  • ITunes won't sync videos to iPod (no "Movies" tab in iTunes either)

Hey... I really hope you could help me somehow, I'm really desperate..
So few days ago I was able to sync videos to iPod 30GB and everything went well. When I added some more videos to iTunes and connected iPod in order to sync those videos everything stopped working. All of my music and pics are still in the iPod, but videos are gone completely. There is no "Videos/Movies" tab in iTunes (iPod actually) nor "Images" tab... How can fix this??
    Thnx for your help...

I'm suspecting that you don't have the video iPod. Although your iTunes supports video, there is absolutely no reference to video on the iPod portion of the screen. Also, there's no Photo tab and no Games tab.
Further, the iPod software version number is completely out of whack. The latest version for the Generation-5 iPod is 1.2.1 yet you have 6.0. Finally, your serial number doesn't look quite right. I have absolutely confirmed that that is not a serial number for the "late 2006 Generation-5" unit but I can't get sample serial numbers from the earlier Gen-5 units.

  • Cant drag video onto ipod downloaded from itunes

    Hi
Ive been downloading videos from itunes, for example "Joe Cartoon" podcast. I got the first few episodes onto my ipod fine, since then though i cant get videos onto the ipod. They download fine from itunes but when i try to drag them onto the ipod i get the black circle with the line through it. ive checked the info and they are mpeg4. Does anyone else have this problem or have any solutions?!
    thanks in advance

    Hello mizgeministarz,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
I only have a few suggestions for you, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to at least try. Have you tried accessing these TV shows outside the playlist they reside in? Just access them from the main list of TV Shows if at all possible or if that isn't what you are doing currently.
It might not hurt to also try to restore the iPod and start from scratch allowing fresh copies of the TV Shows to sync over to your iPod. There may have been a syncing issue that corrupted your TV Shows. If that isn't the case, your iPod is having trouble with the video playback.
    Hope this helps.

  • Wont sync videos to ipod.

Now i hope the answer to this is obvious and makes me look dumb, keep in mind ive never had an ipod that could play videos before, just the 1st gen nano, now i have an 80g classic. When trying to sync videos to my iPod it just says syncing, then syncing complete, but it shows no movies under the file or on my iPod. Ive tried auto syncing them and dragging them, it doesn't give me and error message, just says it completes and does nothing,
    Thanks

It is currently two Simpsons episodes i forget where i got, i believe they were downloaded, I know it should be TV shows but it shows them under movies. They work fine when i watch them on Quicktime, Windows media player, or when i watch them on itunes.

  • Syncing videos on ipod using Itunes

I don't know why but suddenly my Itunes preference won't let me select the video part to sync videos on my 5th gen ipod. I have 23 gb left on my ipod. When going into preference and selecting video on itunes, everything is greyed out and I cannot select. Please suggest. I could sync before, not anymore. thanks kidclam

Have your music update set as "manually manage songs and playlists"? This forces the video to be in manual mode as well which is why the box gets greyed out.

  • Having trouble syncing video to Ipod Classic 160GB

    Hi all,
Finally moved up to an Ipod after a few too many years with other brands...and am really enjoying the Ipod/Itunes combo for music.
Video's a different matter, though, and I could use your help!
I'm trying to get a few videos onto my Classic, and have converted them into MP4 format and put them in the "Movies" folder in Itunes (they show up alongside every video I've shot on my digital camera). My Ipod is set to sync automatically, and does so for music, but not for video. I was able to get the videos on using the instructions I found on http://www.ehow.com/how4925922download-videos-onto-ipod-classic.html , but the next time I synced music on my Ipod, it removed the videos I'd added.
Is there a way that I could add videos manually, and keep syncing music automatically, without the automatic syncing removing things that I added manually? Or could I set Itunes/Ipod up such that music is automatically queued for syncing, while videos need to be approved for syncing?
Basically, how can I get this to work?
    Many thanks for your help.

    Hello stopheles,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
How do you currently have your iPod set up to sync Videos? What settings do you have enabled from under the Videos tab for your iPod in iTunes? Specifically, the "Automatically sync (Select Option Here, e.g. all) movies" option on this tab.

  • Can sync video to ipod, but can't see it play

When I sync a podcast to itunes, it syncs into my ipod, but when I go to the ipod menu to play it, nothing happens. It is a MPEG4 file and you can see the name in the podcast directory, but when you select it, its blank. No video or sound.
    What gives?
    Thanks.

