Capacity Planning with HR Workcenter ..

Hello Everyone
I have to make a single workcenter, assign 3 HR positions on it and want to analyze all 3 HR positions separately.
Can anyone advise how can i fulful this requirement keeping in view all positions are assigned to single workcenter.
Steps i have already followed are :
1- Make a single workcenter with 006 Category and 3 number of capacities ( Each of 10 hrs) and 3 HR positions. Overall capacity i have mentioned is 30 hours assuming 10 hours per position.
2- Generate capacity requirement by assigment the same workcenter to Project System activites.
Now if i run CM01, system is showing me over all capacity load of a workcenter although i want to see load on individual capacity that is my HR Position.
Your inputs will be hihgly appreciated.

  • Capacity Plan with Oracle 10g

    Good Day to all,
I've little time working in environments with Oracle databases, I have requested to carry out a capacity plan with Oracle Database 10g for a data warehouse project that is leading the company in which they work. I request to make a plan specifying, among other things: size and number of tablespace and datafiles, projection growth taking into account the initial charge and the charge per week (incremental). The truth is a bit complicated for my inexperience in this kind of sizing requirements we will ask for your valuable cooperation. There are mathematical formulas that allow me to take those projections into account the type of data and their lengths? , There is a standard for creating the tablespace and datafiles?.
In advance thank you for your contributions.

The first thing you need to get management to do is give you two things.
    1. The cost to the organization for downtime, rated in dollars/hour.
    2. The service level agreement for the system's customers.
    3. The amount of data to be loaded into the system and the retention time.
    4. What version of RAID or what ASM redundancy is planned.
With that you can start at the grossest level which is planning for database + archived redo logs + online back files.
I generally figure the database, itself, at about 25% of required storage because I like to have at least two full backups, a bunch of incremental backups, plus all of the archived redo logs that support them. And all on separate shelves.
The number of tablespaces and data files is really just a question of maintenance. Ease of transport. Ease of movement. Ease of backing up.
If you want to get down to the actual sizes of tables and indexes the best place to go is the DBMS_SPACE built-in package. Play with these two procedures:
CREATE_TABLE_COST and CREATE_INDEX_COST which do the job far more efficiently and accurately than any formulas you will receive. You can find demos
    of this capability here: http://www.morganslibrary.org/reference/dbms_space.html.

  • Capacity planning with machine time

    Hi there ,
If I have maintained the setup time, Processing time & labour time.
Now supopse I maintaned in the scheduling formula involving only Processing  time then only that value will be used for the same.
Going forward in the costing tab for the work center if I maintain only formula involving labour time ... then only that will be used for calculation .
The same applies for scheduling tab for the work center .....
    Am I correct ??
    Regards
    Kaushik

    Hi Kaushik,
Yes you are right as per the formula of work center and value from routings system will scheduled the order calculate capacity requirement and costing.

  • Capacity planning integration with ERP based on activity types

        Hello Friends,
Please help me in understanding the integration of capacity planning with activity types.
I have done the configuration but i am getting all the values double and giving the wrong roll up.
Please help me how this integration works and how to configure it so that i can get the actual efforts from the SAP ERP.
    Regards,
    Lohith

You can split operation and assign operation ticket to more than one Person (i.e. HR person number) even if they are not linked to one work center.
I don't have system in front of me, but I think it's in Operation details. You can also check individual capacity in table or graph. It was available in ECC 6.0
    Hope this helps-

  • Capacity Planning CM02

    Hi experts,
How to display the capacity planning for a workcenter please tell me the how to select the proper profile.
In reports requirement column is displayling is the same is capacity for that day or there is some other.
    AR

    hi
Work centre capacity can be displayed by cm02
In cm02 enter the work center name then your capacity is displayed
it will show you weekly capcity say 35 week requirment capcity & available capacity
Iwork time ,days ,holidays calculted from systme depending upon the calender you have entered
then requirment is calculated from your planning & avaialble is calculated from Master data of work center

  • Capacity planning for multiple orders

    Hi All,
I am sure this is a common situation but I am struggling to map it so can I get some guidance.
We have a number of work centers where the capacity is based on the area of the part going into it against the shelf space. For example - we use an oven in our manufacturing process. It has 3 shelves with 3 m2 space in total. We would put different sized parts in until it is full. How can I map this capacity constraint in PP??
    Kind regards
    Ben

    Hi,
You can determine the quantity of a material that can be accomodated in the oven with the mentioned space and the amount of time required to process the oven with that quantity. So mention this quantity in routing and do the Capacity planning as with the standard Processing formula in the Work center or use the formula [Formula for furnace|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/b1/c03921439a11d189410000e829fbbd/content.htm]
But, in real time, as we process different types of products, the confirmation qty of that Production order determines the qty processsed. Hence it is not possible to do capacity planning with the combination of different products.
Hope this gives you an idea..

