Cant start firefox

Hi there, i need your help...
I am using firefox for about 4 years nowadays, but i never faced this problem.
I unfortunately installed some third party program and my firefox now cant start... I tried to uninstall it, then install it again, nothing happened... When i reinstalled, at the first start of the firefox (automatical), it was working fine. But when i close and try to start again, it just shows this : http://prntscr.com/47isog
And i cant do anything... when i try to close it or change its size, it just freezes and windows reports that its not responding. I am using windows 7 64bit...
+ i have got some "search protect" appication that i did not install, but its here in my computer.... Its something that changes my homepage to some weird sites, and i can uninstall it... I was looking for help on the internet, but i only discovered that its some malware, i cant see it in control panel... And when i right click on it (on the bottom of the screen)it does nothing. It looks like this http://prntscr.com/47itne
When i double click it with left mouse button, it does nothing. I think it may be somehow connected to the firefox problems... When i start another explorer, i see there is some addon http://prntscr.com/47iuaz
But i cant remove it, i tried to uninstall, but its still there.... :/ can you help me somehow please?
I tried to restart PC too... I could not find any solutions on the forums, if i am wrong please redirect me or something... Thank you very much

actually its a same problem to me , but a different way . actually i install my pc back and idm and it cant open till today , im sorry please give us advise , because im using firefox in my internship program

  • Upgraded libx*** and now i cant start firefox [Solved]

Well i did a pacman -Syu , noticed lots of x libs upgrading and then rebooted , now i cant start firefox , this is the terminal output
The program 'firefox-bin' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)'.
    (Details: serial 1033 error_code 1 request_code 154 minor_code 2)
    (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
Any ideas how to fix this ??

  • Cant start firefox. Uninstall and reinstall don't help

It seems I got a virus that stopped firefox from opening and created ad pop ups on explorer everytime I open a new window. No software detects and corrects the virus so I restored the computer to before the infection but firefox still won't open even after I uninstalled and reinstalled it. I prefer not to use explorer for web browsing. How do I get firefox to open again?

  • Why cant I even start Firefox?

This problem happened when I updated Firefox. The server crashed and could not even be opened to the startup page.
The mozilla Crash reporter is always shown.
I have deleted the software and re-downloading firefox several times but failed.
The same crash reporter is shown everytime I reinstall firefox.
It is impossible to open firefox at all!

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js [2] and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

  • I cant access firefox, everytime i try i get that windows can't find the file, i tried redownloading it but it still gave me the same message?

i cant access firefox, everytime i try i get that windows can't find the file, i tried downloading it again but it still gave me the same message. the problem has nothign to do with my internet because it wonks on internet explorer and everythign is fine, my computer just can't access firefox for some reason. i tried uninstallign ti adn then installing it again, but that didnt work, i tried installing a different version and it still didnt work.
okay the exact message is" Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files\Mozilla Forefox 4.0 Beta 1\firefox.exe'. make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.
Nothing happens after i install is the "Launch Firefox now" checkbox set, the same message comes up.
i usually start firefox from the shortcut i have on my desktop but when this happened i thought that the shortcut is the problem, but i went to the Mozilla firefox folder and tried it from there, but it didnt work. i also tried downloading different versions of firefox but that didnt work either.

can you tell me the solution to "windows cant find firefox" error. thanks.

  • When I start Firefox I get an error message

When I go to start Firefox I double-click the icon and it says 'Windows cannot find X:/lib/deploy/jqs/ff/../../../../bin/jqsnotify.exe' with X being the letter of the hard drive.
Also as a quick side note: whenever I try to use a web page that uses java (ej: RuneScape) Firefox will automatically crash without warning.
I would be grateful to receive an answer to both of these questions.
    Thanks,
    Daniel
P.S. I noticed that I am asked to 'Enter the text from the Tools > Addons > Extensions panel' and when I click on 'Add-ons' Firefox will crash.

    Hi Daniel,
Sounds like you have a broken install of Java. Try uninstalling all versions of Java from Control Panel -> Add / Remove Programs, and then installing Java again.
Try disabling the Java Quick Starter in Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions / Plug-ins. (If still crashing, try doing it in [[Safe Mode]])
Do you see a Mozilla Crash Reporter dialog when you crash?
For us to see your crash report that you have submitted:
#Go to '''about:crashes''' in the Location Bar.
#Copy the blue links (beginning with bp-) and paste them here.
Finally, for further info, see [[Using the Java plugin with Firefox]].

  • I can't click anything when i start Firefox up...

I've had mozilla firefox for quite a while now and i've never had any trouble until now... when i start firefox up i can do NOTHING i cant write click anything or even use short bcommands. Its just like a picture (with some moving things) that i can't do anything on... Does anyone have a solution? (Btw im on explorer right now and it works just fine)

    Hi Xylax,
I'd try starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. You should look at the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting-extensions-themes Extensions and Themes troubleshooting guide ] and the [[Troubleshooting plugins]] article as well.
    Hopefully this helps!

Dennis - i just finished my audition trial and bought the subscription the 2014 version.

DURIM - Okay.  I would expect the "Cache Warning" message because your default directories would not be the same as the ones in the settings file I generated.
If you go back to the "7.0" directory and open the "Logs" folder, can you copy the "Audition Log.txt" file and send it as an attachment to [email protected]?  We'll take a look in that logfile and see if it gives us more information about why this is failing now.
Also, do you have any other Adobe applications installed on this machine, such as Premiere Pro?  If so, do they launch as expected or fail as well?
I do have the trial Pro version of Adobe reader, but I have not activated it, because I fear the same thing will happen did it. I cannot afford to activate the subscription for that product and take the chance of it not working either. I depend on those two programs religiously. Here is the files that you requested. I appreciate any help you can give me to get this audition program started

    See:

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Hi, I don't know who to turn to: the person who handles all the compter stuff is out of town, This A.M.I started up Firefox and there was a message re an update, I thoght I new just to click on install and wait to re start Firefox. But what I can remember is that another window opened and asked me to choose 'something' (an icon or banner or?), I thought I must click something (I guess I should read all clearly). Firefox did update to 3.6.4, but it also inserted some sort of what might be called a banner? But it only partly covers the right one- half of my 3 toolbars at the top of the Firefox window. It can't be used for anything as it is just a mess of colors and unknowns, except what looks like a 'top' and what I recognize as a Firefox icon (but only partly visible)!! Now, what it does do is partly hide that whole portion of the toolbars and they are hard to read and in turn make this 'thing' impossible to figure out, if I would care to? I can't find anyway to remove it or use it?? But since the Firefox icon is on it, I guess you should know what it is and how to trash it. I am sorry for this occurrence caused my my carelessness, but I'm not much of a computer person ----HELP! Thank you for any help. Judi

The only thing I can imagine: it's a [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/personas/ Persona].
    Tools->Add-ons->Themes
Here should be the persona (lightweight theme)
    and a button "Remove"
Click it (button Remove), and it (Persona, this mix of colors) should go away instantly.
    Does it help you?

Every time I TRY to start firefox 18-19 I get an error message : "Firefox has stopped working" - "close the program and check online for a solution" - or - "close the program" this happens TWICE every time I try to start firefox. Eventually after a random number of tries firefox will start normaly. I am useing firefox 19.0.2 now bit I belive it started when I upgraded to firefox 18 but am not sure, it might have been when I upgraded to firefox 19 ... but it has been happening for a very long time and I cannot find any helpfule solutions online.
I have tried a Clean reinstall but it did not help.

    Hello,
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''
    Thank you.
