Canvas with tab page

i have a content canvas(blockA) with 2 tab pages(tab1 and tab2) on it. each tab has its own block (blockB and blockC, but they are not master-detail, they are populated by cursor). on the content canvas, i have a column such as DEPT. when i key up or key down the dept column,how can i re-populate all items on tab2? I wrote a 'when tag change'trigger. but when i am current on tab2, and i key up/down to change the deptno, how can i refresh the data on tab2 which are associated by deptno?

Newbie Help - Tab Canvas with Multiple Pages, Arrow to Navigate between

Hi All,
I am developing my first form. It is a page that requires several pages. I have created a tab canvas and put the pages on (there are 10 pages). When i run the form, i can see the first 4 page headers, and cannot see the other headers. Is there a way to have a arrow at the top so i can click on it to move the display so i can see the other pages?
How would this normally be done? What i am after is a similar multi page navigation to that in the assignment screen, or any oracle screen with several pages.

If i press F2, a list of all of the pages appear, but i do not get any arrows.
I have a single tab canvas with 10 pages on it. The pages fit on the canvas, but not on the display window. Do i need to modify the canvas in any way to get the navigation arrows to display?

With content canvas, we can navigate to the next block with CRTL/PgDown, With tab canvas if i press CRTL/PgDown, i go directly to the next tab page!! Any solution to avoid this?

Validation vs Stack canvas on tab page

Hi,
I have a problem about how to show/hide view when validation was triggered.
My situation is:
- I have a 3 pages tab-page. On the first tab, I have a stack canvas. I have codes to show the canvas at When-new-form-instance and show/hide the view at When-Tab-page-change.
Problem:
- I click on the third page and enter something wrong values on a field and then I didn't go to another field, click the first page directly.
The oracle form shows the first tab without the stack canvas and the error message popup at the same time.
- We have a backend procedure which is used to give the error include the Raise form_trigger_failure. When the validation is fail, this procedure will be called to give the error message. It is a standard procedure so we must use it.
- I tried to Show_view before or after the error message, but it cannot help.
Question:
Is there any method to help this problem? Thanks for advance..

Another solution without a timer : You can use the WHEN-TAB-PAGE-CHANGED-Trigger to handle the change of a tabpage. And here, before you navigate to another tabpage, you can use the built-in ENTER to start the validation before the next tabpage is displayed.+When-tab-page-changed runs AFTER the tab page has switched. If you run validation from it, you will need to check if the validation failed, and then go back to the prior tab page.
Also, the Validate built-in is a better method to cause validation to occur.

Organizational Management- Dealing with tab pages

Hello Experts,
I need to include tab page for account assignment to be displayed for object type P "Person". I've used view T77OCTABUS in order to include this tab page, the following record was created.
Scenario: OME0
Object type: P
Tab page: ACCNTNG
Sequence: 15
Program Name:SAPLRHOMDETAIL_APPL
Screen Number: 0504
FM for icons: HRFPM_ADT_FRAMEWORK_TABS
But the problem is only the part of cost assignment is shown without showing the part of validity dates on the screen. And when checking the technical information for the field of start and end dates, different program name and screen number is shown and when changing the previous record with the new program name and screen number, only the start and end dates are shown.
Please Help me on this issue so that both the validity dates and the part of cost assignment is shown.

11g Forms Tab-Page Navigation

I am using Forms 11g on Solaris.
A main navigator form opens another form which has a content canvas, tab-page canvas and (3) stacked canvases.
The problem I am having is with tab-page navigation.     CTRL+TAB ( next ) and CTRL+SHIFT+TAB ( previous )
As long as I do not initiate navigation from an item on a stacked canvas, navigation is as expected ( between tab pages only ).
However, navigating from an item within a stacked canvas causes navigation to the parent form.
Repeating the tab navigation keys from the parent form returns to the called form.
Note that both key-combinations simply toggle back and forth.
I have found no documentation on tab-page navigation so any help / insight is greatly appreciated !

