to work on the doc and for the printer I'll be turning this over to upon completion.
    I'm guessing there's a really easy way to do this, but I haven't been able to find it.

    This actually suggests that you do NOT have a double-page spread (which in InDesign consists of two separate pages, which only happen to be viewed side by side) but instead have a single large double-sized page, on which you are drawing the contents of two pages.
    If so, that's a huge problem because you created your document the wrong way ... And it's not easily fixed either.
    If not, then it would seem you are printing full spreads by default -- it's a checkbox in the print dialog. Simply uncheck it, and you can print one page at a time.

    You can increase the font size and automatically page view changes. Go to menubar; Reading -> PDF View or Epub Text Size (depending upon the ebook) and increase the size.
