I bought iphone 4s in canada to use in india. The apple store person told me that the phone is unlocked version and that I can use this in India. I have spent CAD 649+tax but now its not working with my india sim card. What should I do?

What is the exact error message you get? Where, EXACTLY, did you buy this phone? The only legitimate place you can purchase an unlocked iPhone in Canada is directly from Apple.

If your phone is carrier locked, ONLY the carrier it is locked to can authorize unlocking it. Contact them.

Unfortunately, unless you know the Apple ID, there is absolutely nothing that can be done, you cannot use your mobile device. You may be able to find your Apple ID at Look up your old and forgotten Apple ID

You already got the answer.
The iPhone bluetooth ONLY supports connections for headsets, and tethering an Internet connection (only if your phone is set up to do that). You cannot transfer files from a computer using bluetooth. Even if it did work, bluetooth is terribly slow. I doubt you would want to wait on it.

That suggests that another application has stashed old QuickTime componentry in your system files.
So just in case we'll go looking for older QuickTime componentry in the most common locations for it to be stashed.
First we'll need to change some view settings.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
Click OK.
Now in Computer, open your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you have your operating system installed on).
Open the "Windows" folder.
If you have a 32-bit version of Windows, open the "System32" folder.
If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, open the "SysWOW64" folder.
What files and folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the title? (In a standard installation of Quicktime you should be seeing precisely two files... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)

Where exactly did you get the phone? Unless you purchased it from a carrier that sells unlocked phones or directly from Apple in a country where unlocked phones are available, you purchased a gray market phone that was likely hacked to unlock it. If that's the case, when it was updated to 5.1.1, it was most likely rendered useless as a phone due to damage done by the hack.

I bought i iphone 4s when on holiday in america.
I tried to put an o2 sim in it but it doesnt work, i can not make calls. The phone was on sprint in america i belive and they will not help me as i dont have an activie account with them.
Please someone help me I dont want to have wasted all the money for nothing.

Sprint is a CDMA carrier.
Sprint will unlock the SIM slot for International roaming for current customers in good standing.
If you are not a Sprint customer, the phone is useless to you.

Cant use 1440x900 in MAcMini Help ASAP!!!!!!!

I have serious problems using my LCD widescreen display (viewsonic VA1903wb) I already have 3 macminis in my office and any of those 3 can use 1440x900 in a regular basis.
Some times, I start it up and it switches to a 1440x900 (the ideal, clear and crisp graphics resolution for my LCD) but when I restart or shutdown/start or Sleep, the resolution change to 1280x960 or 1400x1050 (normal view streched to the wide ratio)
It *****, because im a graphic designer, and all my work look stretched.
and need help for this problem ASAP!!!!
PS. I have a Cube G4 WITH THE SAME DISPLAY, AND O PROBLEMS, never change the resolution by itself.

Unfortunately it doesn't conclude with certainty, but it seems that Viewsonic has an architecture bug that doesn't allow a host system (Mac mini in this case) to power the I2C bus and EDID-containing ROM that lives inside the Viewsonic. That's a violation of the VESA standard for the plug and display interface. Either take it back for a refund or repurpose it to a PC, which doesn't rely on plug and display in the same ways a Mac does, if at all.
In my experience on these forums, it seems Viewsonic is not a Mac friendly company and I would recommend to anyone with a Mac to avoid them.

The only option is to contact that person to have them remove Activation Lock from the iPhone. They can do it online and do not have to come to you. Check out the article below for more information.

Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported.
Sounds like your iPhone was hacked/modified/jailbroken to work
with wireless carrier other than the one it was purchased from. The
update has relocked it to the original carrier. Contact the original
carrier to see if they offer unlocking and if you qualify - only the
carrier to which the iPhone is locked can unlock it.
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>Carrier?
Be advised that the previous modifications to change from original carrier
to your local Carrier may have rendered the iPhone unable to be
officially unlocked.
