Capacitive sensors are backwards

Not sure if I am dyslexic or what. The capacitive buttons on my display seem to be backwards. If I touch the right button, the brightness bar moves to the left. If I touch the left button the brightness moves to the right.
It's very confusing. Un-Applelike. I have the hardest time figuring out which button to press.
I guess I should explain that my 23 inch display is rotated at 270˚. That means the buttons are on the top right. Try it yourself, you'll see what I mean.

funny you bring this up. my 1520 is seemingly the same as well.
noticed that I could see the light where the buttons are located through the back of the red case in the dark last night.
I cannot see that there is anything we can do about it, and am not sure what or why it has even come up.

  • HP Photosmart 2610 All in One Printer Paper feeds OK but the software and sensors are a problem

HP Photosmart 2610 All in One Printer   Paper feeds OK but the software and sensors are not allowing paper to feed until several steps are taken first.
(I am using Windows 7.  I also use the virtual XP mode and mostly MS Office 2003 docs).
I have had this printer for several years and love it.  Before I toss it out, I thought I would check if I could get it to work properly before I buy another printer.  Note: I did put in a new HP black cartridge (because it was out of ink) but the printer was not working properly for several days before I changed the cartridge. The printer was at step 5 before ink change.
Lately, each time I turn on my printer, I have to go through the same routine
    1. The printer wants to align the cartridges so I push OK
    2. The paper feeds into the printer and stops at the exact place to start printing.
    3. Error message appears that it is out of paper.  So I press OK to continue.
    4. It says "aligning print cartridges" runs through 2 sheets of blank paper without trying to do anything and then states "cartridge alignment failed"  "Press OK to continue"
    5. Screen is now normal and it appears it is going to work.
    6. It makes no difference if I used the copy function OR when I send a print job from the computer, the paper feeds into the printer and stops at the exact place to start printing but nothing happens.
    7. Error message appears that it is out of paper. OR that it is the wrong size paper.  I pull the paper that was at the proper place to be printed from the printer and then the error message says "Paper jam.  Press OK to continue"
    8.  I press OK.  The printer will then quickly feed in and eject 2 sheets of paper before it will actually start printing the print job.  It will work fine after this as long as I print from the same document.
    9. If I want to print a different document then I have to start all over again at step 6 to get the printer to work.  If I shut the printer off I have to go back to step 1.
    What I have already tried
    A.  Uninstalled and reinstalled the printer driver direct from HP web site.  I have done this several times with both the basic driver download and the complete package download.
    B.  I have done a partial reset by unplugging the printer, and then re-plugging the printer while pushing the  "# and 3" buttons while turning on the printer.  I have done this several times.  Each time it will work fine until I try a different document of turn off the printer.
    C. I have downloaded the HP Print and Scan Doctor and used it several times.  It states that "everything checks out OK"
    D. I have downloaded the HP Hardware Diagnostic Utility 4.0 but it does not work with my printer.
    E.  I have cleaned all the rollers and blown air throughout to make sure there were no bits of junk in the paper's path or blocking a sensor.
    F.  I have tried different brands and weights of paper (all 8½  x 11) but nothing works.
Most of the problems started when I added the printer to the virtual machine so I could print XP files.  This may just be a coincidence because the printer has the same problems when I use the copy function without the computer being on.
Thanks for looking at my issues.  Any help would certainly be appreciated.

I just tried using Notepad as you suggested and had the same result.  Paper feeds in stops at proper place and error message "out of paper"
I just put in two new HP ink cartridges because the other two were low and I was told that this might be the problem.
I seem to remember that the HP 2610 shows 2 "ink icons" in the lower left corner.  One for black and one for color.  The ink icons would change from completly full to just an outline as the amount of ink went down.  Currently the black ink icon is missing
This is a very frustrating problem because the printer works great after doing a few steps to get around the problem.  The fact that the problem reoccurs any time anything is changed is the major problem
Most of the problems started when I added the printer to the Windows 7 virtual machine so I could work with Windows XP programs.  This may just be a coincidence because the printer still has the same problems when I use the copy function without the computer even being on.
I want to thank you for all of your efforts.  Perhaps this is a unique problem that will never be solved and it is best to take my losses and buy a new printer.  As a last chance, if possible, could you refer my post to someone who is an expert with the HP 2610 printer.

  • Im having trouble with my Messages. The keypad sensors are going haywire. The other apps like FbMessenger are ok. What should i do?

