Cant watch iTunes says disk is full

Anytime I try and watch a movie on my PC it says I cant because the disk is full.  I googled it but everything that came up was for MAC.  Is there a way to fix this?
Thank you

  • ITunes library on external drive won't load, iTunes says disk is full and only partial library loads. What is it doing, making another copy?

I have an archive of all my music on an external drive. I wanter to play the music on another computer. When I hooked up the drive and launched iTunes with option key, I linked up the library on the external. iTunes gets part way through linking then says can't load the rest as the disk is full. What disk? What is iTunes doing that it needs more hard drive space for files that already exist? Why can't iTunes just see the files on the external and play them without this seeming dupe process?

Tried hooking up my external drive to my Mini. This morning my Mini had all my info listed, but I couldn't play any songs, for obvious reasons. Now, my Mini is hooked up to the external, iTunes prefs are set on the path to the external - but there is no music in iTunes. No lists, no songs, nada. Just a virgin iTunes window. ***?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Of course not. Your iTunes library will not be modified, so you can reinstall iTunes if needed.

  • IPhoto Library Says disk is full and it isnt!!

    Hello Al
My first post on here - have tried following various other threads relating to this but my problem is that I that although I am getting a message in iphoto saying I cant import as iphoto library is full - it is by no means full. The library is on my hard drive which has 500gig free!!
I do have external hard drives etc. and can of course copy the library to these - but I don't understand why when I have 500gig free I am being told the disk containing my iphoto library is full?
Please help as I have so many photos on my camera I would like to import so I can make some Christmas prezzies! Thanks
    Claire

What size have you allocated to the dmg?
There is no need for this with iPhoto 09.
You can simply drag the Library to the Users/Shared Folder.
In each account in turn: Double click on the Library to open it. (You may be asked to repair the Library Permissions.) From that point on, this will be the default library location. Both accounts will have full access to the library, in fact, both accounts will 'own' it.
However, there is a catch with this system and it is a significant one. iPhoto is not a multi-user app., it does not have the code to negotiate two users simultaneously writing to the database, and trying will cause db corruption. So only one user at a time, and back up, back up back up.
If that still reports the same issue, then Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Time Machine deleting backups, says disk is full when there's lots of space

I recently successfully duplicated the sparse disk image bundles for two computers to a 1TB drive. Time Machine has been working just fine for weeks with this new setup and was backing up normally.
Then I began getting "Disk is full" errors and Time Machine is saying it is deleting back ups to create more space. This is confusing as the disk says there is over 740 GB available -- our back ups are not even totaling 200 GB combined.
    How can I remedy this?
    Thank you.

    Hank,
I realized last night, after I shut everything down for a tornado warning form Hanna - no tornado..., that the spaces in the disk name were your immediate problem.....sorry
In addition to dragging the file, you can also type '\' as an escape character before things like spaces to say treat them as part of the name not, as in the case of a space, as a separator.
In your latest error message the term 'socket' implies possibly a link to use of a wireless connection. I seemed to have no trouble using a wireless link to re-size yesterday. I was pointing to a USB drive attached to the TC, not the TC's internal disk. You'd think it wouldn't make a difference, but......
I didn't want to mess with the live sparsebundles on the TC drive, and had copies for experimentation on a USB drive on the TC.... But today I tried it on the TC's drive via wireless and it works.
You might try a direct connection via Ethernet cable if you can.
In addition hdiutil has a -verbose option which you can add to the command line that gives additional detail and may yield a clue to the problem. It also had a -debug option that provides even more voluminous output which the man page says is "- debug and -verbose generate almost entirely independent outputs."
    The format is like this:
hdiutil resize -size nnnG -verbose /path...to..sparsebundle
The -verbose and/or -debug go after the resize verb.
The -debug output is truly humongous! Try -verbose first if you need the diagnostic output.
These might help us get you going.

