<p>I would like to know, especially for Planning module, whetherthere is a capacity planning document on disk space allocationdepending on number of users. For example, for 100 users to useplanning module, how much disk space is requred?</p><p> </p><p>Thanks,</p><p>SP</p>

The document does not really give figures but more, the way you should plan to estimate your capacity - as such, the document is relevant for 10g as well as 6i

  • Capacity Planning Guide for OAS 9i

    Hi all,
I really want to know about is :
"How much server/cpu/memory do I need to support n
    number of users?"
So I can decide specification of server that I needed.
I've read technical white paper about 'Oracle
Developer Server 6.0 - A Capacity Planning Guide'
    March 1999 and,
'Scalable Web Deployment with Oracle Developer Server

Is there other twp like that for OAS 9i ?

    Hello,
I just read the following document: Forms services 6i - Capacity Planning Guide.
I have the following question: Are these figures still valid for Forms services 10g?
Is there any newer documentation available?

  • Capacity Planning for Azure Managed Cache Service Spreadsheet Missing

I'm currently choosing between dedicated in-role caching and the azure managed cache service. It seems pretty clear that for in-role caching one must consider the cache access frequency when choosing the in-role cache size (as demonstrated by the capacity
planning spreadsheet found here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh914129.aspx although the documentation states "Your application
is the only consumer of the cache. There are no predefined quotas or throttling. Physical capacity (memory and other physical resources) is the only limiting factor.")
It is less clear if this is also the case for the azure managed cache service since the documentation simply states:
“Now, there are no predefined quotas on bandwidth and connections. Physical capacity is the only limiting
factor and you only pay based upon the cache size. You can now focus solely on your application and its data needs.”
and the capacity planning guide spreadsheet found here:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn386139.aspx
does not lead the actual spreadsheet.
Is there some way to get the capacity planning guide spreadsheet for the azure managed cache service? If not, can someone tell me whether we need to consider cache access frequency (and not just size) when choosing the azure managed cache service?
    Thanks!

Just kidding, I found the planning spreadsheets here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30000
That said, I'm still unsure of whether the data read/write frequency (bandwidth) is relevant in choosing capacity:
    In role:
    "Your
application is the only consumer of the cache. There are no predefined quotas or throttling. Physical capacity (memory and other physical resources) is the only limiting factor."
    Managed:
    “Now,
there are no predefined quotas on bandwidth and connections. Physical capacity is the only limiting factor and you only pay based upon the cache size. You can now focus solely on your application and its data needs.”
I'm confused because when using the caching capacity planner spreadsheet,
when the number reads/second is increased, a greater cache size is recommended. But why would I need a larger cache size if the same object is being read by multiple users and there is not limit on bandwidth?

  • OAG Capacity Planning

    Hi,
Please help me to clarify on how to properly plan the capacity for an OAG deployment. I’m taking as base OAG documentation:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E55956_01/doc.11123/administrator_guide/content/admin_planning.html#p_admin_planning_ha
formula described there helps to get the number of Gateways
    numberOfGateways = (ceiling (requiredThroughput x factorOfSafety / testedPerformance) x HA) x (1 + numDR) + staging + eng))
I’m assuming each gateway is deployed in machines with following prerequisites, as described in documentation
Intel Core or AMD Opteron at 2Ghz with Dual Core or faster—i386 or x86_64 (32-bit or 64-bit)
Minimum 2 GB free disk space, 50 GB recommended
    Minimum 4 GB physical memory
In the case requiredThroughput has significant increments, I think we should deploy additional Gateways, please help us to clarify
    Questions are:
In order to properly scale OAG deployment, its just required to deploy new Gateways (in additional machines with above characteristics)?
Increasing physical memory or adding more CPU threads has any positive impact in performance?
    Please advise.
    Regards
    Juan

Hope you are asking regarding the Manufacturing Capacity Planning.
Oracle Capacity functionality is part of the Manufacturing module license.
Oracle Capacity lets you calculate your Capacity load ratio by resource or production line.
It ensures that you have sufficient capacity to meet your production requirements.
Oracle capacity provides you with two levels of capacity planning :
Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) to validate your master wschedules
Deetailed Capacity Requirements Planning to validate your MRP plans.
Check the Capacity User Guide available at Appsnet
(http://appsnet.oracle.com -> Manufacturing -> User and Implementation Guides)
    for more details.

  • MS Publisher 2013 - Guide lines on top of images

I am trying to edit a brochure that has a background image and several text and images objects on top.   I am unable to see the guild lines once the background image is added.
This problem has been around since Publisher 2007 (maybe has always been this way), however, most other design software will allow you to see the guide lines as you work.
Are there any plans to add this feature to publisher?
I found a few articles on the subject and the designers are not happy and switching to other software.   So it may not be a bad idea to add what appears to be a simple improvement to retain and attract users.
    Thanks

    Dear ,
To answer the question for Capacity requirement planning on sales order I would say that MRP does  only materials planning based on demand and reciept  but never does Capacity Requirement Plannig .MRP generates Planned Order  and susequently , production order can be genreted and farther you can carry out capacity requirement planning based on the work cente available capacity , requirement and load for those MTO orders .
But there are SAP business suit like APO-SNP APO PPDS which carriy our details scheduleing and caapcity check based on the demand situation : Sales Order ,Independent Order  and does capcaity vaialbality chek for those demands while planning .
Now , here is the answer of your question :
    1) Can Capacities are Scheduled as per priority given in SO automatically. : Not possible  through  SAP MRP but in APO-PPDS, APO-SNP-CTM , Herustic model .
    2) Can revised availability dates will be reflected in SO. : It can be reflected as per the ATP chekc , Replishmenet Lead  Time and re-scheduling horizon maintained in OPPQ-Carry all overall plant parametres.
    3) Which reports will be useful for understanding consolidated availability date of material for given sales order/s. : You can check through MD04/MD05 or in sales order -Availaibility check -Schedule Line -Availaibility date .
Hope your are clear about the requirememt .

