Cant't generarte PDF with big size

Helllo,
If I want generate PDF with a big paper-size (example 1.000 x 2.200 mm) nothing will done (tested with differnt files and different joboptions an different big sizes).
No Dialog, no window ... nothing. Sometime I can see for a short time the printer icon. But .... If I say "Okay take only 210 x 297mm" then everything is okay.
I have Windows 8.1 Pro and Adobe CS 5.5 with Acrobat Distiller 9.5.5316.
I want generate the PDF from CorelDraw about "Print" and as the Printer is "Adobe PDF", then I change the paper-size and then I want to generate ... nothing.
If I use a a normal PS-Driver and export this as a ps-file and if I then use this file for my Distiller, the it will be done.

Hi Jorg ,
Are you trying to reduce the file size with the "Reduced size PDF" in the save as other option.
Give it a try if you haven't done it prior.
Open that PDF>File>Save as Other>Reduced size PDF.
If possible ,please share the snapshot of the error message with us so that we can have a look in order to assist you further.

Error "Failed to Export PDF" with big image on CS6 (32) and CC (64)

Hi everyone,
I'm on indesign CS6 (v8.0.2) and when I try to export pdf with a very big image ( *.tiff, 25000*35000 pixels, ) , the action failed with this message :" Failed to export a PDF".
To be sure that there is no any corrupted elements, I made a very simple layout (one page , and just one element for my image,I turnoff prefilgth and all ressource intensive options, and export with no downsampling or resampling) and try to export with different size image:with 20000*30000 -or smaller -image the export works, always failed with image .The export failed to in scripting mode.
If I diveded my image in four , the export works but this solution is not convenient (I actually made tests for a fully automatised process, and we want to be sure that the indesign component is enough "safe")
I try the same action with an evaluation version of indesign CC 64 bits (v9.2) and have the same behavior.
I can imagine that there is a memory issue there, but my config seems to be strong ( windows server 64 with 16GB ram, DD with more than 100GB free). I don't undersant why-in a "full" 64 bit environnement- it is not possible to manipulate and export very large image ?
I'm wonder If the background task is a part of the problem, and if it 's possible to disable it in CS6 or CC as in cs5 ( creates an “DisableAsyncExports.txt” file in Adobe InDesign executable directoty don't seems to disable it in CC or CS6).

Got error when sending message with big size

My Adobe Flash CS5.5 did not work while it is opening a .fla with big size

This is a very serious trouble...
I have a .fla with 101MB.
I always use this file and there is no problem on opening this file before.
This morning , I found that while I am opening the file, Flash did not work. It said Adobe Flash CS5.5 stop running <--- (I forgot what is the whole message)
I have used my computer for only 1 and a half year only, my I think I have enough RAM and memory to run my Flash CS5.5 , but this problem did not appear before and appear in this morning
Can somebody tell me what the problem is? Thank you.
P.S. here is some information of my computer
CPU : Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 650 @ 3.20GHz 3.20 GHz
RAM : 4.00GB (3.18GB available)
System type: 64-bit

Set the library as "merge into code" and the problem doesn't happen.

Saving pdf with reduced size

In the options I clicked off the button für "embedded fonts", so they should not be changed and stay embedded: but the reduced pdf shows many errors in the fonts like this:

It sounds like you did unembed them. You can check the document properties and select the font tab. I hope you worked on a copy.

ADOBE PREMIERE - Big size letters

Hello guys,
i'm having the following issue with my AdobePremiere.
1. ADOBE CC with big size letters. ScreenSize 1920x1080
2. ADOBE PREMIERE CS6. Here everything is okay. ScreenSize 1920x1080
I don't know why i'm having this issue. The first one (ADOBE CC) looks really weird on my screen, really big.
May someone help me?
PS.: i'm having the same issue on my inDesign. My AE, Ai, Lr, Mu, Ps are okay.

The other alternative is the Save As Other>Reduce File Size. The PDF Optimizer gives you more control. You might also use the audit feature in the PDF Optimizer to see where the size problem is coming from. You might find that in the WORD file you can select and image and then go to the FORMAT (pictures) menu and select compress for all of the bitmaps in the file. That will typically use 150 dpi by default that is adequate for most needs.

