Cant upgrade Nokia N95 with firmware 10.2.006

I cant install new firmware to a Nokia N95 of a friend, Nokia Software Updater say than no updates, but at page the last version is 35.0.006
The model is N95-3 RM-160, we need upgrade because cant use 3G and cant install new software, like Garmin, even no Nokia Maps

The bugs of N95-1 firmware v.20.0.015:
(Software bugs)
1. After many times connect and disconnect jack 3.5 stereo cable or media cable a phone hangs or restart.
2. If run music player and call update library & switch to main menu, the music player hangs & close it's self after few seconds. After this hangs & self close no one music track can't be play. ( It's fixed after restart phone ).
3. Put to SD card to Music folder few files. Run the music player & update library - we have add new tracks to library. Exit from music player, remove music files that has been add to SD and run the music player again. Update library again - result 0 files add (it's right), but files that has been removed still in media library and do ways for clear library!
4. Turn the camera ring for run camera applicatio. The Camera application has runed. Make one foto using button on phone body. After shot we see the foto preview. Don't close application and turn back the camera ring - must be close camera application and preview - but preview has closed but camera application still runing and we see black screen ( because camera lense has closed).
( may be present any other bugs - i think bugs on N95-1 more that i print...)
IT's EXPECT NEW FIRMARE VERSION FOR N95-1 THEN WILL BE FIXED ALL!!!

I state in Russia in Saint-Petersburg - it's big sity ( second after Moscow), but i run the GPS maps application or GPS-data, or Google Maps, & GPS receiver very poor take the satelites signals! I try run it's in difference locations & on open landscape & in vilage & on hi levels houses - but GPS try connection and get satelites information more that 30minutes and one or two times applications will taked information about one or two satelites no more ( on test positions has been connection to EDGE with 3G support and turn on A-GPS ) !!!
THAT's THIS??? NOKIA YOU MUST RESPONCE FOR YOU PRODUCTS AND THEN YOU APPROVE ABOUT THAT N95 CAN USING GPS NAVIGATION!!!
Also too very slow N95-1 work with SD card and other memory stores!!! It's very poor for Smartphone!!! No one devices not have so very poor transfer with memory store!!!

No many users can't upload firmware v21...
like me ( I have a Nokia N95-1 firmware v20.0.015 at 13-11-07 RM-159 Nokia N95(05.01) ).
Y go to page http://europe.nokia.com/A4577224 enter product key and see last version 20...

DO NOT UPGRADE NOKIA 6234 TO FIRMWARE 5.43!

Many people have reported that their phone crashes when they do this upgrade. Once you upgrade your firmware, you can't get rid of it.
Nokia care centre will not help you unless the phone is in the warranty period. If you can't find your proof of purchase, you will have to pay to get your phone fixed. This is true because this is what I've been told today, by Nokia New Zealand. I tried emailing the care centre and talking to their 0800 call number.
All I was doing was following the suggestion to upgrade from PC suite. Nice way to lose customers, Nokia!

The 6234 is a variant of the 6233 dedicated to the Vodafone group, and as such its firmware is Vodafone variant.
It is not Nokia's fault that operators insist on interfering with the software on phones in order to promote their own brands and services!!

Does anybody know if the new Nokia N95 can be synced up with Mac. The nokia website only mentions the PC suite for windows. I have managed to download photos via the usb cable, but would like to download maps for the built-in satnav, transfer videos music etc...
My dusty 5 year old PC laptop has been in the cupboard for 2 years since I bought my first Mac and I'd rather not go back and upgrade eveything just to make the most of this cool new device.

You can only use MapLoader on Windows.
I am using it under Parallels Desktop Build 3188. The thing is, smart2go who i think provides the map is still on beta stage. Out of the box, it has been my pratice to reformat my phone, so I have lost the maps. When I tried to download Philippines map (1.3 mb) it took me an hour to complete the download.

New versions fixes problems with earlier versions (and probably adds new issues that weren't in the previous one).
Main benefit is more free (available) run-time memory (RAM) for applications.

Is it possible to copy the song I purchase from itunes to my Nokia N95?

Nokia N95 (V20 Firmware) & Mail for Exchange

Anyone else having problems? When i try to connect to my exchange server (Using Wifi or GPRS (3G)) It will just connect, say connected and then sit at idle?
When seetting to always active as well im getting an error about my exchange server not supporting that type of connection?
Worked ok before upgrading to V20... Bug?
PS... Awsome job on ther v20 firmware, makes the phone useable!

Syncing to my Exchange server is a big issue to me and I would like to know if Mail for Exchange is working for someone. If it does can you please supply me with verion number of the Mail app...

Upgrading nokia 5230 to Firmware 2.0?

