I have a network in my home . i use time capsule 1TB and route my internet.
now the problem is i use to share all my PC drive in home network with mac but after i install 10.6.7 i cant find my pc shard folder on mac.
but still i can W/R mac shard file in PC windows 7.
in my network i have 3 macbook pro with 10.6.7 and 3 HP PC with windows 7
can anyone help me?

My recommendation, install the 64 bit Windows in order to use all your RAM, especially if you plan at any time increasing the amount of RAM to greater than 4GB. The only caution I have for you is that 20GB is way too small for Windows 7. Plan on at least 50GB or more depending on how much data you will have. 100GB will be better. I have 250GB Boot Camp partition and have used more than half of it without even trying.
I believe the installation instructions say to not use a wireless keyboard during installation. This is because you have to provide keyboard input during installation prior to the wireless keyboard drivers being installed.

Firefox V33.0 can't find user profile and cant view window content

I have used Firefox since the old days, wayyy back. Never an issue, always worked, always performed.
My Firefox (v32 I believe), automatically downloaded and applied the v33 browser and immediately, everything went wrong...
First, the browser loaded but the screen was either sheet black or sheet white, then reloading (after closing the window) was informed (only via the window title as all else was block black) that Firefox couldn't see a user profile.
I loaded FF with safe mode and disabled everything (list of addons at the bottom of this post), and the browser loads now and I can see content, but then after only a minute in "safe mode" firefox persistently returned with either a fatal crash or a sudden inability to find the user profile (causing exit).
Reading up about possible workarounds, I eventually managed to export the Profile data (to desktop), to clear the profile data and replace data with desktop copy. Clearing the data took several attempts due to firefox display only showing black or white as stated above, but firefox then couldn't "import" profile as I can't see whats going on in the window.
Eventually manually installed profile data (from desktop automatic copy) to firefox but FF still persisted in crashing to desktop and not displaying correctly if not in Safe mode. I eventually uninstalled firefox and reinstalled from scratch. The reinstall persisted with all the above mentioned issues, I did manually reinstate the FF user profile and crashing to desktop is now rare but does still happen, now it usually happens when Firefox is not the current active window.
Firefox still does not display correctly unless in the "Safe Mode".
Any clues or help or suggestion about why this would happen? Any way I can revert to version 32?

P.S>As additional info: I have tried the "reset firefox" but this caused numerous little bugs with saving the profile user data. Also reseting did not fix any of the issues.
Everything else on my computer works fine. No virus, no malware (Eset / MWBytes) all other programs fine, and FF was fine until V33!!

View Windows File Folder/Location in ITunes

Is there any way to see what file folder your music is in from iTunes (in the library)? I have some folders for very specific things and want to make playlists out of them, but have to manually pick out each and every one since I can't seem to sort the library by file location...

Get info (File menu) on any track will tell you where the actual files are stored. But I don't see how that would help much in making a playlist. You are correct that you cannot sort nor search iTunes by file location, so you'll still have to go through each item one by one, if you want to build a playlist solely based on where the track is stored on the hard drive.
Perhaps, though, you could use a tag editor to put a tag into the Comments or Grouping for each track in a given folder. Then you could use a Smart Playlist to search for those tags. Someone else here may be able to provide more information about that possibility.

My Windows machine 'see' the Mac. When i double-click or press enter on the Mac comp icon on my windows machine, I do not get any confirm box to enter username and password. Instead, I am allowed to view the content which is empty ( although I enabled some shared folder on my Mac)
Any suggestion to solve the problem pls .

If your Mac Pro has FileVault on, your Windows XP machine will not be able to access the files, as FileVault disables SMB and printer sharing for Windows XP clients.
In case FileVault is not on, you could try temporarily disabling the Windows firewall and the anivirus and/or internet security suite on the WinPC, and see whether it can access the files on your Mac Pro.

How can I view the number of items I have in a folder on Mac 10.9.2 (Mavericks)?

I have only been using Mac OS X 10.9.2 (Mavericks) for a little while so I'm having to deal with many inconveniences that I didn't have to face with Mac OS X 10.6.3 (Snow Leopard). It's frustrating that 10.9.2 (Mavericks) doesn't let me tap twice on the trackpad in order move or drag something, but at least I figured out how to do this in a different way. One part that I cannot figure out is how to view the number of files in each folder. With Snow Leopard, I was able to view the number of files on that folder automatically by looking at the bottom of the folder (*See the example on the photo). On the bottom of that folder, you will see the number of items, which it 10. Every time I add new files (or folders within that folder), it will update the number of items to the appropriate number. This is especially useful to me if I'm going to have many items within a folder and when I need to make sure that the number I have is exact. For example, sometimes I have to save files in a precise number and order. If I miss saving a file with a specific number, and I don't catch that the number of items is off as early as possible, I may have to waste time looking through files to try to figure out what is missing. For this reason, I have to find a convenient way to view the number of items in each folder with Mac OS 10.9.2 (Mavericks) or else using it will be a hassle.
Now that I'm using Mac OS X 10.9.2 (Mavericks), I don't see any information on the folder that tells me how many items are in it (*See photo below). I keep looking to see if it's located somewhere else on the folder or if I can change the folder preferences to make it become visible. I also clicked on the folder and on "Get Info" (which would be inconvenient if I had to do this constantly). This showed me the number of items in that folder but I can't always keep checking like this because it's time-consuming and distractive.
I need to find a way to make the number of items appear on the folder itself, while it is open.
Do you know a convenient way to view the number of items in a folder?
Is there some way I can change the preferences so that the number becomes visible on the folder itself?

There's no "New File" shortcut in Finder on Macs, so you have to launch the application you want (eg TextEdit), create your document, and save it there. There are workarounds using Terminal (the touch command), AppleScript/Automator, and using third-party launch programs like Quicksilver, but natively, it can't be done.

i cant view it on safari, firefox, netscape, or my old internet explorer. new I.E. isnt available for mac...as far as i remember. hmm. anyone have a workaround or alt. link to see this concert online?

Mac OS X 10.5: Mail shows no viewer window, can't be quit

Recently installed OS X 10.5.6 on my MacBook because my iPhone crashed - the genius bar wiped my iphone and installed software that was no longer compatible with Tiger. So I had to upgrade my MacBook.
Since upgrading, Mail on my MacBook won't work. No viewer window - all my smart folders are gone except for two and it can't be quit. Support says upgrading is my only option: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2537 --- is this true? I can't afford another upgrade which would also require me purchasing more RAM.
Any thoughts/help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you thank you!

The update is free. In fact you should just download the 10.5.8 Combo Updater, also free. Upgrading to Snow Leopard is not free. It costs $29.00.
Before applying any system software upgrades be sure you do the following:
A. Clone using Restore Option of Disk Utility
1. Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
4.Check the box labeled Erase destination.
5. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
6. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
7. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive.
Source means the internal startup drive.
B. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

First, if you have a MACBOOK PRO (a laptop), you should post in that forum. MAC PRO (desktop) and Macbook Pro are different things, so when you use those terms interchangeably, it's impossible to know what you're talking about.
Second, even guessing that you have a laptop, I still have no idea what your question means. Are you trying to load Microsoft Windows on it? Every Mac can run Windows using either Boot Camp or Parallels/Fusion/VMWare solutions. Please explain in more detail what you're trying to do, and we'll try to help. But post in the Macbook Pro forum if you're talking about a laptop.
