    Hi leewaterworth,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
You can transfer purchased content from your iPod to a computer. See this article for more information:

  • Install nano to my new computer...

I have been trying to install my nano to my new computer but have not been succesful. The problem is that my old computer was stolen, which makes it harder to do things because I no longer have the old computer, with my iTunes and all my informations that was used when I first purchased my nano. So my question is how to I install my nano to my new computer without the old computer? Like I said I have tried a few times BUT when I plug the nano this message comes up "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable"
    HELP PLEASE!!--thanks
      Windows XP

The policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on any of the links on this page you'll find a space at the bottom to email your query: iTMS Customer Service

  • I am losing a hard drive on another computer so I have downloaded all music to my ipod nano, when I sync the nano to my new computer and new itunes software it won't pick up the music from the old computer what do I do to successfully sync?

I am losing a hard drive on an old computer so I performed a sync of all music from the old computer to my ipod nano.  Now when I sync my ipod nano to my new computer/Itunes all music will not upload to new computer/software.  What am I doing wrong?

I’ve never needed to do that and am fairly new to using itunes but try doing this. Go to, “Store,” in the itunes menu and select, “Authorize this computer.” Enter apple id and see if that works. I heard that method is used to transfer purchased media to a new computer but I don’t know if it works for regular stored media. Please let me know if that works.

When connecting ipad to itunes, in the Summary tab (in itunes for your device), look in the Backups section and choose to back up to itunes.

  • My previous computer crashed and I am now trying to set up my nano on a new computer.

My old computer crashed and I am now trying to setup my nano on a new computer.  How do I get all my songs on to the ITunes library and not just the ones I bought through ITunes.

Hey I had the same problem and I searched everywhere to find someplace to save my music.
I don't think Apple will help the transfer of songs that weren't purchase through itunes.
So I downloaded Senuti which transferred all my songs easily to my new itunes library.
It's free for 30 days and it lets you transfer 1000 songs during that time.
    Best of luck

  • How can I transfer music from nano to a new computer.  Old computer is gone.

How can I transfer music from nano to a new computer?  Old computer is gone.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.
Use your backup copy to put everything on the new computer.
If for some reason you have failed to backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from your ipod.  Without syncing:  File>Transfer Purchases

How does one copy songs from an iPod nano to a new computer?

You can't add any iOS to a Nano since it doesn't run iOS.
For iTunes purchased music connect to your computer and in iTunes go to File > Transfer purchases.
For non-iTunes music you will need 3rd party software. Assuming you have a Windows computer try Yamipod.

  • Cant Synch CD songs onto new computer

Got a new computer, have music from CDs I put on my Ipod. Cant synch them onto my new computer's Itunes, only the ones I bought off there directly. How can I get my CD songs onto Itunes from my Ipod?

You copy them from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer.
The ipod is not a backup device.
The music sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The exception is itunes purchases.

  • Putting current Nano songs on New computer Library

I recently received a new laptop via work, not the one I started my itunes and my library on and I want to transfer my itunes folders over to my new computer. I have about 350 songs on my Nano (pretty new to this) and want to download those into my library in on my new computer, but am afraid since there is nothing in the new library that instead I will wipe out all my songs on my Nano since the download goes only one way. • Viewing Nano contents through My Computer (Win 7)

The choices of wallpapers on the 6th generation Nano is very limited (and to me personally, very boring). Is there a way to add new wallpapers to the list?
I tried adding my wallpapers from my computer to the photos folder on the Nano, and they did show up. However, there was no option with the photo viewer to set the current photo as your background, nor did my wallpapers show up in the wallpaper choices in the settings for the Nano itself.
(Through manually searching around this place I found my answer - no, you can't add new wallpapers. What a load of help the search function did before - I tried that first before posting here, but it came up with nothing. My question below still stands though...)
When I go to view the contents of my Nano through My Computer (yes, I use Windows - don't hate me!), all it comes up with is a file named ".metadata_never_index." Is there a way to view the contents through My Computer instead of through iTunes?
If you need any further info to help me answer this question, just ask.

The Music folder is hidden inside of a hidden folder called iPod_Control.  You need to enable hidden files and folders on your Windows XP machine first.  See this link for instructions on how to do this.

My hard drive in my MacBook crashed and I now have a new computer. I am trying to sync my ipod nano with iTunes but i get a message stating that the content on my ipod will be replaced with the songs and playlists from my iTunes library (which is nothing). I want to get all my songs, playlists, from my ipod onto my computer. Help!!!

See if there are instructions for what you want to do in the iPod nano (5th generation) - User Guide, check Knowledge Base, iPod Nano Support or call U.S. iPod and Mac technical support: 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273).
