Cant upload artwork in iTunes

Using itunes 11.0.4 on a macbook pro. It refuses to let me add artwork that it can not find. I have tried selecting single tracks and whole album and getting info, the artwork tab is greyed out so I can not click on it and when I drag and drop the artwork to the artwork box, it is added but does not show up in the library.
Please help. Its very frustrating.

Cant upload songs from itunes to ipod!!!

I am trying to upload music from my itunes to my ipod and itunes recognizes the ipod and says it is syncing my songs but when it says it is done syncing and i properly eject... the ipod says i have NO music on it but my itunes says i have 1362 songs in my library but none them are on the ipod.. and the ipod says it is full with other "stuff"..... HELP PLEASE!!!!!

Are you dragging from within the iTunes interface? Set to Auto Sync and select some of your Play Lists and see how that works.
You cannot drag tunes to the iPod via the Finder and play those tunes. If dragging via the Finder you will be using your iPod as a HD to move files to another comuter etc.

Ipod Lost My Podcasts, cant upload from my iTunes Podcast Library

I went to download more podcasts just now into my itunes. that worked fine. but i plugged in my ipod, i clicked "sync" under the "file" menu, and nothing happened. the ipod "devices" in the sidebar in iTunes doesn't even show the Podcast purple microphone thingy. but when i disconnect the ipod and go into "menu" then "music" it still has the "podcast" listing, but nothing's in there.

fixed it!!! all i had to do was a "restore". but it was wierd that it happened in the first place

Every time I get to the stage "uploading artwork and remaining songs" I get the following error : "ITunes as stopped working"

I have an issue with ITunes match. Every time I get to the stage "uploading artwork and remaining songs" after 5-10 items have been uploaded I get the following error message :
"ITunes as stopped working. a problem caused the program to stop working correctly."
_ Windows 7 (up to date)
_ ITunes => up to date => 11.0.2.26
_ I've already re-installed ITunes and all his components => same issue
_ this error only appear at the stage "uploading artwork and remaining songs"

Hope that the following can help some of you having the same issue :
When I run the Network Diagnostics in iTunes. And I got the following error :
"Secure link to iTunes Store failed".
So I followed this tread and this is what I tried so far :

Followed the kb TS4123 => no other Winsock Providers that Bonjour

After doing all this tests when I run the Network Diagnostics I still get the same error :
"Secure link to iTunes Store failed".
The strange thing is that I tried to start again the ITunes match and it's seems to work so far. 41 items uploaded and no crash so far (before it was always crashing before I could reach 10 upload).

In the menu bar, click on File. Almost at the bottom of the dropdown list will be the Work Offline option. If it has a tick next to it, then FF is working in offline mode. Just click on it once & all will be sorted.

Artwork in Itunes

Just uploaded a CD to itunes (David Gilmour, On an Island) and got the track info from CDDB.
Can anyone tell me why the artwork comes up as "Artowrk is not modifiable" in the artwork window (and why I cant add artwork to it).

Hey,
Did you by any change import using the WAV Encoder? Artwork cannot be added to music imported using the WAV Encoder.
If you did import using WAV Encoder on purpose because you wanted completely uncompressed audio, I recommend you try using the AIFF and Apple Lossless Encoders.

Artwork in Itunes on computer

I am running out of room so quickly on my laptop. My degree is in classical music so I have about 160 g on my lappy. I uploaded everything into itunes match and have started to delete a few things and keep them in the cloud. Of course they are all also backed up on my external hard drive. However, everything that I've deleted and kept on in the cloud has stopped showing me the artwork. I'm a little uptight about my music stuff. Is there a way to get itunes to display the artwork for albums that are kept only in the cloud?

I had the exact same problem. It ***** when you have 10,000+ tunes...
Even though the album art shows in iTunes, it doesn't mean it will show in the iPod. The easiest way to figure out which ones which need attention is to go into your iPod (go into album cover browse) or in iTunes (display the album and sort by song). You can write down the albums that need to be fixed and then follow the directions below for adding the artwork or if in iTunes fix 'em as you find 'em.
Right-click on the tracks missing the artwork and choose Show In Windows Explorer. Then right-click the track again and choose Get Info. Drag and drop the folder.jpg file from the other window into the artwork square and click on OK.
This is the only sure way I have found to get the artwork to display reliably in my iPod.

Artwork in Itunes: I still don't get it - please help me peach!