Changing block order in the called form does not affect the navigation between tab pages.
Note in my question that the resulting undesired navigation is to and from the calling form ( which only has one block ).
Navigation between items and blocks works as expected.
To reiterate -
     The only navigation that fails is when I attempt to CTRL+TAB or CTRL+SHIFT+TAB to another tab page from within an item on a stacked canvas.
     Attempting this navigation results in moving the cursor focus to the calling form.
     Repeating the attempt from the calling form moves back to the called form.
     None of your methods mention navigation between forms .

Tab Pages don't do it

I have a very easy form designed with Forms 6i.
A tab canvas with two pages. Each page has a block.
Running this as a C/S-form in Win XP is ok.
Running this as a Webforms-form in a browser is ok.
Running under Windows NT 4 isn't possible, because I cannot navigate to the second page. The cursor jumps back to the first page every time I click on the second page.
Who knows this problem?

USe the When-tab-page-changed trigger to navigate to the block on the second tab. Focus is popping back to the first tab at the moment because that's where the cursor physically is and forms always makes the canvas that contains the cursor visible.

Move Field from Stacked Canvas to Tab Canvas

Forms R2 10.1.2.0.2. Adding tab canvas to an existing form and want to retrofit a tab canvas into the form. When I move an existing field via the property sheet by changing Canvas and Tab page to Page, the field does not show. I can create a new field on the tab canvas with no problem. Is there a trick here that I am missing?

I figured it out. You have to reset the X & Y position with an offset of the 0,0 position. The Tab Canvas has it own Grid separate from the Main Canvas, which starts at 0,0. I should have seen it before creating this post.

Urgent: Stack Canvas in Tab canvas

Hi,
I have a very urgent requirement. Please help me solving this.
I want to have One tab canvas which has three tab pages.
On the First Tab i want to fetch the data from some table say XX_CUSTOM_TABLE.
Now, This should be displayed in Tabular format with Horizontal and vertical scrolling as the table has many columns.
Please give me step by step instructions so that it could be implemented quickly.
P.S : I am using Oracle forms 6i.

Hi,
1. When i open the form only the fields added in the tab canvas are visible.
Where u have drawn the stack canvas,you need to create in the main canvas where ur tab canvas is there and u need to drag it to tab canvas.Have u created the trigger when tab_page_changed?
2. when i change the tab page from tab 1 to tab 2 and then again get back to tab 1, then the stack canvas fields are visible and the fields in tab gets invisible.
Just place the stack canvas correctly after the fields in tab page 1.
3. The stack canvas is not horizontally scrolling.
Just go to the property palette of stack canvas and make yes to both horizontal and vertical to yes.
Do i have to create a stack canvas separately? and then how do i drag it into tab canvas. i am still not getting this. because.
when i open the tab canvas page i do not find the stack layout so that i can drag it like a normal text item.
Yes u need to create a stack canvas separately. Just open the Mani canvas the tab pages are there, then in that click the stack canvas icon and create a stack canvas and create all the fields, and move the stack canvas to the tab page. And u need to create a when tab page changed trigger at form level.

1) Are the blocks ordered in the Object Navigator ... as they appear in the tabs of your tab canvas...????
2) Is there in the 'save trigger' or in other place (which take place in the save process) a "go_item(<itemname_of_the_previous_tab>)" or "go_block(<block_resides_in_the_previous_tab>)"...????

How disable a tab page

Hi to all,
In a Form I have a Tab canvas with 4 Pages.
When I run the form, I need that only the first Tab is enabled.
I have tried, placing in the Form WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger the code:
Set_View_Property('MY_TABPAGE2', ENABLED, PROPERTY_FALSE) ;
But when I run the form the page 2 is still enabled.
Please how can obtain the desidered result ?

How to define the number of tab displayed in Tab page group

Hello,
I have an application with Tab Page group with 8 tabs and the browser is displaying only 5 of thems. I have to scroll to display the remaining 3 although I have enough spaces on the screen to displayed all of them.
Do you know what parameter/setup I need to change to display all of them at once ?

Could someone help me out with this issue?

