Cant use screen mirroring wirelessly since yesterday

I got home today and i cannot get my HP laptop to connect to my samsung smart tv anymore..  I have only had this laptop for about two weeks but it has worked flawlessly since puchased and connected without any issues.  I use this feature to stream movies from my laptop to the TV without having to run an hdmi cable.  I have tried resetting the laptop and the tv, have disconnected all bluetooth and wireless devices and readded them.  I cant remember downloading anything on the PC in the past day or changing any settings.  This was really the only reason i bought this laptop so i am dying to get it fixed...please help!
The Samsung TV is less than a year old and there are no software updates available that are not already installed.
The HP laptop is a HP 15-g011nr model.
someone please make my day..this is driving me crazy.

Hello matchflick,
Welcome to the HP Forums! I'm here to make your day, like I do for the Princess
I understand the computer can no longer connect to the Samsung Smart TV. I'll do what I can to assist you! First, the basics:
1. Since the issue happened recently, you can try to fix it with a System Restore, bringing the computer back to a point in time where the issue didn't exist: Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8)
2. Make sure you've done everything in the following documents:
Connecting a Monitor, Projector or TV (Windows 8)
Using Intel® Wireless Display (WiDi) to Display Multimedia to Your TV
3. A reinstall of the graphics driver might help:
a) Go into Device Manager, then Display adapters.
b) Right-click on the graphics driver (should be Intel) and select "Uninstall".
c) Restart the computer. This will force a new driver to be written.
If that doesn't help, repeat the above steps, with a slight change to step "c":
Do not restart the computer. Go here and download the correct driver: Intel Download Center
If you still require assistance, please provide the computer's operating system. If you require assistance locating this information, please reference this website to determine your Windows operating system.

  • My iphone screen spazzes out since yesterday. i already restored it but it didnt work

My phone willl type things and go into different screens with just a single touch. i have the 4s and it is only a couple months old. I didnt open any emails or attachments or anything that could cause a virus. im very careful. I already restored it but that did not work. Could it be my screen?

If you already Restored it with iTunes on computer and still have the problem. Then make Genius reservation and take to Apple for resolution under Warranty Coverage.

    Hi

I have a video clip of it so you can see the problem.

There is some info here. Try creating a new user, if possible and log into that. If all is well, there is something wrong with your previous user account. If it still fails, then you've got a system-wide problem.
Third-party Contextual menus sometimes cause this problem. Look in yourUser/Library/Contextual Menu Items/ and move anything to the desktop. Restart and see if that helps. If it does, try placing them back one at a time until you find the culprit.
Good idea but hard to do if you only have 2 or 3 seconds before Finder relaunches.
    Try this:
    1. Restart computer and hold Command and S. The Command key usually has the Apple logo on it. This will boot you to Single User Mode which will be a black screen with lots of white text.
+Note about Single User Mode and these instructions+: Type everything exactly as instructed (including spaces), keeping letters lowercase or capitals as the appear on screen or in these instructions. In the instructions, when you see <RETURN>, instead of typing it out, you want to press the Return key on your keyboard. In the instructions if you see yourusername then you will need to type your username as you saw it on the screen.
    2. Type the following:
    mount -uw / <RETURN>
    ls /Users <RETURN>
Note: The last command will show a list of the different account folders. Find the one that has your name. This is your username.
    cd /Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences <RETURN>
    mv com.apple.Finder.plist com.apple.Finder.plist.old <RETURN>
    reboot <RETURN>
Note: At this point your computer should restart. Log in how ever you normally do and see if the same thing is happening. If not, stop here. Otherwise repeat step 1 and then go directly to step 3 below.
    3. Type the following:
    mount -uw / <RETURN>
    mv "/Users/yourusername/Library/Contextual Menu Items" "/Users/yourusername/Library/Contextual Menu Items.old" <RETURN>
Note: You may get a message saying the folder doesn't exist. If so, ignore it.
    mv "/Library/Contextual Menu Items" "/Library/Contextual Menu Items.old" <RETURN>
    reboot <RETURN>
Let the computer restart and things should be working after that.