The response and the links provided by 'wrongway peachfuzz' instruct me to change artwork in itunes using 'get info' and artwork appears correctly when I follow instructions. But when I subscribe from another mac, the artwork does not appear.
I have read the response often sent by 'wrongway peachfuzz' at least dozen times. His instructions don't even require me to log in. If changing it in 'get info' would work, couldn't spammers change the artwork on every podcast to a picture of george bush or some ad for refinancing?
Subscribers won't 'get info' to see the correct artwork. I want subscribers to be able to see my artwork in their 'album' view or their 'cover flow' view.

Hey, sorry to leave ya hangin', but it was a long weekend . . .
Anyway -
I think I see your point of confusion here: you were trying to change the artwork from your page in the iTunes Store, correct? (Hence: . . .+instructions don't even require me to log in+. . .) My friend, this is not done from your iTunes Store listing, okay? The steps that I have laid out in previous posts are done way before your podcast ever shows up in the store.
Let's walk through it step by step:
1. You record a podcast onto your computer.
2. You edit the audio for speaking errors, format the bit rate, etc.
}}}}Right now, your podcast is just a file, sitting on your computer. It hasn't hit the web yet, and you *have not* updated your XML file.{{{{
3. You take the file that is sitting on your hard drive, and drag it into iTunes.
4. You follow the steps for changing artwork that I have given previously.
5. You upload your podcast file to a server where people can download it.
6. You update your podcast feed/XML.
See, the thing is, *no one* can change the files from the Store. That is how no spammers are able to access anything. The changes are made to the file before you upload it. And thus, when people download your file, they are getting your podcast and +the artwork that you attached to your podcast+.
Hope this clears things up for you -- let me know if it doesn't.

I have a Folder called "Pictures" (My Pictures seems a bit "Windowsy" to me)
I don't have a Media folder inside there.
It would help to know if this is actually within the iTunes Library
Having said that I tend to use Eric's Method.
Pic of My own Card in the Contacts list
It shows where I have used Faces (from iPhoto) and Defaults (Login pic choices for the Account pic).
My iChat/Messages pic is the same Signature pic as used here and is in the Recents Tab on show.
You can even use the Camera if one is attached (Mac Minis and Mac Pro require External Cameras).
Drag and Drop is my preferred method.

Can't upload artwork

Okay, so after I let iTunes automatically find artwork for me and there were several blanks, I managed to figure out how to manually upload artwork. But for a few tracks, I can't do anything, it's grayed out. Like this
- and I can't edit it at all. How do I fix this?

It looks as though those files are in a format that cannot have artwork added. Are they in .wav format? If so, you can either convert the files to a compatible format, such as AAC or MP3, or re-import the music to your iTunes Library in a format that can handle artwork.

Upload troubles with iTunes Match

I have entered a cd in in my MacBook Pro and converted it.
Now it starts with the troubles, after 3 hours waiting it only has 3 numbers uploaded and the rest is waiting?
iTunes Match starts over and over again.
Is there something I can do about it?

I've done as you suggested. Deleted the problem tracks and re ripped to itunes using apple lossless. When match kicked in it matched track one but with a wrong version. (It's a hapless album and the track its matched is the same track but clearly has a gap at the end) its also been stuck for hours on "uploading artwork and remaining songs" 0 of 19 uploaded. I called apple support and they advised me to uninstall and reinstall itunes which I've done too. No help. Any other ideas? Just so you know, the same issue happens on albums that aren't gapless too.

Uploading information to iTunes match

Just purchased iTunes match. And having problems at the uploading stage to Apple it continues to just run

I was caught in a similar cycle where iTunes Match could not progress through Step 3 (Uploading artwork and remaining songs) and would just restart at Step 1. My problem was the cable modem I used (Motorola Surboard DOCSIS 3 modem, xtreme I believe?) that -- for unknown reason -- is not compatible with iTunes Match. The second I tried uploading my music at a friends place that uses a different modem, everything worked like a charm. So definitely try another modem.
I will say, however, that I believe there is a 20,000 song limit with iTunes Match, which may or may not cause the problem as well. You should be able to research that fairly easily.
I also received phenomenal customer service from Apple when calling them. They bumper my issued to a higher level right away and assisted me for several days with calls at any time I requiered until everything was just right, so if changing to a different network (with a different modem) does not help, definitely try calling if you have not done so already.

Notes have nothing to do with iTunes.
Go to My Computer, open the iPod and you will see a Notes folder. Put the notes there.