  • Cant open itunes says dont have apple application support

    cant open  itunes help

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, does iTunes launch properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • AME says Disk is Full

Using Premiere Pro CS6 to export 1080p50 with export setting "Match sequence settings", AME always pops up a window saying error compiling movie, disk is full.
Is there a solution to the bug yet ?
    Regards

I am having the same issue except my format is 1080p60.  My hard drive is formatted as NTFS file system and I have a 64 bit machine with Windows 7.  I am using a AVCHD video camera and have made color corrections in Premiere Pro CS6.  I want to keep the 1920 x 1080P with 59.97 fps configurations and store on my hard drive.  I get the mpeg format as the selection (the original file format is .m2ts) and I can make no changes to that selection, but, like mentioned above, after 20-30 seconds of AME processing I receive a disk full error even though I have well over 1.1 TB file space free and the original clip was about 82 MB in size.

  • IPhone Settings shows 22GB avaialble, iTunes says it is full

My iPhone 6+ shows very clearly that there is 22GB storage available however iTunes says that I require another 4GB is required to sync, my other section has ballooned to 86GB overnight! I have checked the usage section of the storage however there is nothing there which identifies the excess storage usage, iTunes match has been turned off. I have 1xiPhone 4S, 1xiPhone 5, 2xiPhone 6+, 2xiPad Gen2, 1xIpad Mini and 2xiPod Touch all syncing to the same system the only problem is with one of the iPhone 6+'s.
I have had this problem for a while, I have reset the device and restored the unit via a backup, I have reset the device and set up as a new phone, however the problem returns it is obviously a iTunes problem here, but when I check the web a lot of people have the same issue but with no remedy except reset and restore which is not good enough as I do no wish to action this remedy every week and spend hours re-setting up my device.
I have updated the device to iOS 8.1.3
    Thanks for your help.

log out of itunes store in settings, wait 10 minutes, then log back in.  your storage should go back to what it should have been all along.  there is an itunes media caching bug / storage leak in ios 8 (all versions so far), and apple for some reason has decided it isn't worth fixing.
you may have to repeat this again if the storage fills up again
i would urge all ios users to try this trick before spending a ton of time on a full backup/restore
if this trick doesnt work for you, though, a full backup/restore is probably your best bet - and be sure to select the option to encrypt the backup because it will include apps and passwords and make your restoring that much quicker and easier

  • Time machine won't backup. Says disk is full ( stand alone disk). Souldn't it delete enough to create new backup. Last backup was 7/20/11. When I click "enter time machine' it goes to mail screen and nowhere else.

Time machine won't backup. Says disk doesn't have enough room. Shouldn't it delete old info to make space for new.
When I click on "enter time machine" it takes me to the last backup 7/22/11 and doesn't allow me to go further back.

    No idea's?
I'm starting to think I just need to delete the sparsebundle file altogether and start over again...

  • ITunes says iPod is full.  Impossible!    Please help me.

When synched to iTunes my new 60GB iPod is read as near full, in fact it states at the bottom, underneath the scroll bar, that I have used 49GB. Remarkably, directly below that, where it lists the amount of songs, time, and space on my iPod it says that I have 1600 songs, a total of 8.5GB. I cannot imagine why iTunes would issue me a warning saying it would not be able to update the rest of my library as my iPod does not have enough space. Furthermore, I have only backed up less than a gigs worth of documents on my iPod, by simply dragging and dropping into the iPod folder under My Computer. So, the only data on my iPod at this point (to the best of my knowledge) is the original software, my 1GB of information, and my 8.5GB of music. Which means to me, that I should have about 46GB of free space, where is it??!!!
Update: There is a folder I had tried to place on my iPod the other day entitled Music Videos (disk use is enabled), which contained all of 6 videos, due to some error, it stopped transferring. I chose not to try to upload it again, and I went to delete the newly created folder in my iPod's folder. That is all it was, a folder, named Music Videos. 0 Bytes. I would not delete, giving me a very Windows response: "Cannot delete file: Cannot read from source file or disk." Today when I looked at my iPod in My Computer, the Music Video folder has several folders and files in it, with strange encryption (*=╧Φεj.╗σô), and none of them contain anything, or take any space as they are all 0 Bytes. Yet, when I select the Music Video folder and click Properties, it informs me that the folder is 21GB large. When I try to delete the folder I receive the same error message. How is this possible?!