Tabstrip Controls on Selection Screens
As with screens, you can now use tabstrip controls on selection screens. To do this, you must define a tabstrip area and the associated tab pages, and assign a subscreen to the tab pages. You do not have to (indeed, cannot) declare the tabstrip control or program the screen flow logic in your ABAP program, since both are automatically generated.
To define a tabstrip area with tab pages, use the following statements in your selection screen definition:

For each tab title, the system automatically creates a character field in the ABAP program with the same name. Before the selection screen is displayed, you can assign a text to the field. This then appears as the title of the corresponding tab page on the selection screen.
You must assign a subscreen to each tab title. This will be displayed in the tab area when the user chooses that title. You can assign one of the following as a subscreen:
A subscreen screen defined using the Screen Painter.
A selection screen subscreen, defined in an ABAP program.
You can make the assignment either statically in the program or dynamically at runtime. If, at runtime, one of the tab titles has no subscreen assigned, a runtime error occurs.
Static assignment
Use the DEFAULT addition when you define the tab title. You can specify an ABAP program and one of its subscreens. If you do not specify a program, the system looks for the subscreen in the current program. When the user chooses the tab title, it is activated, and the subscreen is assigned to the tabstrip area. The static assignment is valid for the entire duration of the program, but can be overwritten dynamically before the selection screen is displayed.
Dynamic assignment
For each tab area, the system automatically creates a structure in the ABAP program with the same name. This structure has three components PROG, DYNNR, and ACTIVETAB. When you assign the subscreens statically, the structure contains the name of the ABAP program containing the subscreen, the number of the subscreen, and the name of the tab title currently active on the selection screen (and to which these values are assigned). The default active tab page is the first page. You can assign values to the fields of the structure before the selection screen is displayed, and so set a subscreen dynamically.
If you assign a normal subscreen screen to a tab title, the dialog modules containing its flow logic must be defined in the current ABAP program. If the subscreen is a selection screen, user actions will trigger the AT SELECTION-SCREEN event and its variants (see Selection Screen Processing). This includes when the user chooses a tab title. If one selection screen is included on another, AT SELECTION-SCREEN will be triggered at least twice firstly for the "included" selection screen, then for the selection screen on which it appears.

This program defines two selection screens 100 and 200, as subscreens, and places a tabstrip control area with three tab pages on the standard selection screen. A subscreen screen 300 (from the same program) is assigned statically to the third tab page.

The input/output fields P1 to Q3 are defined by using the parameters from the ABAP program The pushbutton has the function code TOGGLE.
The screen flow logic for screen 300 is as follows:

User actions on the selection screen are processed in the AT SELECTION-SCREEN event block. In particular, it is here that the subscreens are assigned and tab titles activated when the user chooses one of the first two tab titles. This is not necessary for the third tab title, since the dynamic assignment (screen 300) is always placed in the structure MYTAB when the user chooses it.
Before the subscreen screen is displayed, the PBO module INIT_100 is executed. User actions on the subscreen screen trigger the PAI module. This includes when the user chooses a tab title. After that, the AT SELECTION-SCREEN event is triggered.
Messages in the status line show where an action has been processed.

Tab Pages in WAD

Hi all!
I'm having some problems with Tab Pages Web Item. It only allows me to reference a Analysis Web Item as Subordinate Web Item. It doesn't show any other web item already included on Tab Pages on the combo box to do the selection. I need to reference a Container because there are several items to be displayed on each tab.
Is it a bug?(WAD 7.10, support package 3, revision 387).
Or may be a missing setting...

Sorry but you are incorrect. You can have as many objects on a single tab page as you like although you have to group items into a container and reference the container as a subordinate item.
I am on the latest patch for GUI6.40 BI frontend (patch 16). My issue is I cannot add ANY subordinate items to a tab page. Nor will the tab page pick up the caption I have added. It just displays ??. Is this a(nother) bug in the BI7 tools?

Tabbed pages

I'm building an application with tabbed pages. In my constructor, I call a function that return a Panel. In that function I add buttons, textfields etc...
Now, I don't know how I can refer to the fields on this panel on the tabbed pages. See code snippet below...I hope somebody can help me...thank you

A JPanel is extended from Component. A JTabbed Pane can receive anything that is derived from a Component. So you just add your panel to the JTabbedPane.
