Hi i cant update mi ipod touch its saids that the version 4.2.1 its the current version any tip ? thanks
if your ipod has only 8GB then it is an icompatible old model ( 2nd generation iPod ).
IoS 4.2.1 on it indicates that it is a too old model.
Only 3rd and 4th generation can be upgraded to iOS5. -

I cant update my ipod touch 4 to iOS 5
So my iPod Touch 4th gen. is running 4.3.4 and I want to update it to iOS 5. I have downloaded the new iTunes 10.5 as Apple said to, and I have had no problems with iTunes or my computer. Like it should, I clicked on my iPod in the left sidebar and it showed me the usual menus. I clicked on Uodate and I downloaded the new iS 5.0 software directly from apple through iTunes. When it finished it said I could update my iPod with this new firmware. I clicked Update and it said "Backing Up"(my iPod). Then there was an error (-50 I think). I clicked update anyway (I have already synced all of my apps, music, and photos to my computer so I'm at very little risk of losing them) and it began "Extracting Software" from my iPod. It then came up with an error message (3200) and told me I couldn't update. Can someone please help??
That's apple server issues it's all over the net. Might be better to wait or do it late at night.

Hi, i cant update my ipod touch software version.
Hi, I think I've got the 2nd ot 3rd generation of ipod touch. its basically like the newer version, but without the camera. When i click on check for update, it says its update, but its not up to date because my sister has got a better version. i asked her to do it, but she doesnt know how to do it. Please help.
- If you have iOS 4.3.3 as you indicate they yu should be able to update to iOS 5.
- Do you have iTunes 10.5 installed on the computer? You need that for iOS 5.
- If you have iTunes 10.5 and are sturck with iOS 4.2.1 they you hae a 2G iPod.
- To determine the iOS go to Settings>General>About>Version.
- You said: "When i click on check for update, it says its update" I assum that mean it says yuy iPOd is up to date. -

Cant update my ipod touch 2G wid iOS 4.2.1
hello everyone
i am a great problem to which im trying to find a solution from months.
i have ipod touch 2G and i am not able to update it with iOS 4.2.1..every time i try to download it first it takes 8-10 hours then finally the download fails with the error code 3253.
i have switched off and restarted my ipod,i have the latest itunes also..i have also tried to restore instead but nothing worked out
Should i give my ipod to my sister to try updating it from her office.can i update my ipod using other itunes.???
PLS HELP!This is from the article cited at the end and my help:
"Error 3000-3999: (3002, 3004, 3013, 3014, 3164, 3194, and so on) Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the gs.apple.com server on ports 80 or 443. This may be because out-of-date or incorrectly configured security or firewall software is interfering, an entry in your hosts file redirecting requests to gs.apple.com, or due to your Internet proxy settings. If you are using a proxy, try without using one or with a known-good network. If that does not resolve the issue, follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues. Error 3014 may indicate that you need to free up more disk space on the computer before trying to restore again."
