Cant watch a video

I was trying to watch a video from my e-mail and I couldn't so a link come up letting me know that i need to download a new program call divix after this I still cant watch my videos and when I try to watch a mac video sample from the Internet a have not image, can anybody help me

Maybe the video is in Flash format. Apple IOS devices do not support Flash.
Check using your computer browser.
If it's Flash try this browser app:

Welcome to the user to user Apple Support forums.
I have tired Safari and Firefox on CNN and the video seems to load just fine, also there isn't any widespread issue. So I'm thinking this is a specific issue to your machine.
I don't know why the videos are not playing, I'm assuming you have a fast enough Internet connection, but we can try a few things like installing any and all codecs and running some maintainence and repair functions that might clear the issue up.
Install the software at these two locations and reboot your machine, see if the site works.
Perian (installs additional Quicktime codecs)
FlipForMac (Windows media in Quicktime)
You'll likely come across media that requires these codecs eventually so for all intensive purposes it's eliminating a possiblity.
Also I just noticed the CNN site uses Flash, please update your Flash player plug-in here

Please bookmark these sites for later use, Flash get updated often.

Hi..
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click: Remove All Website Data
Now back to the menu bar, click Safari > Empty Cache
Quit then relaunch Safari.
Try one of the sites you had trouble accessing...

after i update the flash player i found that i cant watch facebook video, even those video that i upload myself
i did tried on chrome, firefoz and also IE
all of these browser are not working.

Try using the Facebook app on your iPad. This is a known problem and is caused by Facebook and not your iPad or phone.

A Good One Windows XP

YouTube uses Flash Video.
You need to install the free Flash Player (now Adobe).
You may also need to adjust your QuickTime Control Panel MIME Settings. Under Miscellaneous remove the check mark for Flash Media.
Quit and relaunch any open browser for these changes to take effect.

You are correct, there is no flash player on the iPhone, find an alternate browser that may be able to help your quest.
Or use the corresponding app in the App Store.

Cant watching streaming video keep get error code 2048

I cant figure out how to watch the video every time i open the link it sends me to a new page which shows the video loading then this message show up - the operation couldnt be completed the file is not a movie file(-2048)
the video works on my dads pc. ive tiref filp4mac, vlc, perian nothing seems to work
any ideas on how to fix this problem would be much appeciated.

Try opening your applications folder, then get info
on the safari icon. Check Rosetta, Restart. this
should allow you to use Quicktime video in Safari.
Quicktime doesn't require Rosetta in any way. Its already universal.

Might be the Flash plugin causing this...
Uninstall the old then reinstall new > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
And empty your browser cache more often.

i know i made a second post about this i messed up. so i cant watch any youtube videos on firefox but i can watch them on google chrome and internet explore. when i try to play a youtube video i cant cick play and the video is all black i post a screen and show you.

Guys i can watch youtube videos now its just that when i played a video the screen was black but after a while i can watch youtube videos on firefox now.
