Cant update 3.1.2 to 4.1

Hi, (sorry for my poor english)
I cant update my iphone to 4.1 thats say that error message "the iphone xxxx cant be updated actually because the serveur of update is timedout or try again later" a message like this. i have no fire wall no antivirus etc i've download the firmware via a another site and put it in C:\Documents and Settingsusername\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates and that dont work too.
so someone can help me plz?

Hi, I had the same problem on my wife's pc running XP, as a workaround I used another PC which just happened to be running Win 7 and it updated without problems, I think my wifes problem was XP that was corrupt, since then I have re-intalled XP and it now works correctly with her Iphone 3gs.
