Cant uninstall Itunes 7.7.1.11

So I turn Itunes on and it asks if I want to upgrade to 8.0 and I click yes so i downloads everything and installs everything nothing looks like it went wrong but then when I turn it on i get an error box that says
Warning!
The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and
burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of
installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes.
iTunes was not properly installed. If you want iTunes to be able
to retrieve CD information from the Internet, you need to reinstall
iTunes.
and when i try to uninstall iTunes it starts going and then it will say 15 sec left and then the bar fills up and then goes backwards on the windows installer. Please help. By the way after i click through the message the version for iTunes is still 7.7.1.11

No need to uninstall it. Just download iTunes v8 independent setup file (from apple.com) and start the installing. It will automatically rewrite the old files. If you want to remove iTunes v8 and this problem occurs, wait till the next update.

  • I cant uninstall itunes

Help someone.... I am really confused. I cant uninstall itunes to get the newer version (which I apparently need)
says the program is a network resorce and it is unavailible...... HELP!!

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Cant uninstall itunes to reinstall as itunes.msi file is not where computer thinks it should be.

Had a problem on the PC which has effected itunes which no longer opens (some source files not available).  Tried to reload itunes to repair and cant uninstall itunes to reinstall as itunes.msi file is not where computer thinks it should be to uninstall.

With suggestion from the forum i have used the MS cleanup utility and remove entries for itunes, itunes will still not uninstall. I cannot delete folders in program files either (dll files wont delete).  So at the moment i am completely stuck.  I cant uninstall itunes on my PC, i cant reinstall itunes from the Apple website because it thinks i already have the latest version loaded.  can anyone help me get passed this sticky and akward situation.

  • Cant uninstall itunes because 'itunes.msi' cant be found

    hi,
while trying to update itunes to 9.2 version the update failed due to the bonjour file,i restarted the pc tried to open the itunes programme from the desktop short cut and got message 'this action is only valid for products that are currently installed'. now i can only open itunes by going through the my music-itunes-itunes media etc route when everything in itunes works fine.
After updating the software on my ipod touch to the 4.0 update, i am then informed that the ipod will only work with itunes 9.2. I try to install the itunes update and get the same mesage as before...'cant uninstall previous version of itunes'
i try to uninstall itunes..quicktime..apple software update etc as stated on apple support site and all i get is 'the feature you are trying to use is on a network resourse that is unavailable' and when i try i cant find the installation package 'itunes.msi'
    Can somebody help my please??

Glad you got things working again.
Were you able to track down a working download site for version 3.0, or did you have to try a 2.5? (Download sites for 3.0 seem to be as rare as hen's teeth, now.)

  • CANT UNINSTALL ITUNES-NETWORK SOURCE UNAVALIABLE-VERIFY SOURCE

I cant for the life if me uninstall itunes, i have followed all the steps from this website; http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923 so i have removed everything from my laptop but now when i go to press uninstall itunes on the control panel it comes up with a box that says the feature you are trying to use is on a network source that is unavailable..so i press okay and it didnt work then another box says the installation source for this product is not avaliable, verify that the source exists and you can access it. what can i do?! please help! i need itunes for many reasons!!

the feature you are trying to use is on a network source that is unavailable.
This problem can usually be fixed with the Microsoft Installer cleanup utility.
Unfortunately the Microsoft Installer Cleanup utility has been withdrawn by Microsoft because of compatibility issues with Microsoft Office so you will need to find a copy elsewhere – the installer is msicuu2.exe. You need version 3.
    Google  msicuu2.exe download
mydigitallife in the above search has a copy of version 3
Check for malware before installing it.
After installing, To run the program  – All Programs>>Windows Install
If you get  permission denied error, Try Run as Administrator – an option if you right click on the program.
Run the utility and remove and instance you find of iTunes, the try installing again.

Not being able to access the iTunes Store sounds frustrating. I have located an article that will help you, take a look at the heading titled "Troubleshoot issues in Windows."

I really need help!!! my itunes 11.1.4 download really screwed my computer up! I have tried everything i can search for and i still cant uninstall itunes in order to reinstall. If anyone could please help me it would be muchhhhhhhhh appreaciated. Thanks!

    Carly,
I went through the same thing. Searched again for another error I was seeing and found this help from Delgadoh and this finally fixed me! He mentioned this article: iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376.  But I had not read it.  I went straight to his instructions below.
If you haven't already tried these steps:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer.
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.

(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

When i try to uninstall itunes to enable me to reinstall i get this message . the feature you are trying to use is on a network that is unavailable .( 'itunes msi'   is the resource i cant find )  i now cant open or update itunes any ideas

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • I cant uninstall my itunes off my computer, i have followed instructions and i still have errors, including error 2330 and redundance cyclic. the only software i have left is itunes.exe and file es.lproj which is located in the ituneshelpresources folder

I cant uninstall my itunes off my computer, i have followed instructions and i still have errors, including error 2330 and redundance cyclic. the only software i have left is itunes.exe and file es.lproj which is located in the ituneshelpresources folder. i recently installed a second hard drive and that let me uninstall everything. I just want to get itunes off my computer and reinstall itunes, i have deleted everything i can and i ran "chkdsk" this did nothing. I would have just updated the oild itunes to the newest version but it didnt ley me do that. installing/ uninstalling or deleting just lets me get half way and shows me these errors. Please help, thank you.
    JPHowarth

the only software i have left is itunes.exe and file es.lproj which is located in the ituneshelpresources folder.
If the chkdsk isn't fixing the damage, and those are the only iTunes that can't be deleted, try renaming the "iTunes" folder that they are contained in (in your Program files) to iTunesOLD.
Now try another install. Does it go through without the 2330 this time?