  • Airplay screen mirroring on 4:3 projector, resolution problems.

    Hi!
I have an iPad 3, an ATV3 and a NEC NP400 projector which I'm trying to get to work together. I'm not sure about the projectors resolution, but i know it has a 4:3 aspect ratio.
I've tried to use screen mirroring with both the ATV 3 and a VGA adapter, and the problem is that I get black bars on each side no matter which method I use. I understand that the iPad 3 has a 4:3 aspect ratio and that black bars would appear with a 16:9 screen, but not on a 4:3 screen which is the ipads native aspect ratio.
It feels as if the iPad by defalut assumes that I'm having a 16:9 projector and adjust the aspect ratio to that fact. Is there anyway to tell the iPad that i'm having a 4:3 projector? Or should it detect that automatically?
The ATV fills the whole screen without black bars on each side, but as soon as I'm turning screen mirroring on via airplay the aspect ratio changes. There is no difference if I'm using the ATV or the VGA adapter.
How does these things work, and is there a solution?`
    Thanks!

I can't call to a mobile number since yesterday, but still can receive call from the same number. I am using iphone 4s. Is there any setting error?

you have to make sure that CFWD Bridge Mode under the Line tab of the SPA9000 where the SPA400 is registered is set to ALL...include VMSP Bridge and XFER Bridge Mode as well..power cycle then check if you are still getting one-way audio

  • I cant use my screen anymore?

My ipod was working fine until I downloaded a couple CD's onto it. Now I cant use the screen. I can turn it off using the home and hold button, but I cant slide to unlock or slide to power off. I tried resetting it and that worked for just a couple hours then went back to not being able to slide to unlock. Theres 16GB but I thought maybe I had too many apps so I deleted all but only 3 of my apps, but its still doing the same thing. It's like the screen doesn't realize that I am slide the button on the screen. How do I fix this?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Done
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • I responded to a request to update my computer yesterday and now cant use Reunion 8! Is Apple going to fix this problem?

I am unable to use Reunion 8 since yesterday when I responded to a request to update my computer! Now it will start to open and then quit. The makers of Reunion tell me it has affected a lot of users. Is Apple going to fix this "security" update? All of my genealogy info is in that program! I have backed it up on a disc but not since May 2011.

I've outlined the restore proceedure here, it covers a lot of bases and explains what is going to occur so please don't be intimidated it's a LOT easier that it appears.
Take your time and comprehend the steps involved and you'll be backup up like before in short order.
Security Update 2012-001 Bricks Rosetta programs
    Restore method.
#1 Backup your personal data off the machine.
Backup files off the computer (not to TimeMachine). If you don't have a external drive, get one and connect to the USB/Firewire port and simply drag and drop copy your User folder to the external drive, it will copy all your files. It's best to have two backups of your data off the machine when trying to restore.
Disconnect all drives now to prevent any mistakes from occuring.
#2 Try Restoring from a TimeMachine or hold option bootable clone
If you have TimeMachine drive, or a hold the option key bootable clone use that to erase and restore from before the Security Update occured.
Obviously if you didn't make a recent backup before the update, your going to have to skip to Step #3.
Note: A TM restore can take a awfully long time, a clone restore takes under 2 hours in most cases.
If you don't know how to restore from TM drive
    http://pondini.org/OSX/Home.html
    #3 Reinstall OS X 10.6 from disk
If no recent TM or bootable clone then:
Get out your 10.6 install disk and make sure it's clean and polished (very soft cloth and a bit of rubbing alcohol, no scratches) If your disk is borked, you'll have to order a new one from Apple with your serial number.
Hold c boot off the 10.6 disk (wired keyboard, internal optical drive), use Disk Utility First Aid to >Repair Disk and Permissions  (do not format or erase!!), Quit DU and simply re-install 10.6.
Note: Simply reinstalling 10.6 version from disk (without erasing the drive) only replaces 10.6.8 with 10.6.x and bundled Apple programs, won't touch your files (backup anyway)  or most programs, unless they installed a kext file into OS X itself. (only a few on average do this)
Note: If Disk Uitlity can't repair the drive, then come back to seek further assistance and make sure you have a copy of your data off the machine.
#4 Update to 10.6.8 without Security Update 2012-001
Reboot and log in, update to 10.6.8 via Software Update, but EXCLUDE THE Security Update 2012-001 by checkinig the details and unchecking the blue check box.
#5 Reinstall any non-working third party programs
When you reboot, make sure to reinstall any programs that require kext files installed into OS X, you'll know, they won't work when you launch them or hang for some reason.
If for some freakish reason you get gray screen at any time when booting (possible it might occur when you reinstall older programs), hold the shift key down while booting (Safe Mode, disables kext files) and update your installed third party software so it's compatible with 10.6.8.
    https://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570
Note: For most users likley Step #3 and #4 is likley all that is needed to be done.
    That's it really.