How do I create a pdf with the correct size? I created several albums and ordered them. Now I want to backup the album and I know how to create a pdf, but when I choose A5 it's to big, when I create my own size it's not the size it should be. The original (made with iphoto) is a small size album 200x150mm. But when I create my own size (200x150) it shows some white borders.
Does anybody have some tips ore workarounds?

Books are designed for and printed on 8.5 x 11 inch stock, US Letter size. You shouldn't have to select any size. While viewing the All Pages mode in the book Control-Click on the page and select Save Book as PDF from the contextual menu.
That will create a PDF that iPhoto uses to upload and print. Not all pages will be the same size as the dust jacket will be present in it's full size, 32.8 inches x 8.91 inches:
If you want a PDF that's designed for your own printing the type Command+P while viewing the All Pages window. In the first print window click on the PDF button. It will present you with a contextual menu where you should select Save as PDF. That will give you an 8.5 x 11 PDF file with all pages the same size.

Table with a huge size. With big fields... should be in a separated table?

Consider the following table
id_foo num_doc_foo pages_foo pdf_foo .. etc
imagine that the table has millions of records, and a total size of 4GB or more.
im collecting data for build a statistical form, but the query takes forever, althow analizing the query all checks out.
My question is, the size of the table might influence the query performance?
Should i create a separated table to collect the values i want, and keep the previous table to save the data (the pdf_data documents are huge).
Resuming what im saying.
A table for the huge data fields (with a big size), and another table that connects to the previous one, but with smaller data, data for generating reports, etc.
What do u think? Does it makes sence?
I work with oracle 9.2x , and can't upgrade.

don't remember exact details for 9.2, but I believe that oracle stores the LOB separate from the rest of the table, if it's over a certain threshold. so, if the pdfs are large enough, they aren't really stored with the table data, so reporting queries won't be affected. check the manual for how LOB storage works, and then store the pdfs in a separate table if needed.

Indesign big size PDF because of links

Hi guys,
I did a PDF from InDesign. A 40 pg mostly text PDF which will result in the usual from 200Kb to 500 Kb max. Now this is the first time i am adding hyperlinks to go to a specific page and the final size goes as much as 1.2 Mb which is way too big for email. This is the Audit Space from Acrobat Pro 9, as you can see in this image.
how can i reduce the Link Annotations? i didn't know there where that big. I tried PDF Optimizer from Acrobat Pro but it does very little effect, just reduce 100 Kb from 1,2Mb.
Should i make the Hyperlinks with Acrobat Pro and not with InDesign? doesn't seem very rational.

Hi Peter, thanks for the fast reply. You were right about the links i have mistaken Bytes with Kilobytes then.
Nevertheless, 1.2 Mb for a 40 pages mostly text file is way too much. I have some Adobe Advertising PDF with small images very similar to mine and are a lot smaller in size. Maybe there is a better way to put together the structure and content.
I run PDF Optimizer with ALL settings on and the file reduces to 700 Kb which is OK. Nevertheless i haven't find out how to keep the hyperlinks on with all settings on. I specifically didn't touch bookmarks but the links are still off.
Do you have some setting for PDF Optimizer which is recommended? I wouldn't like to discard any important info an have problems later.
Steve: thanks for the good info too. I know that 1.2 Mb is considered small in nowadays broadband Internet. Anyhow the PDF is for 50/60 year old philosophers which Internet and File knowledge is very scare. I happy enough that the have emails...haha. I do have an account in Dropbox and i might try to teach them how to download the public link if i don't find another solution.

Also, I'm having issues with my Ipad turning off about every 2 minutes, and I want to restore it. I want to make sure all of the files are backed up before I restore. My trouble started when I was trying to update my IPad but it was taking too long (internet was scetchy) so I powered off...now Im having problems. I haven't tried to update again since this problem. Any suggestions? Should I restore? Should I update to 7.0.6? (currently 7.0.3).

Hi Bill,
It sounds like your document has a lot of pages and/or images in it.
Instead of using the normal InDesign > Export command to create a PDF, you may be able to reduce the file size by printing to a PostScript file, then distilling it to PDF using Acrobat Distiller.