The keypad sensors are going haywire. Only Messages has this problem. The other apps with messaging like FB messenger are functioning well.
And its not just with typing; even with scrolling up or down, the sensors wont cooperate. Pfft.

    venicespent,
Boot into your Mavericks Recovery partition by hold down the command and R keys whilst booting. You'll see a screen that looks like this:
Click on the Disk Utility item to open Disk Utility. You should see your boot drive (usually named "Macintosh HD" unless you've changed it) in the column on the left of the screen. Select your boot partition and click on the "Verify" button. Let your Mac do it's thing - if you get green text telling you that everything seems to be OK, then your disk should not be damaged. If, however, you get red text telling you that the disk needs to be repaired, click on the "Repair" button. If the disk can be repaired, you should be good to go. If the disk cannot be repaired then the drive is damaged.
But before you do anything, make certain that you have backups!!!

  • Dates Imported Are Backwards

I imported a home movie and was getting ready to burn it but the dates are backwards so if you watch the DVD, it starts from the last day and ends up with the first day.
Is there an easy way to reverse this?

be careful in the order that's imported. that's it.

  • My blackbook's temperature-sensores are gone?!

i got a blackbook .. the 2nd mainboar, and a new heatsink .. since then, my random shutdown is gone .. lucky me.
but now .. suddenly one morning .. it seems that the CPU-temperature-sensores are gone.
core2temp, istat isn't longer displaying the temperature .. temperaturmonitor is telling me: cpu1, cpu2 - the sensores aren't connected. but the HD-sensore is displaying the temperature.
    what's going on???

    hey kjk!
yes i uninstalled/reinstalled several times .. i got two other apps/widgets which don't display the temp anymore too .. core2temp and istatpro .. i uninstalled/reinstalled these too .. i also repaired permissons and reset pram .. no effect!
perhaps my service-point damaged something? because of opening my book several times to chance the mainboard and later to chance the heatsink?
next week i get a new bottom-case for my blackbook .. because the service-point have scratched it when they opened my blackbook .. i hope they haven't damaged more than this!!
i am frustrated .. first the internal HD was damaged, i got a new one .. then random shutdown, i got a new mainboard, no effect, so i got a new heatsink .. damaged the bottom-case, so i'll get a new one .. and now this. i got my blackbook now for 4 months .. 1 month out of this 4 it was in repair.

  • Pages for iPod Touch--documents are backwards!

Is there a place I can leave feedback about Pages for iPod Touch to Apple? I've had a very bizarre bug pop up...
I've been creating docs on my iPod and then (attempting) to upload them to my computer via Dropbox. I've had a heck of a time getting docs across formats as it is... but last night, after transferring a doc in .docx format, when I accessed the file on my computer, the format ended up backwards! The "ruler" at the top of page measured right to left instead of left to right. Also, the justification was to the right instead of the left. And the weirdest thing... the punctuation marks at the end of paragraphs ended up at the beginning of the line, like this:
.The lazy brown dog chased the fox
    !Crazy
    ?Does it make sense
It didn't matter which app I used to open the doc with on my computer, the format was still messed up. So I know it was Pages that was the problem. The only way I could fix the problem was by selecting "normal" in the preset styles in the various writing apps.
I currently don't have Pages on my computer--the computer and OS are too old for me to use it. (Mac Mini duo core with 10.6.)

You can contact Apple here. http://www.apple.com/feedback/pages_ios.html
There may be a bug update soon though!

  • File type and creator are backwards

Acrobat 8 running on Intel based mac running OSX 10.4.11.
I have Acrobat using watched folders, but the pdfs it creates have the file name and creator backwards, 'FDP' and 'ORAC'. This doesnt happen all the time, it seems to be different depending on the filename. Names beginning with P will usually be wrong, names beginning with numbers will usually be right.
I found something here that may be the reason for it:
    http://lists.apple.com/archives/applescript-users/2006/Oct/msg00433.html
Be interested if anyone else has found a solution for this as these pdfs copy onto our archive system, but it hasnt got a clue what to do with them as it doesnt know what they are.
    Cheers.

    Hi jackminar,
I've tried searching for those files on my computer without any luck.  Is there a way for you to contact your contractor in order to see if he originally sent them?  Has your program ever worked upon getting it from your contractor?

  • SuperDrives are backwards (Early-2009 Mac Pro)

    Greetings:
I have two SuperDrives installed in my Early-2009 Mac Pro. When I hit the eject button the bottom tray comes out, option + eject brings out the top tray. When I burn things in Disk Utility the OS refers to the physically located bottom drive as "Upper SuperDrive".
I know it's not a huge issue, but I'm wondering if its an easy fix?
I popped the side panel off and checked the SATA/Power connections. Since that cable is pretty tightly wrapped the connectors can only go in one way (the little extended one has to go on the bottom drive).
So I figured the coonnectors on the motherboard are probably backwards.
Are they easy to get to? Or is this a huge pain and not worth it?
    Thanks!
    - D

It does. Initially I thought I could reverse them, but they're so tightly bundled that they won't reach that way.

