hi shibby!
is that message showing up in your web browser when you try to download the installer? if so, are you using Internet Explorer as your Web Browser?
if so, let's check to see if the issue described in this document is a factor in your case:

  • Cant update Itunes or ipod due to security settings

Hi, I keep trying to update itunes and my ipod, but when i press downnload on the web site...it says my security settings wont let me.
I have tried to change my security, but to no success...
    can anyone help me?
    Abbie

You are running XP firewall if you have WinXP, for one.
And you probably have other security software like Norton or McAfee.
And Internet Explorer also has security settings.
Post a lot more detail and you'll get better help.

  • TS3212 Cant update itunes

Why wont my computer remove bonjour? it says the old version can not be removed and It wont let me update itunes untill its removed

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another install. Does it go through this time?

  • I have an iBook G4, its current OS is 10.4.11(tiger i think) i cant update itunes past 9.2 which is a big problem for my new ipod touch 4th gen! please help me someone!

hello, i have an iBook G4 which is old, it has an OS of 10.4.11 which is called tiger i think, forgive me im new to apple,
it has a version of itunes installed (9.2) which worked fine with my 1st gen ipod touch but ive upgraded to a 4th gen ipod touch and now my itunes version is no longer compatible, the problem is that because my os is out of date i cant install the current version of itunes so i  think i need to upgrade my OS.
Like i say im quite new to apple so any help or information would be greatly appreciated. thank you

As Niel has suggested Mac OS X 10.5 Lepaord.
But first of all make sure that your iBook is above 800Mhz and you have at least 512 Meg of memory. (1 GB recommended)
Please note, that if you do install Mac OS X 10.5 on your iBook, it will not allow you to install the latest version of iTunes version 11. The most recent version of iTunes that can be installed would be 10.5, which will be compatible with your iPod touch 4th gen, provided it's not been updated to iOS 6.
Sadly you can't install any version of Mac OS X above 10.5 Leopard, as it they requires an Intel processor, which your iBook G4 does not have.
    Hope this helps.

  • Cant update itunes but need to for new ios6

Hey im an owner of a macbook pro from a few years ago and its still on version 10.5.8.
Now I regretfully updates to ios6 on my iphone 4s and now cant sync with my itunes because my itunes cant be updated unless I have version 10.7 or newer os.
Is there any way to work around this so that I can sync my iphone 4s again with ios 6 with my macbook pro or should i just start using my windows computer for everything mac (because im not spend 60 bucks for this update).

I am having a similar issue, I have an older MacBook and am still using OS X 10.5.8. But unlike my fellow user, I am unable to download the latest version of itunes because it is requesting I have at least OS X 10.6.8. What can I do?
I don't want to purchase an expensive software update, but I must be able to sync my phone with my mac.
    Thanks in  advance!

  • Cant update itunes or mac

I went to sync myihone and it said i needed to update my itunes, so i downloaded the update and when i went to update it, it said i needed mac version 10.6., so i downloaded this, and when i went to install this, it told me "you need version 10.6. to update this". So i have no way of updating, which is obvious a problem because i cannot sync. what do i do?

What you can install in terms of iTunes updates depends upon your hardware and operating system version.  Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then  "About This Mac".  Write down what it says about "version"and report that here.  Now continue to "More Info..."  Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).

  • Cant update Itunes/MacOS. say installer package is in trash

I was trying to update my itunes so i could use the itunes store. When I install the

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

I keep trying to update my itunes to 10.6 and i even try to uninstall and it wont do either keep getting error writing to file c:\config.msi\1931c2.rbf  please help how do i fix this problem...

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Getting bonjour msi path error so i cant update itunes

I can't install itunes upgrade because it says the path bonjour .msi is missing. Help please. I have already did a registry fix and clean which helped with quicktime and itunes msi error but not bonjour. I can't uninstall bonjour or delete its files from c drive

Like you I had the same problem updating to iTunes 10.5. I happened to read another post on this forum on the same problem and with some simple advise I was able to update to 10.5. Apparantely the 'Apple software update' program is causing the problem. I removed it by downloading a program called 'Windows Install CleanUp Utility' from softpedia.com. Installed the program and scrolled down to apple software update and clicked 'remove'. Then I installed itunes 10.5. I could not believe how easy it was! Now I can finally update to IOS 5 for my iphone 4.

Try updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:

  • Cant update itunes 7.7 : error 2738

I have just recently purchased an iTouch and when i connect it to my computer the itunes i have now (below 7.7 not sure which one) does not show its connected.
I then proceeded to download itunes 7.7 and when it was half way through the downloading process the error code 2738 came up. It says it has something to do with the VBScript and it needs QuickTime to run. I then tried just downloading QT and then iTunes but that also did not work.