    Unverified hacks
Note: You may see a "hack" for this issue floating around, it has had mixed results as people's software is different.
You may want to try it, but it's at your own risk. It has worked fast for some and not at all for others, hopefully over time it will work for all.
The above methods I outline are Apple approved restore methods + based upon experience here and not a quick fix, but are sure to work as Apple recommends such steps themselves.
If at any time you feel this is beyond your capability, please seek local Mac/PC professional assistance before you lose your data.
In fact my steps above are very simple, you might want to have a family member or friend perfrom the proceedure in about a hour or two.
If you don't have any backup, please maintain at least a TM drive, just hook up a new blank external drive and TM will ask you to make a backup, takes some time so let it work.
If your a bit more skilled, a option bootable clone is much superior than TM drive.
    Good Luck

My MBP is Early 2011 but dunno why cant use mirroring with apple TV, the icon cannot be found. So cannot use mirroring.
I have follow trouble shooting , they recommend to go system preference -> display , thus can find out the mirroring icon if no mean it doesnt support. But according to the web, Early 2011 MBP should be able to use, dunno why.

Just realise I havent updated my OS to mountain lion and this is the reason why I cannot use mirroring before ^^

Please follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folder.
    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line below to select it:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder — not just its contents — to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
Quit and relaunch Mail, and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window. If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Post your results.
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

Try doing it in a WIndows Safe mode - Restart computer and hit F8 key right after your see BIOS check and choose "Safe mode with networking"
    Do the SFC /SCANNOW again.
If that does not work, whilst in safe mode, download Free Malwarebyte software from CNET's Download.com.  Install, update virus definition then perform a full scan.  Remove if it did find some viruses or trojans.  Restart computer.
Back to regular windows, do the SFC /SCANNOW again.
If that doesnot work, check to see if your Hard drive has errors or bad sectors
GO START BUTTON /COMPUTER, right mouse click OS (C:) and choose "Properties"
Choose "Tools" tab and under error checking, click "Check Now".
Make sure "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors" is checked and click start.
Restart windows will perform the above task to fix errors  This may take hours depends on how big is your Hard Drive
    Good Luck!!.

Recently i have updated my iphone 4 to latest 4.3.5 update using itunes... from the time i have updated... i am facing problems... like touch sensitivity... like cant attend the call at one swipe... cant use any applications at the corner of the screen... some times i touch message icon... it moves to next page... some times in the applications without touching the screen in the app the features get activated...    is it the problem with the software update or my iphone is having any problem with screen...
please let me know what should i do...

Do the basic troubleshooting steps described in the User Guide, Appendix B:
    Restart phone
    Reset phone
Restore in iTunes using a backup
Restore as a new iPhone, without using a backup.

    Also, remove any screen protector.
If none of the above works, there is a hardware problem that needs evaluation by Apple or whoever provides iPhone warranty service in your country.