  • Capacitive keys are brighter than normal after Den...

I have seen this issue posted several times on the WPC forums. Is there any solution.
Below is a copy and paste from their fourms.
Hey fellas. Just received the Long awaited denim update, with the flagship perks of course. But there something else im noticing. The capacitive keys at the bottom are much brighter than before denim. Now it maybe something in my eyes, or I just never noticed how bright they were...but I'm sure that before denim, the lights weren't that noticeable.Which is pretty distracting to be honest, cuz it doesn't help you to focus well on the screen. Anyone else feeling this? Any solution?
My ATT 1520 has this issue.

funny you bring this up. my 1520 is seemingly the same as well.
noticed that I could see the light where the buttons are located through the back of the red case in the dark last night.
I cannot see that there is anything we can do about it, and am not sure what or why it has even come up.

  • Index entries are backwards

I am working on RoboHTML 7.0 with a project generated as
FlashHelp. In the generated FlashHelp project, when I type a
keyword into the Index "Type in the Keyword to find" box, it
    appears backwards.
For example, if I type in the word Data, it appears as
    "ataD."
    -OR-
Sometimes I type in the "D" (for Data) and it appears in the
text box, but when I type in the "a", it deletes the "D" and
displays the list of "a" words. Then when I type in the "t" it
deletes the "a" and goes to the "t" words.
Either way, it never works correctly. This is so weird. Any
help you can give me will be most appreciated!
    Thanks!
    pat

Would that be affected by the language setting in File |
    Project Settings?
Is it only happening in RH? I know Word has RTL support,
don't recall seeing anything similar in RH, but then again I've
    never looked for it. :)

  • Illustrator Guides Are Backwards

    Hi
I am trying to export my first font from Illustrator (CS6) into Font Lab but when I set the base line to 0 the ascender shows -750 and the descender shows 248, these should be the other way around and it is effecting my letters when I copy and paste to Font Lab.
I have opened up different illustrator files and they are all the same, the negative 'y' axis numbers go from 0 towards the top of the page and the positive 'y' axis numbers towards the bottom, can someone please tell me how to change them so they are the correct way around as I can't find anything to help me online.
    Cheers :-)

See if THIS OLDER THREAD is any help to you. I am not sure what Illustraator versions that script will work with.
If that won't work for you, try searching (Google works better than the search here) on "Illustrator Ruler Origin"

  • ITouch Playlist are Backwards

I upgraded my iPod Touch to the iOS5, and while I love all the enhancements, there seems to be one small glitch (at least for me)
My playlists that are aranged by date added are always aranged with the oldest song first. This is not how they used to be displayed nor are they sorted in this order on my computer, I prefer them to be sorted with newest first.
I have tried exporting the plalist, deleting it, re-importing it, switching the sort order on my computer, getting rid of all the songs on my iPod, putting them all back in, and I've clicked the "Copy to play order" option many times but nothing has helped.
Does anyone have this problem or a solution to it?

I'm not sure if my answer is right but I think only playlists from iTunes get synced to your iPod. So if you deleted these on your iTunes this may be the reason they are not on your iPod. To re-create them just select the new playlist option (or smart playlist I think it is) and choose the correct settings.

  • Qosmio F55 - Replaced LCD and brightness controls are backwards reversed

    Hi,
the LCD for my Qosmio F55-Q502 cracked and I ordered the same part and when I installed it, everything works nice and all but the brightness up and down are reversed. Like Fn+F6 makes it brighter while Fn+F7 makes it darker? The original that came with it was a lp154wp1 (tl) (e1) but one I got is a lp154wp1 (tl) d1).
Does anyone think that bit of a variation of the model can make it reverse the controls? Even on Windows when you slider the brighness to the right it will dim and to the left it brightens. Also for anyone else that needs info on their Qosmio F55, the original is a lp154wp1 (tl) (e1) and its also known as lp154wp1 (tl) (a3) that is written on the lcd board. The replacement lp154wp1 (tl) (d1) is also known as a lp154wp1 (tl) (a2) also written on the lcd board
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated!

    Hi hulkster,
Where you have ordered the new display and is it an original Toshiba spare part?
If yes I would contact an authorized service provider or the shop where you purchased it. In my opinion the screen is not 100% compatible to your model. This would also explain the different part numbers that you posted
