Cant turn on my iphone 3gs

I tried to reboot the phone by pressin both home and on/off buttons for 10 seconds, but did´t work. Also tried to charge it but nothing seems to work, The secreen is off, nor the charge logo neither the apple logo apears. Any idea?

Alsto tryed to conect the phone to my computer, but the computer didnt recognice it.

    Is your iPhone jailbroken? Activation errors often come up with a jailbroken iPhone, and if yours is, there's nothing we can do to help in these forums.

    The update copied all my apps and content back to my iPad. Are all your apps on your computer's iTunes ? An iPad backup only contains your apps content and settings and not the actual apps, so for the restore to be able to work fully iTunes needs access to the apps. If you re-download them to your computer's iTunes you could then try restoring to your backup and see if that copies them and their content back to the iPad.     How are you turning off your phone? Because if you're holding down the wake/sleep button and the home button at the same time, that will restart the phone and it will come back on. But if you're just holding down the wake/sleep button and swiping to turn off, then it should stay off.

  • Why can't I turn on my iPhone 3Gs after a full discharge?

    My phone recently discharged until shutoff.  When I tried to charge the phone, I got the red battery charge indicator and a possitive charge symbol right below that, furthermore, my phone did not respond to any actions such as holding down the power button, home button, or both simultaneously.  Nothing.
    On a good note, I tried a new cord and was able to plug the phone into my laptop but didn't get the driver function chime for an active connection to the PC.  Following the failure of my computer to recognize the device, I tried again to hold the power button for fifteen seconds while iTunes was running (not that that did anything) and the phone plugged in to the PC via USB cable yet unrecognized.
    The phone powered on showing me the apple logo at 4% battery life then immediately gave me a warning that the battery was less than 20%.
    WHEW!
    I am guessing that the phone has some mechanism that will disallow the phone from being powered on following a charge after a full discharge.  I'm not letting my battery get below 20% again.

    Good guess but bad idea.  It's NORMAL for the phone to be unresponsive, just showing the red icon for up to 30 minutes of charging, when it had been run to shut down.  This prevents the battery from being used repeatedly in a near depleted state which can damage overall battery life.  
    You SHOULD run the battery to shutoff periodically to maintain meter calibration.

    I just recently turned on my iphone 3gs since 2010 & It shows me the usb and itunes screen. Most likely it needs an upgrade on the IOS software
    The problem is that I have over 2000 pictures, contacts and my text messages. If I upgrade the software , this will all be deleted
    Can anyone advise me if there is a way in which I can retrieve the lost data before upgrading the IOS software?

    Too late.   The iTunes with USB graphic indicates your phone is in recovery mode, and would need to be fully restored to be usable again.
    Whatever was on the device is lost forever.

    Are you trying to activate the phone? Sounds like you may have had an illegally unlocked phone and when you upgraded to 5.1.1 it put the lock back on rendering the sim you have in your phone useless. You need the correct sim to activate the phone and that would be from the carrier that the phone is locked to.
