Cant type in words

I was typing a document in words and I checked thesaurus and then thought my original word is correct so I closed thesaurus. Now while closing I may have hit something which I cant remember but now I cannot type anything in words. I checkd that the font color is visible (not white etc.) and I tried typing something in other microsoft products like ppt works fine. but I just cant type anything in words. any idea what went wrong? I am using Yosemite and recently upgraded. anything missing here???

Hey—Since upgrading, I'm having keyboard and mouse issues where it seemingly takes my Mac Mini upwards of 2 minutes after wake up before my mouse or keyboard will work...which is confusing since tapping my magic mouse or space bar on the wireless keyboard wakes up my Mac Mini. It would seem elementary that my Mac Mini has connectivity to my mouse and keyboard if tapping either wakes up my Mac Mini from sleep mode. In addition to that inconvenience, when I do start typing, it's like someone has their thumb on the space bar between words. I type the first word no problem. But as soon as I hit the space bar, it creates endless spaces until I type another character. I am also having a similar problem with my volume control on the keyboard. If I hit the volume up key, it zooms to full volume instead of the normal incremental increase in volume for each tap of the volume key. Same thing happens when I hit the key to turn down the sound. I don't have any data or third party applications since I only use my Mac Mini as a web streaming device for watching HD streaming content on my flatscreen tv. Even that is problematic since Safari crashes at least several times an evening while trying to stream content.
As far as your problem goes...if you are using a wireless keyboard, you might try putting new batteries in. Even if your computer is not telling you the battery power is low, I have found that low battery power can effect the functionality of both wireless mouse and keyboards. Also if you haven't tried it, rebooting can fix most OS X idiosyncrasies. Hope you have success with your issue, invisible25.

If you want to write text without first inserting a container for the text, then open a blank template from the Word processing section of the Template Chooser.
Word processing documents have a text layer, into which you can enter text directly.
Page Layout documents do NOT contain a text layer. A blank Page Layout document is a blank canvas on which "objects" may be placed.
"Text" is NOT an "object." "Text" requires a container.
The container may be a Text box, a Shape, a Table—all of which are "objects"—or a Chart (which is a collection of "objects" as well as being an "object" itself).

But this only works for terms with a space in it. For example:
Typing: "word1 word2" will go to Google
Typing: "word" Goes to OpenDNS
Furthermore... If I type in "eBay" it will take me to eBay.com (as I would expect) but if I type in another site like "tip20" it goes to OpenDNS.
How do I fix this once and for all.

Use a keyword search via the location bar. 
You can add a keyword to a search engine if you click the search engine icon on the search bar and open Manage Search Engines. Select a search engine and click the "Edit Keyword" button. You can use a one letter keyword like g for Google. 
Then you can type g word or g word1 word2 in the location bar to do a search.

MS Word for Mac has never supported Arabic. You have to use other apps. Mellel is best, but Pages 5, TextEdit, Nisus Writer, or Open/LibreOffice should work OK.
Sometimes you can make Word for Mac do connected Arabic if you are editing a document created with Windows Word.

Hmmm... by default, if the cursor is in either bar, it can be closed by pressing the Esc key. But I suppose that isn't working either (or it reopens very quickly).

Cant print from Word/Excel/Outlook to Onenote (Office 2010)

Have a weird problem. The problem started quite resently....for a lot of users in our domain!
As the title says I cant print from word/outlook/... to onenote.....the only thing i can print from is IE10 to onenote (all other printers work ofc pdf/physical and so on). But if someone has IE8 I doesn't work for them either...
I have the printer under "printers and fax" so its not "gone"....I have tried to repair Office 2010+reboot with no success. AND i have the XPS document Writer present/working aswell.
When i try to print i can see the "printing-icon" in the lower wright corner, so something is obviously "happening"....but if i put my marker there it only says "0 printing jobs for %username%"....and yes i'm currently sitting
in a domain, i'm admin at my computer to(Windows 7 Enterprise).
I'v tried almost everything i could find i terms of repairing and checking the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MenuExt\Ski&cka till OneNote registry key (but that's for IE...and that's working correctly).
Now here's the fun part....if i run winword.exe as administrator (rightclick+Run as administrator) it works!
But that's not a solid workaround....
Anyone knows how to fix this? And as i'v explained...tried to repair several times....restarted services....check so XPS function is enabled and so on and so on...

According to your description, I selected the situations which your said above.
1. A lot of Domain account could print from is IE10 to Onenote, but IE 8 not.
2.When Domain account print to Onenote, but it hanged.
3. Word works well if runned as administrator.
From above, I think the printer setting was Ok, beacuse you could print something by using Onenote to physical printer.
As far as I know, OneNote stores a raster and a vector format for the printout images. It will first load the raster image (quicker to load) then quickly switch to vector image (hi res/sharper). The image you see for a split second is the raster
image and then vector format fails to render. I believe you did not lose any data, just that it fails to render due to a configuration issue.
OneNote uses .NET to render the vector format and I have seen cases where the installed .NET version or not installed .NET updates would be a problem. I recommend you first make sure you have
Win7 SP1 and Office and .NET updates that show up in Windows Update are all installed and retry after that.

If the issue exists, Please use process monitor to selcet the log when the issue occurs.
