Capable of moving photos with Bluetooth?

Moving photos taken from the onboard camera to my laptop via bluetooth is one of my primary actions on a cell phone. I hope I'm overlooking this feature. Anyone figure this out? If its missing I sure hope a software update can add it sooner than later.
iPhone

Nope not possible. iPhone only supports headset and handsfree bluetooth profiles.

Probably not as such apps generally must be loaded onto both phones. Send the photos by MMS or email. No apps required.

  • Moving Photos with iPhoto

After uploading photos to iPhoto is there a way to move the photos within the Event?

You can use the various options under the View -> Sort photos menu. But you cannot manually sort in an Event. Events are automatic organisation. If you want to manually arrange the photos, make an Album - they're a lot more flexible.

  • Print photos with date stamp on them with a HP 6600

Does anyone know if the HP6600 printer is capable of printing photos with the date stamp on them?

    Hello @Joseph_TX ,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand that you want to know if a way to configure the HP ePrint.
    I would like to help.
Unfortunately there is no way to reconfigure the ePrint.
When you send an email to the printers ePrint address, it will print the body of the email and any attachments.
It will not print the subject line or who the email is from.
Also the ePrint feature will not resize pictures sent.
What you send is what you get.
You can get more control over ePrint with the ePrint app, but I don't believe that will suit your needs.

  • I recently purchased a car stereo with Bluetooth capability. I paired my iPhone 4S with it and it wasn't working properly. I went into forget this device. Then found out it was something they did when they installed it. Now it won't pair again. Help

I recently purchased a new car stereo with Bluetooth capability. I paired my phone with the stereo and it wasn't working correctly, did forget this device. Found out it was a problem with the radio. Now it's fixed and my phone won't pair with it again. How can I pair it again?

You will need to put the car stereo back into discovery/pairing mode. That may mean you removing the initial pairing of the device. See the user guide for the radio on how to put the device into discovery/pairing mode, and if necessary, how to remove the original pairing. • Can no longer print selected iPhoto photo with HP printer

iPhoto 09. Cannot print selected iPhoto photo with HP printer. I select the photo from iPhoto Library, go to File>print. The screen for Print comes up with another one on top of it that is blank but with text "Print...Processing 1..OK".  Clicking OK prints from that screen "Print, Processing page 1" (on correct 3x6 photo paper in black!).
I have run Apple Software Update. Run Permissions with problems (one: "Permissions differ on Library/Printers/h...". Have reinstalled iPhoto which has left one icon on Dock and 3 on desktop: iPhoto 07-27-19.app; iPhoto.app; iPhoto Library that I don't know what to do with with them, so just use the one on the dock which opens iPhoto Library.
Believe I read that after reinstalling iPhoto, a plug-in (possibly third party plug-in for HP?) must be installed. I have updated my HP printer to latest driver.
Would you advise how I can print photos in my iPhoto Library again, and also get those iPhoto icons off my desktop which only confuse me.  Thank you for your prompt attention.

Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

  • How do I free up space on my C drive by moving photos to a separate hard drive on the same pc?

    I need to free up space on my C Drive by moving photos to Seagate expansion (H) drive. Currently use Windows Vista and elements 11 where I have organiser containing folders and albums which I want to keep intact after the move. Photos are currently held in C:users, valued customer, pictures. I’m pretty ignorant on how to do this but have tried to read and follow the FAQs and previous advice and think I have some understanding(!) I have made a catalog back up onto a separate Seagate expansion drive (F) and although the files appear to have been renamed as ‘B0000001’ for example, I believe this is normal and I can also see a backup.tly and a catalog.buc file so I’m assuming the backup was successful. I think I need to take the following steps;
    1. drag and drop the folders containing my photos from the C drive into the (H) drive. (Does this have to be completed one folder at a time or can they all be highlighted and dragged and dropped in the same action)?
    2. As I’m not changing computer then I’m assuming I don’t need to restore the catalog?
    3. At this point I won’t have deleted anything off the C drive so how do I ensure the catalog establishes links with the photos that are now on the (H) drive if they’re still on the C drive?

