Cantact info not showing unless opened in new window

I messed up my contacts and am trying to get them back to the way they were.
When my contacts is open, the contact information only shows the name of the person on their card unless I open the card in a seaparate window. Any ideas how to have it show the information on the right page of the cantacts "book?" Thanks.

You should not do it there. Use the windows parameter for you Resource config and set "target=_blank"....I am not on my server right now but search these forums and there are some older posts about it.....or wait a little while for someone wanting easy points who will cut-and-paste it here for you pretty soon. =)

    how to display top or suggested sites as tiles? I cannot perform this task. Please assist.

    I don't get it. Maybe you have a hidden extension? Those are disabled in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
    You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
    After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset).
    Any difference?
    In case your Firefox program files got damaged by the latest update, you could try the following type of reinstall that does not touch your settings files. Important: do NOT uninstall Firefox first. That is not needed.
    '''Clean Reinstall'''
    (1) Download a fresh installer for Firefox 36.0.1 from https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ to a convenient location. (Scroll down to your preferred language.)
    (2) Exit out of Firefox.
    (3) Rename the program folder
    ''(64-bit Windows folder names)''
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
    to
    C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox
    ''(32-bit Windows folder names)''
    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    to
    C:\Program Files\OldFirefox
    (4) Run the installer you downloaded in #1. It should automatically connect to your existing settings.
    Any improvement?
    Note: Some plugins may exist only in that OldFirefox folder. If something essential is missing, look in these folders:
    * \OldFirefox\Plugins
    * \OldFirefox\browser\plugins

    I closed the only opened Firefox process that was running. Then clicked the Fox to start Firefox again. I received a message: Firefox is already running, but not responding, to open a new window. • Firefox crashes, typically (but not exclusively) when opening a new window.

    Firefox has been crashing every couple of hours for the past month or so. It seems to happen the most when I open a new tab, but I think it has crashed other times too. I have also seen it get up to 1,000,000+K in my memory (running at 432,000K right now).
    Hardware acceleration has been off and that hasn't helped.

    Wyoung221: I've looked over your crash reports and two things are consistent.
    1) Your crash report signatures are consistent with one signature <i>(gfxContext::PushClipsToDT(mozilla::gfx::DrawTarget)</i> which refers to graphics. (1)
    There's one signature <i>(mozilla::WebGLTexture::DoDeferredImageInitialization(unsigned int, int)</i> that has a new bug filed on it but it's stalled.
    2) Your System Memory Use Percentage hovers around 70-80% so this could be out of memory crashes as well. (2)
    1. Firefox has hardware acceleration set to "on" by default, but it's still young, which means some video cards or drivers might have problems with it. You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox (you need to close and restart Firefox).
    *Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    2. In addition to the hardware acceleration, the System Memory Use Percentage in the crash reports is rather high, so this might be out-of-memory crashes

  • Firefox is not opening and saying " firefox is alredy running but not responding ,to open a new window you must close the existing fireox process" even though there is no other window open

    this has been happening since i updated i have windows 7 but firefox beta used to work just 3 days ago i had mcafee site advisor but i deleted it its not working every time i click on the icon it displays the above message

    I discovered that when the "Firefox is already running . . . ." message pops up I can fix it by doing the following [note: I get the same message for the Thunderbird e-mail program too] : 1. I open 'TASK MANAGER" and click on the "Processes" tab. 2. Next I scroll down until I see Firefox.exe *32 in the leftmost column (or Thunderbird. exe *32 if the message came up there), highlight that line by clicking on it and then click on the "end process" button on the right side on the bottom. 4. A pop-up window will come up but ignore its message and click on the "end process" button in the pop-up window. The program should then start the next time you click on the icon..
    While that saves the need to restart your PC to fix the problem, I have yet to find any information as to the reasons for those two processes to show up in the first place. I'm running the 64 bit Win 7 Professional and do not know if that has something to do with those two processes running from time to time or not. The message comes up often but not all the time and I haven't been able to pinpoint any action on my part where the message comes up if I do '''X '''or the message never comes up when I do '''Y''' before closing Firefox or Thunderbird.

  • I open firefox it keeps saying"Firefox is already running,but not responding.To open a new window,you must first close the existing Firefox process,or restart your system" i tried restart my computer...but it's still keep saying that..pls help me..

    As I stated above, I have to constantly restart my computer because I get a message stating firefox is already running.

    Do you see a firefox.exe in the Task manager if you look there right after you get this error message?
    You do not have to restart the computer, just kill that process.
    This situation may occur if Firefox was not closed correctly or crashed.

  • I often get this message. Firefox is already running but is not responding.To open a new window you must first close the excisting Firefox process or restart your system.Thankyou Colin.

    So this message appears mainly if I were changing web sites.Can't carry on until I have cleared everything from screen,gone on to my Thunderbird e-mail then Firefox will load again.I can then just carry on till next time.