  • WAAS Capacity Planning TFO Connection Reporting?

For WAAS Capacity Planning I'm trying to work out a way to gather WAAS appliance and module TFO connection statistics over time for each device. I'm looking to gather the number of TFO connections at regular intervals to allow us to get an accurate picture of the current WAAS capacity utilisation. The central manager reports a "The TFO accelerator is overloaded (connection limit)" when the maximum TFO connection limit for a devices is exceeded but it does not tell you the number of connections that exceeded the limit on the box.
I've tried using the WAAS Monitoring XML API:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/waas/v421/monitoring/guide/MG_XML_API.html
But it does not allow reporting of this statistic as far as I can work out.
If you run "show stat conn" on a WAAS device it gives you the "Current Active Optimized Flows", but this is the current number of flows and not the maximum number of TFO connections reached since the counters were last cleared?
    Current Active Optimized Flows:                                3258
Current Active Optimized TCP Plus Flows:              812
Current Active Optimized TCP Only Flows:              2453
Current Active Optimized TCP Preposition Flows:    0
    Current Active Auto-Discovery Flows:                         411
    Current Reserved Flows:                                           99
    Current Active Pass-Through Flows:                          540
    Historical Flows:                                                      532
Does anyone know anyway of anyway to either manually gather this statistic from a WAAS appliance or module? Or poll this statistic from a monitoring system like Solarwinds?

    Hello
As of WAAS 4.4.1 it comes with a WAN optimization MIB CISCO-WAN-OPTIMIZATION-MIB, if you want to use a 3rd party software like Cacti to graph over time.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/waas/v441/configuration/guide/SNMP.html#wp1141055
This MIB provides information about the status and statistics  associated  with the Application Optimizers. The following objects from  this MIB are  supported:
    •cwoAoStatsIsConfigured
    •cwoAoStatsIsLicensed
    •cwoAoStatsOperationalState
    •cwoAoStatsStartTime
    •cwoAoStatsTotalHandledConn
    •cwoAoStatsTotalOptConn

    •cwoAoStatsTotalDroppedConn
    •cwoAoStatsActiveOptConn
    •cwoAoStatsPendingConn
    •cwoAoStatsMaxActiveOptConn
This MIB also provides information about TFO statistics. The following objects are supported:

    •cwoTFOStatsActiveConn
    •cwoTFOStatsMaxActiveConn

  • Web Dynpro for ABAP Naming Convension & Guide line

    Hi, everyone.
I have a plan to implement Web Application as WDA(Web Dynpro for ABAP). but I don't know how can I give a name to Windows or Views or Custom controllers.
If you have a naming convension or guid line document,
Could you share the document with me? ^^

As Rich said, there are no official naming conventions. Nonetheless, a few things have become quite popular, such as:
    - adding wnd_ in front of window names as they share the same namespace with views
    - adding m_ in front of member variables of controllers
    - adding s_ in front of supply methods and using the name of the node afterwards
    - adding lbl_ in front of labels and using the name of the labelled ui element afterwards like "lbl_customer" and "customer"
Some developers also add certain prefixes to view elements to distinguish between them.
Regarding the names of components, there is one thing that you should not do: Start them with WD_ or WDR_ as both are somehow preserved. The same is true for entities within a component, although there checks in place that prevent you from doing that.
    Best regards,
    Thomas

  • Capacity Plan for Partially Confirmed Order

    Hi Guys
Can any one please guide me on Capacity Planning (CM29) how to:
    1. Plan to plan a partial order. Or in other terms: how to plan a part order in wk1 and rest in wk2
    2. If the process order is partially confirmed, then how should supervisor re-schedule it again for later date!
    3. Ideally what should be followed:
      a. Schedule the Planned Order on CM29 and then Convert them to Process Order , OR
      b. Convert the Planned Order and then Schedule the Process Order on the CM29 screen
    Thanks in advance
    -Rahul

    Hi Mehdi,
Once order status is PCNF you cannot create lot with inspection type as 03. You need to reverse all the confirmations/Goods issue and activate 03 inspection type in material master, maintain MIC related data in routing and do Read Master data. Then system will create inspection lot.
For 03 inspection type manually inspection lot cannot be created. Once order is released inspection lot will be automatically created by system.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • CM27-CAPACITY PLANNING

Im working on a REM environment.
I have a problem in the Capacity Planning
1.Im  using the CM21 for sequencing my planned orders.
2.I have created some individual capacity for one workcentre.
3.When itry to use the CM27 i dont find any planned orders in this levelling capacity planning table.
    Your valuable inputs are required

    Hi Sateesh,
I am unable to understand the reason why capacity planning is being used if REM is being used?
The transactions what you have mentioned is for Production order/Related planned orders.
To my knowledge for REM "MF50" will be used to analyse the load and also assign load to production line. "LAS2" is used for sequencing change.
    Hope this helps..