Yes, the renaming is normal and the fact you can see a backup.tly file is good. However, even if you are 99% sure that the backup is ok, the only way to be 100% sure would be to restore somewhere else... (being somewhat paranoid!)
    I think I need to take the following steps;
    1. drag and drop the folders containing my photos from the C drive into the (H) drive. (Does this have to be completed one folder at a time or can they all be highlighted and dragged and dropped in the same action)?
Dragging a master folder also drags its subfolders, no problem.
    2. As I’m not changing computer then I’m assuming I don’t need to restore the catalog?
No, no need to do that. When you move (by drag and drop or the move menu) the organizer automatically updates the catalog.
    3. At this point I won’t have deleted anything off the C drive so how do I ensure the catalog establishes links with the photos that are now on the (H) drive if they’re still on the C drive?
The drag and drop procedure really moves, that is to say : copies the files to the new location AND deletes the files in the old location. Note that if there is a problem in the file transfer, the original files won't be deleted. The transfer of big libraries can require several hours. That happened to me with a power outage at 95% of the process. The files already copied stayed on the new computer, the original files were not deleted and the database of the catalog rolled back to the initial situation as if I had done nothing. So dragging and dropping is safe, at least on recent PSE versions.
    4. Once I know the photos are safely on the (H) drive and all links to the catalog have been established I’ll take a new backup of the catalog onto the separate Seagate expansion drive (F)
    5. Do I need to take a separate backup of the photos which are now on the (H) drive?

    Thanks.
If you take a new backup, it will include all the files recorded in the catalog. If you still have pictures on your C: drive, and possibly others on other external drives, everything will be backed up. You can't specify a backup for images in a given disk, only for all images in a catalog. For instance, you can move only a part of your images on your C: drive. You can add pictures in the drive you want, C: or H:

  • Using iPad 2 photos and have not found key to organizing or moving photos  from one album to another existing album

With ipad2 I have been almost successful in moving photos from the stream or roll to separate albums. It takes the commands but does not allow last step. What am I missing?

If you are wanting to copy photos from your computer to the iPad then you need to select all the folders that you want to copy together in one go - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are removed by not including them in the next photo sync, so on each photo sync you need to select all the photos that you want to remain on the iPad. So you will only do one photo sync to copy them.
So when you connect the iPad to your computer and select it on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes, on the right-hand side on the Photos tab you need to select the parent folder under each those 100 folders are directly under - each of those 100 folders will then get their own album on the iPad. The folder to album relationship only works to 1 level i.e. if those folders have sub-folders in them then their photos will go into the parent's album on the iPad

  • ?s about restoring library, recovered 800+ photos with File Salvage

I made two errors that caused me to lose the photos I'd imported to my new internal hard drive. I was determined to start off right and stick to good rules of organization I've learned on this forum. The errors were that I deselected in advance preferences to have iPhoto import the original (thanks again Old Toad, for solving that mystery for me) AND then I emptied the trash and of course the originals got dumped. OT pointed me to File Salvage and I decided to pony up with the purchase. Last night I pulled out huge groups of jpegs onto my external hard drive.
There seemed to be no way in File Salvage to focus only on the jpegs in the already emptied trash. I think it was showing me all jpegs on my computer. I started finding a photo I wanted, hitting restore and then looking for my next photo. I quickly realized that each photo was then appearing on my ex HD in two layers of folders and each was called jpeg 1. There is no way I wanted to open all those individual folders to get to each photo. There is no apparent way to select some of the photos as you preview them in File Salvage to do a mass export of only the ones you selected. I decided I'd rather transfer huge bunches of them and use Preview to cull out all the backgrounds, and tons unwanted jpegs. This would not be an acceptable solution if I didn't have a brand new HD. I cannot imagine wading through years' worth of jpegs or larger libraries.
Now I have a few photos of hundreds of images. I have a few questions about when I get ready to re-import to iPhoto:
Is there anyway to reunite the photos with the PICT title assigned to it when taken? I want them to show the time and date they were taken too. I don't know how I'll sort them back into rolls without that aid. Right now they are a completely jumbled mess sorted by size so I could rule out the thousands of jpegs in the small KB size and zero in on the 1-4 MB size my camera produces. (Strangely I found a few in the 18-20 MB size???)
I will be putting the originals into folders to regroup them with the subjects or events they were taken from but that still leaves me hundreds of photos in each category in some cases. I'm so used to using iPhoto to sort by name, title, date and I don't know if all that gets masked with the recovery and makes it look like all these photos were taken on the same day.
I still have my thumbnail aliases neatly organized in iPhoto from when I thought I imported all the missing photos. When I reimport do I get more thumbnails? Should I empty my iPhoto library completely before I bring the originals in? Remember that I'm working with a brand new HD and these mistakes affected everything I have in iPhoto. Right now iPhoto only contains the thumbnails, metadata information, and the modified photos that were rotated in my camera.
I'm looking at hours of tedious work to restore my photos and any suggestions that will streamline my efforts would be welcome.