I recently got a new Nokia phone! It has the firmware for v.12.8.095 When I run the Nokia Software updater it tells me that my firmware is up to date. How can I upgrade to v 2.0?

It simply means the update is not available for your phone's particular product code.
Reasons why a phone cannot update:
1. It is a country variant - country variants often get the updates later, or have updates skipped altogether. A Turkish country variant product code for example, skipped v40 and updated from v31 straight to v50.
2. It is network branded - phones acquired from network providers or these providers' stores SIM free are branded, and will not get updates until the networks approve and modify the updates to their liking.
3. Special editions - These special editions are chartered editions and may never get updates unless taken to a Nokia Care center.

Upgrade Nokia Maps with Linux

I don't use Windows. Is it possible to install latest version of Nokia Maps 3.0 on my 6210 Navigator with Linux? I mean where can I download sis file? Then I can transfer it on phone via USB or BT and install.
May be I have to buy Windows to upgrade phone software?

The Nokia Maps Updater is currently only compatible with Windows Operating System (XP and Vista). This would be the main method of updating to Maps 3.01.
On some devices (e.g.N97) Maps updates are available via the Software Update application in the Device Menu. It might be worth checking if you have this available. (note that this requires donwloading data over the air, and so to avoid costs it is recommended to connect via WLAN)
The .sis file is not available as a seperate download for Maps 3.01
An alternative is to download the Beta version of Maps 3.03, however please note that Nokia Care line cannot offer support for beta products. If you are interested please check out http://betalabs.nokia.com/ovi-maps

I have xp on bootcamp, but I can't get the lion upgrade. Is there any way I can upgrade without deleting the xp?

Update the external to Lion
Clone back
Or do a clean install of Lion to External drive, run Setup Assistant and clone back - that insure you have Lion Recovery on the external drive
There are tips on how to shrink your 10..6.8 to provide a free space to allow Windows XP/Vista and still get Lion.
But you really need to have a bootable clone of your system to another drive before startinig.

X3-02 Cant Upgrade Firmware.

why i cant upgrade my X3-02 firmware , it ses there are no available update of your software but my firmware version is 5.32.

Connect the phone to PC and open OVI Suite.. Goto Tools-->Software updates..
For the Phone software you may see something like this(if there is no update available..).. Device Software version v xx.xx installed. If you are having problems with it you can reinstall it .. Clicking on reinstall it will do it..

Calendar system error (-1) with Nokia N95

My N95 keeps presenting the error message "Calendar: system error (-1)" when I try to access the calendar.

Search the forums, though, for more info about this update, because there are some issues with SIP and VoIP. Overall, though, the phone increases its battery life, memory performance and camera image quality. The newer firmware is available since November 26th.

Telstra Nokia N95 software update?

Hi all,
I recently purchased an N95 from a Telstra shop on 15/05/08, tried to update my firmware, have the latest version of PC suite 6.86.93, the N series PC suite, and the software updater. I've been reading the news on the N95 and Nokia states it's at version 21++ for firmware, doing the *#0000# check my Telstra N95 us coming up with firmware 10.02.006
Ok so I'm thinking sure, newly bought phone, I just need to update my firmware but that apparently seems to be impossible, everytime I try a firmware update my N95 it's telling me it's on the latest software for that phone.
Browsing around forum posts it would appear that not all N95's were created equal, I'm thinking Telstra is selling the N95-3, what I would like to know, and emailing Nokia customer service has proven to be quite useless on this matter:
ie stock standard cut and paste answers without them investigating this particular N95 variant's lack of firmware support, or being proactive in their solutions.
The response I had from them is you have an N95, the N95 is on version 21 for the firmware, phone companies that sell those phones sometimes have to verify the firmware before it can be put on, here's a link to the software updater, that's all fine, that's all information I could find out on my own too, what i would have liked them to tell me is, what version of firmware has Telstra allowed this phone to be updated to or is this a generic N95-3 lack of firmware love problem and if it is Telstra then do they have a liaison who can tap on the shoulder and say, "hey you know we are way ahead with the updates on firmware, you might want to update things on your end and let our customers keep up with the latest firmware other N95 users out there have access to because this really isn't representing our product at it's best..."
Or if it's a lack of N95-3 support, then what's being done about it?
Any other Telstra N95 users out there with this problem?

They won't do it. That would involve removing the network-approved firmware and replacing it with generic firmware.

Nokia N95 Mobile Search 4.0 update error after fir...

I upgraded to Nokia N95 new firmware i.e. 20.0.015
I got the new Search in the menu and on active standby. But the application does not work. I downloaded it from the nokia mobile search site but during installation it says "Update Error!"
I cannot see how to uninstall the one which came with firmware. In short it is not working. Rest everything is cool with the new update.