I think your keyfigure is a "Reference key figure", It is refering to another key figure. Check the keyfigure infoobject. You can create a new key figure (copy of reference key figure) and use it in DSO.
If it is a characterstic, then check whether "attribute only" flag is checked in the infoobject. Uncheck the flag and then it will come in the transformation.

  • ITunes wont sync videos to ipod

Ok, ive read the whole guide on the net on how to get stuff from the itunes to ipod...ive even managed to get all my songs into the ipod no problems...
but I cant get any videos to go...they are in iTunes just fine, iTunes seemed to convert anything that wasnt normal to a format it liked, and I get to the click yes point where it asks, are you sure you would like to sync your movies, you will lose all existing content etc... and I click OK, and then it gives me the, iTunes is updating the ipod, and then about 3 seconds later its done.
I eject, and have no videos on the ipod...im trying to get over 10 files into the ipod so theres no way it would take only 3 seconds.
    Whats going on?

If I had, it would only be because some guy on here posted a solution. Im not going to try again without help. Silly software...

  • Cant sync without wiping ipod?

Ok iv had a look at most posts now and cant find the answer i need.
Iv recently bought a new windows vista pc, my old pc no longer turns on. I have over 8k songs, videos and holiday videos on my ipod that i need to keep. However itunes wont let me transfer my ipods contents without wiping it. Any help please? I cant afford to have my ipod wiped. Iv managed to get the pictures off no problem by the usb folder in 'my computer'. Thanks alot

1). Connect your iPod to your computer. When you get the message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod.
2). When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
3). Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you only want to copy your purchases to the computer that can be done using iTunes, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
For everything else (including purchases) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:
Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Comparison of iPod managers
A selection of iPod to iTunes utilities:
TuneJack Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
SharePod Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    YamiPod Mac and Windows
iPod Music Liberator Mac & Windows
    Floola Mac & Windows
iPodRip Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Music Liberator Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
Music Rescue Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iGadget Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
4). Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.
5). I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

  • Problem syncing video to iPod Touch

I am trying to sync a video (.mp4) to my iPod Touch and it will not sync. I tried selecting the video in iTunes and then clicking Advanced>Create iPod or iPhone Version, but that option is greyed out (presumably because the video is already in an acceptable format for the iTouch).
I tried updating both my iTunes software and the software on my iTouch - and retried the steps above but no joy. The option is still greyed out.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

  • Cant view video on ipod

i can view them on my itunes but when i go and try to view them on my ipod my screen freezes and goes back to the selection menu
    help
    any suggestions?

I downloaded an episode of The Office the other night, and my family and I watched it on the computer. However, it would not appear on my iPod, even after updating several times. Here's what I did.> 1. After the download of the episode was complete, I updated my iPod in order to sync it into my videos.//2. To view the episode, I clicked on Videos on the Main Menu.//3. The "TV Shows" playlist isn't there, so I can't watch the episode on my iPod.//
I just got my iPod for Christmas, so I'm not an expert yet, but I have very little patience and am extremely frustrated with this issue. WHY WON'T TV SHOWS APPEAR IN MY VIDEOS ON MY IPOD???? (It's still in my iTunes!) WHY CAN'T I VIEW THE TV EPISODE ON MY IPOD????

  • Cant get videos on ipod

i bought 2 seasons from itunes and i cant get them on my ipod. this is the first time i bought any videos from itunes. i have tried converting them for ipod and it give me an error saying :

  • Unable to sync Videos to iPod Touch 1st Gen

Hi. I was trying to sync some movies to my iPod Touch 1st gen but it keep giving me this following error message.
"Movie" was not copied to the iPod "my iPod" because it cannot be played on this iPod.
However I tried the sync-ing the same movie to my iPhone and my newer iPod Touch 4th gen and it works. Only my 1st Gen iPod Touch couldn't sync it. Any solutions I could try? Thanks a lot!

Hello, it happened to me before - except its my iPod 4th Generation. Most of my videos or movies can be synced though, there are only a few that doesn't work. I'm not sure about the cause of the problem, maybe something like the iPod and the movie format is not compatible or something.. If you tried almost everything and it still doesn't work, maybe try creating an iMovie project and import your movie into it, then just export the iMovie so it puts the video in another video.. Not sure if it'll work, but worth a try
    Hope this helped!