    MacLoyal:
I know of two ways you can rename them, temporarily, sequentially so you can get them into a single or a few folders.
1 - create a "container" folder and put all of the other folders into it.
2 - download and launch the iView MediaPro demo.
3 - in the new catalog window drag the "container" folder.
All of the files will be imported into the catalog. You can check to see if the capture date in the files has been preserved by selecting a photo and clicking on the Info button at the top. Then in the Photo EXIF section you can see if the capture date is intact. If so then you can sort on the capture date to get them in chronological order. (If needed click on the house button in the tool bar to see all photos in the catalog).
Now select all and go to the Action->Batch Rename menu item. There select Date and the number from 1. In the #### field put in 3. That will make the last part of the file name -001.jpg, -002.jpg, etc. so they will list correctly in the finder. The old and new names will show in the bottom like this. If you have more than 999 files to rename make that #### field = 4.
Once they have been renamed you can group them as desired and select and drag them to new folders on the desktop that you've created for that purpose. Of drag directly into an open iPhoto window to create a roll of those particular images. To indicate which ones you've moved hit the 1,2 ...9 keys to assign a color label to them after moving.
The other way is, after putting all of those folders into a container folder, open the container and type Command-F. Then in the Search window select the following criteria:
    File type = image
File size is greater than 100 KB
That will find all of the full sized image within all of those folders. Do a select all and drag into an open iPhoto window. The files will be copied and will be titled jpg 1.jpg, jpg 1_2.jpg, jpg 1_3.jpg, etc.
You can then do your arranging however you want, batch change the title, sort by date if the the capture date is still there. If you want to physically rename the files you'll have to export them to the desktop using the Use Title option. Then reimport to the library and delete the first set.

  • Moving photos between projects

I'm having a problem - erratically - moving photos from one project to another. When I select one photo & drag it to a different project - the entire project gets moved instead of just the one selected photo. (I've double checked that there are no photos selected before I select the photo that I want to move.)
If I cancel the move, I end up with missing thumbnails & sometimes missing photos.
This is erratic because sometimes dragging one photo to another project works.

It is really hard to tell what might be happening - we need more details:
What is your Aperture version? The most recent Aperture 3.4.1?
Are your images referenced or managed? Raw or jpegs?
How did you edit them? With Aperture or an external editor?
Do you create new versions when editing and stack them, or edit the current version?
And after moving to a new project, the preview of the version shows the original master, but the thumbnail shows the original edits? Is that correct?
I Suspect, when you moved the images, they lost their previews. As a test, duplicate an image version (Photo > Duplicate Version) and force the generation of a new preview (Ctrl-click, hold down the options key ⌥, select "Generate Preview"). Does that bring back the edits? Also you could try to export the image version ans see, if the edits are still there.

