Cant setup my Office 365 mail account

Anyone having troubles syncing  their Office 365 account? I enter correct domain/server/user name data but the thing keeps rejecting my username/password, although they are correct.

  • How do I get Thunderbird to connect to a properly-configured Office 365 mail account after shutting down and then restarting the client?

I get my Office 365 account set up and working in Thunderbird. I can download and send mail just fine using the auto-detect or manual account settings recommended by Microsoft/Outlook/Office 365. Everything appears to be working as it should as long as the client stays open. When I shut the Thunderbird client down and restart it, it can no longer access the Office 365 mail account. I get a popup error message:
The current operation on 'Inbox' did not succeed. The mail server for account (my Office 365 account) responded: User is authenticated but not connected.
It has no problem connecting to Hotmail, Gmail and other email services, and I can access Office 365 through the web client, but Thunderbird refuses to connect. If I remove the account and re-add it, I can have full access to my email again, but only as long as Thunderbird stays open. If the client gets restarted, it's gone again.
    How do I fix this?

I think you might be having a cached password problem. I was having it and was able to resolve by deleting my stored password in Thunderbird. I referenced

  • Can't connect to Office 365 mail account via Apple Mail (Exchange)

I recently upgraded to OS X Yosemite, but had this problem before upgrading as well. I have an Office 365 mail account, but cannot sync it via Apple Mail. I went into my Apple Mail accounts and tried connecting my Office 365 account through the Exchange option, but it will not connect. From my knowledge, this is not an uncommon problem but it is very inconvenient. Is there any way to get around the glitch, or anything I should be doing differently? I do know a couple people with Office 365 accounts who have been able to make it work, but they apparently did not do anything differently when setting up their account.

Sometimes this issue is caused by a misconfiguration or incompatibility of the Exchange server, or perhaps by a bug in Mail. If so, you won't be able to resolve it yourself. The fact that your iOS devices may be working well with the same account isn't relevant, because iOS uses a completely different protocol (ActiveSync) to communicate with Exchange servers. By default, OS X Mail uses the EWS protocol.
Each of the following steps has been reported to help with Exchange issues, at least temporarily, in some cases:
    1. Back up all data. Open the Internet Accounts pane in System Preferences and check to make sure you don't have duplicate Exchange accounts. If you do, delete all but one of the duplicates. If there are no duplicates, delete the account and recreate it with the same settings.
    2. Rebuild the affected mailbox.
    3. Reindex messages.
    4. Follow the instructions in this support article to disable autodiscovery. You may need to get configuration details from the server administrator.
    5. In the Keychain Access application, delete the password item for the account. The next time Mail tries to access the account, you'll be prompted for the password. Check the box to save it in the Keychain.
    6. If you've created subfolders of the Exchange inbox, log in to the server through its web interface, move the messages out, and remove the subfolders. The inbox should have no subfolders.
    7. Synchronize with the server using IMAP rather than EWS. This is only possible if IMAP is enabled on the server.
    8. Consider using Outlook instead of Mail to access your Exchange mail.

  • Office 365 Exchange Account Deleted & Overwritten?

I've run into a problem where I need to recover an Office 365 Exchange account, but it doesn't exist in Deleted Accounts. Below is a summary of the events leading up to this problem:
An Office 365 account was deleted
A shared mailbox (using the exact same email address as the deleted account in step 1) was created
It was determined that there were email and contacts that needed to be saved from the original account
In the Deleted Mailboxes list, the deleted mailbox did not exist
    The shared mailbox was deleted
In the Deleted Mailboxes list, the deleted shared mailbox existed, but not the original
I'm currently in the process of using eDiscovery to try to recover the email from the account, but is there a way to actually recover the original account at this point?
I realize that the smarter option would have been to convert the original account into a shared mailbox, but at the time none of the old data was needed. Deleting the account was an easy way to clean out all of the old data.

  • Office 365 mapping accounts so that Dirsynch is connecting correctly.

    LS,
We have Users in O365 (mail) There is no sync to the local AD system (so users have 2 userID's, one for logging on the PC in the local intranet and one for their O365 mailbox)
We want to create a new Active Directory forest. The users created in O365 we want to 'export' e.g. first name, lastname, E-mail address etc and use to populate the new AD forest.
When this is filled we want to start the dirsync tool.
What extra actions have to be done so that the users are mapped to the already create O365 users. (I don't want new accounts created unless that a can map them in O365). In the future we don't want to manage the account in O365 only from AD on premise.
    Regards,
    Peter

  • Office 365 & Microsoft Account directory merge

The Azure account is managed and run by a Microsoft Account user. The same user has a Office 365 subscription so it has an work/organization account as well. Because the Microsoft sign-in pages are confused and messed up if a user needs to use different
accounts for different services (for example, when the user tries to go to portal.azure.com, it is sometimes automatically logged in using the Office 365 account which naturally does not work in Azure), we are thinking of merging these two directories
under one account. Based on the following articles it should be possible:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/dn629581.aspx
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/dn629580.aspx
However, some crucial information are missing:
It is possible to rollback the merge (decouple/untrust the two directories) later on? How?
    Based on
http://blogs.windows.com/business/2014/11/07/windows-10-manageability-choices/ the Windows 10 will (finally) support Azure AD accounts. Will it work flawlessly or this merge will make some issues (currently, we are using Microsoft Account to sign-in
to Windows 8.1) or lost functionality (for example, user will need to choose whether to log-in with Microsoft Account and live without Azure AD dependent functionality like auto-login to Office 365 apps/services or vice versa)?
Are there anything else we should be aware of?