I did, it completely wiped my iPod, except for the folders themselves, and I received an error message at the end of the updater along the lines of 'reformating error.'
Unfortunately, I am still unable to put music, etc. back on my iPod. And this time, iTunes does not recognize my iPod, even though my computer sees it as "Jacen Horns" iPod.
    Also, I share jonathan kelly1's
jonathan kelly1, "aarrrgghhh! its driven me insane!", 05:03pm Sep 1, 2005
opinion that iPods are advertised to work completely with USB 2.0, and I should not have to go out and buy a new PCI card, plus docking port. Not to mention, I already have a new powered Firewire/USB 2.0 PCI card, and nothing else is plugged into it, and I have tried every port (also, I reinstalled my card into another slot, just in case).
I am going to see a Genius on Wednesday, just to see if they can resolve my problems. I'll keep everybody posted on the outcome.

  • My iphone 4 will not sync with itunes, says library is full

My iphone 4 will not sync with itunes, i tunes says that the library is too full, I have deleted so much off my phone and out of my itunes library but it is not helping, do I need to delete more items off my phone or out of itunes to get it to sync?

  • TC says disk is full, but it isn't

    Hi There,
My 500 GB Time Capsule now and then gives me the message "Disk is almost Full" (roughly translated from dutch) and states that older backups will be overwritten.
When I check disk however, there still is more then enough space left (something like 240 GB).
Is there something wrong? Are older backups overwritten? Is there a setting I've mist, where you can set the maximum backup usage size?
    Thanks in advance,
    Benjamin

I get this error message or I get "The backup is larger than the available space" (which it isn't).
I have no idea what the solution is but I'm done with Time Machine and Time Capsule, I'm switching my 1TB TC to a NAS and reverting to Mac Backup at least that way I can restore libraries simply rather than having to remember file names etc.

  • FCPX says disk almost full - but 5.7GB are free

I bought a G Raid 8TB Thunderbolt external drive and moved all of my project ove rto it to increase performance.  I am in th emiddle of creating multicam clips and at 97% FCPX is saying that the drive is almost full yet there is plenty of room left.  Any ideas?
    (2) 6 TB eSata Drives
    (1) Thunderbolt Display
    (1) Thunderbolt GRaid 8TB Drive
    (1) Lacie Thunderbolt/eSata Hub
    All updates current
    OSX 10.8.2
2.3GHz Intel Core i7 Macbook Pro
    16GB 1333 MHz DDR3
    Thanks
    Derek

5.7GB free on the new 8TB Thunderbolt.  The project and events associated with this job are on the 8TB drive.  The drive was specifically bought for this client's project.  There is 1gb free on the main HD and muliple TBs free on all other drives.  No reason for FCPX to state any drive is almost full and there was only one set of clips left to process as multicam, 8gb of material in al for this one multiclip.

  • Cant watch itunes home videos on ipad

How do I view my uploaded itunes "home videos" on my ipad?  os 10.10.1 and os 8.1.1

    If you have :
    - home sharing enabled on your Mac's iTunes (File > Home Sharing ; and check what is being shared in the Sharing tab in iTunes > Preferences)
    - home sharing enabled on your iPad with the same account (Settings > Videos or Settings > Music)
    - both the Mac and your iPad connected to the same network and,
    - iTunes is open on your Mac
then you should get a 'Shared' tab at the top of the Videos app which will allow you to select your Mac's iTunes videos. All your Mac's Movies (so actual films as well as home videos) will probably be shown on the same screen on your iPad, mine doesn't distinguish between type of 'film'. Not sure whether it's just my library, but I don't get cover art showing for all of my shared videos on my iPad.
