  • Large Mozilla file, can't uninstall from add/remove programs

The mozilla file attached in the image can't be removed from add/remove files and I am unable to find it via the Windows search function (Windows 7 Pro 64-bit) and it is apparently 28+ GB... I'd really like to get that off my hard drive as it is taking up so much space.

You can probably ignore that entry as it looks like a leftover from an old Firefox installation.
A possibility is to edit the registry if you are comfortable doing that and inspect and remove this key.
    *HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Mozilla Firefox
Note that all changes that you make in the registry editor are applied instantly and that there is no undo possible.
You can export key(s) in the registry editor before making changes.
If you are not comfortable with editing the registry then it is best to skip this step to edit the registry.

  • If I have corrupted bkup exec SQl Databases will they be removed if I uninstall SQL express 2005 from add remove programs?

The only things running when I run SQL management are Windows internal Database and SQl browser.
Both BKexec and mssql server are broken and won't start
I can't seem to find a way to connect to or delete the databases
I am using an outdated backup exec 11d so I cannot get support from Symantec
I want to know if uninstalling sqlserver express through add remove programs will remove the corrupt databases
This is in order to reinstall backup exec

    Hello,
Based on your description, it seems that a backup tool (backup exec) is corrupt and and you want to reinstall this tool.
Uninstall SQL Server will not remove database files. Are the database files (data file .mdf and log file .log) or backup file (.bak) still available in your disk? If the database files or backup file is not corrupted, you can attach or restore
the database form these files after you reinstall SQL Server.

  • How do I uninstall a software from my macbook?

I recently switch to Apple. can someone tell me how to how do I uninstall a software from my macbook?

As mecklists indicated, just removing the "icon" from the Application folder is all you need to do in most cases (this is THE beating argument for OS X in my mind compared to Windows with its complex uninstallers; and then still having dozens of registry entries and files spread over the entire harddisk).
However if you want to get sure that any and all files have been removed, you may look at /Library/Application Support folders available under your user's home and the startup volume's home directory.
You may simply look for files and folders that are related to the software you have deleted. Anyway, be careful doing so. Not that you mistakenly remove files associated with other applications.

  • How do I remove an advertising program by the name of SmartSuggestor? I cant find it in the ad ons and I cant find it in my add remove programs on my pc.

I keep getting these stupid ads that are apparently from smartsuggestor but I cant find the program anywhere on my pc then I contacted the company and they tell me that it is a firefox issue yet i cant find it in the firefox settings either. I went into the Smart Suggestor site and the name of the extension/program came up as "No extension Found". I cant find anything that even resembles anything to do with the program at all not in the add remove program through control panel or through the extension plug ins area in firefox and was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem.
I did not download this crap then all of a sudden I am plagued with pop up adds and other sorts of advertising all stemming from this bloody Smart Suggestor. I have got myself a good pc cleaner along with a few Malware removers and also upgraded my security programming but nothing will either find nor rid my pc of this problem. I have downloaded and reinstalled a fresh copy of Firefox and I am still having the same issue, has anyone else gone through this and how can I get rid of this problem?

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br>
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br>
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

  • Firefox crashed 2 days ago and will now not open, and won't uninstall via Control panel add/remove programs; the files are still there on Windows Explorer. IE8 still works.

My PC is a fujitsuscaleo 600, last year I had a new hard drive and some extra RAM fitted and since then has been good - have used, and updated Firefox for over 6 years. in August I installed TrendMicro antivirus and for different reasons this has been uninstalled/re-installed twice. AFter letting it expire, I re-installed ParetoLogic PC health advisor (I think in August too)and allowed it to try updating some graphics drivers following a scan - this was unsuccessful so I marked them to ignore (something about my graphics card not supporting the drivers downoladed). I can see the mozilla files on WIndow Explorer but if I click 'remove' (control panel, add/remove programs) I get a very short 'hourglass' then nothing; if I click Firefox icon I get the same. Help!

  • How can I uninstall firefox when the add/remove programs in control panel doesn't work, nor does opening it in the run command?

I tried to uninstall firefox using the control panel, add/remove programs. When I click on remove it does nothing. Then I tried using run, firefox, uninstall, helper and this does nothing either. Is there another way to remove it or repair it? I am using windows xp not 2000.

For details of how to manually remove Firefox see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_Firefox - it gives details of the folders you need to delete.
What is your problem with Firefox, re-installing Firefox does not normally fix problems.

  • Uninstall Acrobat 6 without Add/Remove Programs

    Hello,
I currently have several users still running Acrobat 6 Standard.  I have purchased licenses for Acrobat X to replace these outdated packages, but am trying to automate the uninstall/install.  The program I am using to automate the process requires me to select an application for the removal; I cannot just go through Add/Remove programs.  Most programs have an Uninst.exe (or something to that effect) in the Program Files folder, but I am not seeing that on my systems.  When I go through Control Panel>Add/Remove and click "Change" it brings up what looks like the setup program with the option to remove.  This would work perfectly, but I am unable to find the executable that launches this program.  Can anyone help me locate it?
    Thanks in advance.
If it matters, I am running XP SP3 on all machines.

The response has been overwhelming. Thanks

  • Should I remove older versions of Java from Add/Remove Programs?

I have about 9 or 10 older versions of Java mostly version 5 updates 2-11installed in the Add/Remove programs section of Control Panel. Should I remove these or leave them installed before installing the next update 6.2?

Yea, you should definitely remove them via the add/remove tool.
Sometimes if you are developing for different versions you might
have more than one - but in most cases more than 1 or 2 is
    unnecessary.

  • I CANT DOWNLOAD NE SOFTWARE FROM SITE OR CD HELP!

Im so frustrated im about to set fire to my ipod mini, at the moment i cant download itunes or the ipod updater from my installation cd or the website, with the cd when i put it into my computer nothing happens, and on thew site i get to the screen that says "thank you for downloading itunes your download will happen automatically" and then nothing happnes someone please help!

I think I replied to a similar post like this before but I'll post the same answer I posted to the other one.
It might be that your computer won't automatically starts cds placed in your cd rom, you might have to do it manually. Place the cd in your cd room tray, close it and go to "My Computer", you should see the name of the cd in the list. Double click on that to make the cd start spinning in the cd tray, you should also be able to hear it when it starts to spin.
I had the same problem, when you said you clicked "Download" to download iTunes from the website and nothing happened - it'd just jump straight to the "Thank you for downloading.." page. This is what I did. Before you click on "Download", hold the "ctrl" key in your keyboard and then press "Download" on the webpage. DO NOT LET GO of the button until you see the "Run" prompt. It works for me, my problem is the Security software my Internet Explorer has - it won't let me download certain things unless I press the "CTRL" key.

  • I have uninstalled Firefox through the add/remove section of the control panel, and it is no longer listed, but it is still on my computer. Both regular firefox and firefox portable are still usable on my computer, and the uninstalls for neither work.

I'm using firefox 3.6.11, and windows xp. I've manually searched the uninstall prompts in the firefox folder, but they do not work.
I need to uninstall firefox as it uses more of my memory, especially with the new plug-in bin container, and my little netbook just can't handle it. (Hence why I tried installing the portable version, but whenever I try to use it the main firefox starts up as well - even though I have uninstalled it).
    Thanks for any help!!