  • Moving photos w/tags from XPpc to Vista pc using the free starter edition

I have a pc with XP (SP2) with Album 2.0 on which I have a few hundred photos organized with tags and some editing .... many hours of "tagging" invested by me. I just bought a new pc with Vista Home Premium. All I really want to do is be able to import all the exising photos WITH their tags, do very rudimentary editing - primarily redeye reduction, a bit of contrast change occasionally - and be able to add new photos, locate, view, print (home or photo kiosks) and send via email my photos (Outlook 2007) to others. I do NOT want to have spend hours re-tagging all my existing photos if I don't have to do so. From perusing your forum(s) it seems that may be a very complicated procedure for a non-expert user (e.g. I don't know anything about "Access" and don't want to take time to learn).
If I can do what I want (import existing photos into the free starter program (3.2?)) and continue to use that program for redeye reduction and email as well as organize using tags - that would be great. BUT - seems very complicated to me. Perhaps I should use some other free program that will be supported for a long time, like Picassa, and bite the bullet of spending many hours "re-tagging and perhaps re-editing?? It's always a guess as to how long progrmas will be supported, and both Google and Adobe appear as though they'll be around. But any advice will be welcome. I wouldn't be considering Starter except I'm used to to Album 2.0, and have all those hundreds of photos already "tagged" and used redeye reduction on many of them (and don't know whether Picassa or any other program would recognize the exisiting tags and/or the redeye reduction and other editing I did).
Thanks for any help - hopefully in as non-techie language as possible.
    Steve

Well I am reading the progress on your situation, trying to pick up some info. While I do not use the Elements starter edition, it has pretty much the same issues with transfereing catalogs from one machine to another and/or migrating from XP to Vista, as the other versions of Elements have.
I have been going through the gyrations of moving V4 on an XP machine to V6 on a Vista machine.
As suggested in other forums, I finally went to a two step process. First I added V6 to the XP machine that has the properly operating V4 on it. I did the conversion process to migrate the catalog to the V6 program. Yeah it does convert, but half the photos ( thousands) are disconnected. Reconnecting one and then doing a reconnect all does not work as suggested by others. Reconnecting all manually just aint going to happen.
I have tried the external hard drive thing and moved the catalog to the Vista machine but the results are the same.
While I am not an expert software person, I do have enough experience to know where the problem lies. It lies directly with Adobe and they have dropped the ball and put a seriously defective product on the market and so far have not fessed up the their responsibility.

  • Should my iPhone 1 (iOS 3.1.3) with Bluetooth 2.0 (Handset HSP?) work with wireless earbuds with BT 4.0 and the Headset (and Handsfree, A2DP, AVRCP) protocol? They pair and connect; status bar looks good. But audio always comes out the speaker. Thx.

Should my iPhone 1 (iOS 3.1.3) with Bluetooth 2.0 (Handset HSP?) work with wireless earbuds with BT 4.0 and the Headset (and Handsfree, A2DP, AVRCP) protocol? They pair and connect as expected (with a PIN); status bar looks good and shows Bluetooth active, and I even see the iPhone displays the battery levels of the wireless earbuds. But audio always comes out the speaker. (If I plug in wired headphones into the headphone jack then audio comes into the wired headphones, as expected.) I have rebooted the iPhone; I have had it forget about the wireless earbuds, and repaired and reconnected; I have reset all network settings. Thx in advance.
PS: I understand that more recent versions of iOS have a way to choose where audio output goes (speaker, headphone jack, Bluetooth device). Does this older version of iOS? I could not find an option or setting.

I've noticed this lately as well, with my iPhone 4. I couldn't confidently pin it directly on any particular iOS update, but my iPhone used to automatically connect up via Bluetooth with my Prius's handsfree feature, and now it doesn't. I work with a CE-based device at my job, with Bluetooth capability, and I used to test out that feature by having it discover my iPhone. This no longer works either.
What I have found (not really a solution, but it does work and may be a clue for Apple) is that if I simply go to the Settings app then the General -> Bluetooth screen and let it sit there, it will pair right up with my car within a few seconds. Bluetooth is always on, and always says "Now Discoverable" at the bottom of the settings screen.