    Please look at [[Firefox is already running but is not responding]]
    The initial problem is solved by killing any process firefox.exe, ( & maybe also plugincontainer.exe) Make sure you always close firefox by using the option Firefox Button -> Exit
    You may need to investigate further and clear some of the duplicated files that may exist.

  • JMenu Bar does not show unless I resize the window

    Hi, I have just a simple problem. I am trying to just have a blank JFrame with a JMenuBar at the top with the JMenu "File". I have the following code, but once I run the application it is just a blank frame with no Menus. Once I grab the frame and resize it with the mouse, it appears. What do I need to do to have the menu bar be shown once the application runs?
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    class ProgramWindow extends JFrame
    private JMenuBar jmb = new JMenuBar();
    private JMenu file = new JMenu("File");
    public ProgramWindow()
    setSize(300, 300);
    setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
    setVisible(true);
    setJMenuBar(jmb);
    jmb.add(fileMenu);
    Container c = getContentPane();
    c.setBackground(Color.lightGray);
    c.setLayout(new BorderLayout());
    setConentPane(c);
    public class Program
    public static void main (String[] args)
    ProgramWindow pw = new ProgramWindow();
    }

    Normally you poop up and decorate frames/dialogs before you set them
    visible. Otherwise you have to revalidate() them after you' ve added
    some components to them. (resizing them does that for you as you have
    noticed).
    kind regards,
    Jos

  • Everytime I open a new window to browse, in this new window I would right click to open link in new tab but the new tab always shows up in the other window.

    I would click a link which opens a new window. Then in this new window, I would right click to open link in new tab. The new tab does not show up in this new window. It instead shows up in the original browser window. How can I make the new tab show up in the same window?

    Firefox did have a behavior where some new windows -- those considered to be dialogs -- could not have new tabs, so new tabs were diverted to the window from which the dialog was opened.
    According to the bug tracking system, a fix is in the works:
    [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=644729 644729 – Popup window with all toolbars visible causes new tabs to open in another browser window] referencing [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485237 485237 – Need to treat popups consistently].
    That second ones says Target Milestone: Firefox 12, so the fix probably didn't make it into Firefox 11.
    WORKAROUNDS
    That first bug says there is an add-on to work around this -- it enables the middle mouse button to open links in a dialog window: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bug-586234-unfixer/ Bug 586234 Unfixer :: Add-ons for Firefox]. I haven't tried it myself.

  • I cannot open a New Window. How do I get the ability to open a new (second) window?

    When I upgraded from 3.6.15 to 3.6.18 it wiped out the use of all my extensions, add ons, and bookmarks, yet they were all still there. I deleted the suffixes on extensions, rebooted FF and they all started working. The only thing not working is opening a New Window. I click on File - New Window, I right click on FF icon on desktop, icon in Quick menu, I tried dragging a tab to the desktop. Nothing works.
    Also FF will not allow me to install the update Adobe plugin.

    -> Tap ALT key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar
    -> go to Help Menu -> select "Restart with Add-ons Disabled"
    Firefox will close then it will open up with just basic Firefox. Now do this:
    -> Update ALL your Firefox Plug-ins https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
    -> go to View Menu -> Toolbars -> unselect All Unwanted toolbars
    -> go Tools Menu -> Clear Recent History -> '''Time range to clear: select EVERYTHING''' -> click Details (small arrow) button -> place Checkmarks on '''Cookies, Cache, Site Preferences''' -> click "Clear Now"
    -> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Content -> place Checkmarks on:
    1) Block Pop-up windows 2) Load images automatically 3) Enable JavaScript
    -> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Privacy -> History section -> '''Firefox will: select "Use Custom Settings for History"''' -> REMOVE Checkmark from '''"Permanent Private Browsing mode"''' -> place CHECKMARKS on:
    1) Remember my Browsing History 2) Remember Download History 3) Remember Search History 4) Accept Cookies from sites -> select "Exceptions..." button -> Click "Remove All Sites" at the bottom of "Exception - Cookies" window
    4a) Accept Third-party Cookies -> under "Keep Until" select "They Expire"
    -> REMOVE CHECKMARK from CLEAR HISTORY WHEN FIREFOX CLOSES
    -> When using the Location Bar, suggest: select "History and Bookmarks"
    -> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Security -> place Checkmarks on:
    1) Warn me when sites try to install add-ons 2) Block reported attack sites 3) Block reported web forgeries 4) Remember Passwords for sites
    -> Click OK on Options window
    -> click the Favicon (small drop down menu icon) on Firefox SearchBar (its position is on the Right side of the Address Bar) -> click "Manage Search Engines" -> select all Unwanted Search Engines and click Remove -> click OK
    -> go to Tools Menu -> Add-ons -> Extensions section -> REMOVE All Unwanted/Suspicious Extensions (Add-ons) -> Restart Firefox
    You can enable your Known & Trustworthy Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working.