    Hi,
    Thanks for your post.
It is possible to integrate Windows Azure account with an Office 365 account and here are the steps you must follow:
Logon to the Windows Azure Portal
    https://manage.windowsazure.com.
Click on Application Services | Active Directory | Directory | Custom Create.
Change the Directory dropdown from the default
Create new directory to Use existing directory
    and click the Check box.
Next you are logged out of the Windows Azure administrative account and you are redirected to the Windows Azure Active Directory logon.
Logon with a Global Administrator account from the Office 365 tenant that you would like to integrate.
After sign in you are prompted to add the Windows Azure administrator account as a global administrator for the Office 365 Tenant directory, click on
    Continue.
Logout of the Office 365 global administrator account and then logon to
https://manage.windowsazure.com with your global administrator account.
I did not find any MS article about rollback the merge.
For the Account related issue, i think you may ask Azure support:
    http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/support/options/
    Regards.

  • Office 365 mail stuck in OUTBOX

    Hi,
We recently upgraded our Exchange Environment to Office 365. Suddenly my users started complaining e-mails would be stuck in OUTBOX. It would say sending but the bar would load forever. The only way to stop this is to restart OUTLOOK and then the mails would
be sent. All the new emails would be received too.
On the web I found out that people that were using a DLINK router had to turn off SPI. We were using a DLINK router too but we didn't have the SPI turned on. But to be sure I swapped the DLINK with a Cisco. The problem still persists.
    http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/382519-outlook-stuck-on-outbox-if-left-idle
I also deleted some users' OST file and would reload it to see if this would improve the situation. Also this didn't help.
All my users surf via a squid proxy server. I don't and I never had the problem, so I changed my settings so I would surf via the squid proxy server and I also experienced the problem. I found this article on technet.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/onthewire/archive/2014/03/04/network-perimeter-tcp-idle-session-settings-for-office-365.aspx
I was wondering if there are other sysadmins out there who experienced the same problem with using Office 365 and squid. Do you have any solution for it? Because I haven't found one yet.
    Kind regards,
    Michael

    Hi Mike,
How about sending emails to external via OWA on your laptop and desktop?
If working well in OWA, it seems an issue on the Outlook 2013 client side.
Please try to run Outlook under the safe mode to avoid some AVs and add-ins.
Please try to re-create profile to refresh the caches.
If not working in OWA, since Exchange 2013 is different from Office 365, I suggest ask Office 365 forum for help so that we can get more professional suggestions.
    For your convenience:

Also suggest collecting detailed error from App log.

  • Migration from gmail to office 365 mail box.

Recently, I migrated gmail to office 365.
After I migrated to office 365, outlooks mail box size is almost double of gmail mail box.
ex: One of the user had 26gb data in gmail , aft the migration his exchange online mailbox became 46 gb.
    any ideas?
    Sutha Thavaratnarajah

Both Office 365 and Gmail uses different systems. Sometimes its normal that size of the mailbox to  increase after migration. But in this case its too high so I request you to check for Folder named GMAIL
    in the user's Mailbox

  • HT201320 Setup a 2nd e mail account

Trying to setup AOL e mail and settings opens then closes also can't open contacts

Another couple of things that you could try before going down to Brighton is to close the Settings 'app' completely and see if you can add the account when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Settings app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Settings app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
The second thing to try is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Why cant i set up a mail account?

I have a yahoo account but i keep getting this message when i try and set it up
Cannot get mail - The username or password for "imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com" is incorrect
I know the username and password is fine.
    What can it be??

    i just figured it out
you need to go to mail options in yahoo
http://help.yahoo.com/tutorials/cg/mail/cg_access4.htmlthe go back to iPhone settings
    outgoing (SMTP) mail server.
Here are the basic server settings for Yahoo! Mail:
Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com (Use SSL, port: 995)
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com (Use SSL, port: 465, use authentication)
Account Name/Login Name: Your Yahoo! Mail ID (your email address without the "@yahoo.com")
Email Address: Your Yahoo! Mail address (e.g., [email protected])
    Password: Your Yahoo! Mail password
If you can't add new POP or SMTP servers, you'll need to change your current server settings to access your Yahoo! Mail Plus account. Write down your current settings first—you might need to revert to them later if you decide to send and receive messages from your other email addresses.
Your other email program will give you the option of either deleting your Yahoo! messages from the Yahoo! server after downloading them, or leaving them on the Yahoo! server so you can see them online in your Yahoo! account, too.
add acount: other enter all new outgoing and incoming settings
    then you good to go
