Cant use some funtions in firefox but still work with internet explorer, too long to explain in one ssentence

recently I have found that certain buttons on sites like facebook and others will not function when I am using firefox but if I use internet explorer those same buttons work fine. one example is the log out button in facebook. you can click on the command button all day but nothing happens. First thought this was a facebook issue but noticed certain command buttons did not work in other sites as well. Went to i.e. and everything works fine what has happened

i cant use the "google search" button with firefox 3.6.6 or even 3.5. I have no problem with searching google on internet explorer. The" Im feeling lucky" button works. The google search tab on the top right corner of firefox browser works fine. But the main google search button on the google site doesnt work. When click on search, the Google search result didn't update (the google search page didn't change). BUT the url bar on top did have the Google URL updated with the new search term.

So the URL is changed when I click the Google SEARCH button on the page. Just the page not changed nor updated.

Solution update: Disabled XULRunner 1.9.1 extension from Add-ons > Extensions. Problem solved.

I use Earthlink mailbox, and I want my email links to open with Firefox, but they open with Internet Explorer; how to fix?

I am using Windows XP 2002 operating system; Earthlink mailbox program for email with AT&T Broadband.
I want to have Firefox as my default browser, but my email links open with Internet Explorer. I have followed the Firefox help page to set Firefox as my browser, but the problem remains.
Do you know how to fix this? Is it a problem with Earthlink?

I have Microsoft Outlook also with Firefox and can open just about every link, url, company page, etc via the email links. First, make sure you have noted the email as NOT JUNK so that the links are activated by Outlook. Second, Firefox needs to your default browser for the links to open in Firefox rather than IE. There are some links from Microsoft that may ignore the default and open in IE but not all anymore. I have a Sony laptop which ignores the default browser and opens all of its support information from its VAIO software loaded on the computer in IE. Besides that though, over 95% of my items will open in my default brwser selection, which is currently Firefox.

Java pulgin is enablesed and still not working with firefox but is working with my explorer browser

Java 1.7.0_10 from Oracle Corp is working with my Explorer but when I go to a sight with Firefox, it shows that its not installed. When I go into Firefox's plug-ins, it shows that its enabled....How do I fix this?

Your plugins list only shows the Java Deployment plugin and not the Java plugin. 
A possible cause is that the Java installer failed to create the necessary registry keys that Firefox uses to scan for plugins.

Why cant I post anything or search in facebook when using Firefox but I can with internet explorer?

When I am using firefox I can not post on anyone's wall or search for friends. When I switch to internet explorer I can. This has been happening for over a week now. Some videos and other websites no longer work in Firefox but still OK in internet explorer

In Firefox, when I click on some YouTube videos, I get an errot message. The same link works fine in internet explorer.

We have an openerp server with webclient, after upgrade of firefox some icons are not oppening submenus as it used to be, while they are still working on internet explorer 8

We have an ERP application(openerp), where the web client was working very fine.
After one of the upgrades of firefox, some of the icons on the web page that should open a sub-page for selection of items in the main page are not working any more. We click on them, yet no response
I donwloaded the fidler and it record any request sent from the PC when clicking those icons.
I tired internet explorer 8 and the icons are working, so it is not a server side problem

I can't seem to copy & paste while I am using Firefox; but I can with Internet Explorer. What am I doing wrong? I guess I just don't understand how to do it.

I am working in Ancestry.com. If I am in Internet Explorer, I can copy a picture & then paste it in my pictures, on my computer. If I am using Firefox, I don't understand which things to do to copy & then paste a picture, like I can in Internet Explorer. I prefer to use Firefox, but need to be able to use this copy & paste feature, often. I just downloaded Firefox, & started using it, again, yesterday. I just got a new computer in June.

When you run out of keyboard short cuts, enter the addtional names in the name field in the keyword editor. That will start a new Keyword Collection. You can apply the addtional keywords to multiple cllips on the event browser. Or you can drag the clips into the Collection in the Event Library.

Unable to read e-mails off of Hotmail when using Firefox, but I can with Internet Explorer. Hotmail seems to be the only one I have trouble with.

Having trouble doing different functions on Hotmail when using Firefox. Doesn't seem to be a problem with other sites. Also, no trouble using Hotmail when using Internet Explorer. This just started, yesterday.

I can no longer open my Hotmail inbox with Firefox but I can with Internet Explorer

I have been using Firefox for some time and like. As of yesterday, I am able to open Windows live but can't get my hotmail inbox from that page. I have no problem getting to my hotmail inbox using Internet Explorer. What's wrong?

By the way, although Magellan Communicator is a stand-alone program, the way that web pages connect to it is through a plugin. When you check the plugins list, you should see it there. Screen shot attached for reference.

Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried, until the problem is resolved.
Step 1
Restart the router. Many problems are solved that way.

Change the name of the wireless network, if applicable, to eliminate any characters other than letters and digits. You do that on your router via its web page, if it's not an Apple device, or via AirPort Utility, if it is an Apple device.
Step 3
Run the Network Diagnostics assistant.

Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.

Why does my flashbuilder application not work in firefox, but does work in internet explorer?

I'm following the flex/facebook tutorial on adobe's site and when I run it in firefox nothing shows up, if i run it in internet explorer it shows the button...

Most likely a javascript error. Try opening the javascript console in FF and look for errors.

My email suddenly quit working with Firefox but still works with Google.

The inbox opens up but won't go to a message when it's clicked. Also won't delete messages or go to any other folders. New messages do come in-just can't read them. This started a couple days ago and Firefox didn't seem to be performing well that day. When it improved the email problem remained.