  • Use of Planning Table (MF50) in Capacity Levelling with Production Order

    Hello Experts
I wish to know that is it possible to perform Capacity Levelling in planning table (tcode MF50) with respect to a Production Order ? It is known that MF50 is used in Repetitive manufacuring to do the capacity levelling with respect to Planned orders. But in our discrete manufacturing scenario we want to use planning table to the capacity levelling with respect toa Production order.
Any clue or help pertaining to this will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Jayanta

    Dear ,
MF50 is does the cacapcity leveling based on mateail -run schedule order (planned order ) where as in discrete manufacturing , when you run the MRP ,  MRP system assume Infinite Capacity  and schedule the order as per your selection in MD02(2,1,3,3,2)  and then you convert those planned order to Production order .Here you checkied the Capacity in Production Order level .
In stanadrd SAP  , it is not possible to use MF50 for discrete production order.
In discrete order or process order ,  do the caapcity leveling , there are seperate planning table available based on Over all Capacity Profile and Schedule type .This can be done  in following way :
    1.CM31-Production Order Wise -Tabular
    2.CM23-PO wise -Graphical
    3.MC88: Ruf Cut Planning
    Work Centre Wise : CM21 -Graphical , CM22-Tabular Planning Table .
Make sure the below set up before  you carry on the Capacity leveling :
    .Define time profile in OPD2.
Define the strategy profile in OPDB
Define the Overall profiles in OPD0.
In OPJK  maintained check capacity with SAPSFCG013 profile for your production order type
In OPU3 , scheduleing parametre s: Generate Capacity , Scheduling Type , Automatic Log ,Start date in Past as per your req.
In OPJU , chekc the contol tab of the scheduleing as per OPU3
In OPKP- Production scheduling paranmeters assing the overall capacity profile -SAPSFCG013  with finte scheduling tick.
    Master Data :
1.Materials Master define the Production scheduler and production scheduling profile
2.Work Center - Define the capcity planner group, activate checkbox Relevant for Finite sceduling,on the capacity header define the shift timings, break timings and unit of measure,no of individual capaity, enter formula for scheduling in capacity view.
3.Routing - enter the values for the standard values. Use control key with scheduling.
Hope this will help you .
    Regards

  • Capacity Planning for External Procurement Material

Hi, I have the following requirements.
MRP Scheduling is getting executed material level (material no, plant) with scheduling type 2 which means lead time scheduling using MD02 Transaction Code. This is works fine for the Inhouse Product. In order to achieve lead time the functional team has maintained the necessary routing/workcenter configs.
The business needs the same functionality "Capacity requirements calculation" for the external procurement material. Business is willing to maintain routing/workcenter config.
Currently standard program (MD02) is not considering the Capacity planning for the external Procurement material.
Could you please suggest is it can be controlled through programming.
Kindly suggest the function modules for Capacity Planning - materialwise, plantwise.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks
    Giri

    Hi Giri
I think the requirement is not mentioned clearly. Capacity is required only if the material is assembled/produced in house.
Anyway try this. Set the Procurement type to X in the MRP views in material master. You might have to define your custom material type so that it does not force the procurement type to F. Try the feature called "Quota arrangement". The idea is to define the material in such a way that it can be procured externally or produced in house. With quota arrangement you can say what % has to be bought and what % to be produced in house. If it is produced in house then you can have capacity requirements.

  • Capacity planning at Planned order level

    Dear All,
In my current scenario i'm able to see load of process orders against the workcenter in CM01. My requirement is to do capacity levelling at the planned order level.
I have created Production version also & attached to the planned order. Still in CM01  no load or planned order is shown on workcenter.
when i convert it into process order then it shows load / process order.
pl.let me know how i can do the capacity planning at planned order level.
    Thanx & regards,
    dev

    Hi,
In MD12 when click on Go to > Capacity Levelling >
Error Message : No work centers with capacity requirements were found
I have given formula : SAP006 in capacity & Relevant to finite schedulling indicator is also active.
what may be the cause ?
    thanx & regards,

  • Consider preventive maintenance schedule into PP order capacity planning

    Hi PP experts,
My client's requirement is that when a preventive maintenance order is created in PM module for a particular work center (used in production) on a given date, NO production order (which is processed on that work center) should get released or confirmed. In other words, the capacity should be blocked at all for the subject work center.
Could you please guide how to make this effective?
We are using discrete manufacturing with capacity planning. At the time of PP order release, system shows capacity situation so as to decide whether go-ahead even with overloaded capacity.
    Regards,
    HKV...

First, you should assign the PP work center in the location tab of the PM equipment which refers this workcenter.
Secondly you should enter the sytem condition in the task list of the equipment.
During preventive schedule  the work center  will be reserved by PM orders for maintenance and this can be seen from capacity planning from PP side.
    regards

  • How to consider production capacity plan on sales order's delivery date.

    HI experts,
How to consider production capacity  on sales order's delivery date.
    Say for example :
Production workcenter capacity to produce the XYZ material 10qty in a Day.
today i have created the sales order XYZ materail qty of 100. lead days has give based of MMR 21 days 17-07-2010( 3 sundays)
and in same day i have created other sales order XYZ material qty 5000 ,the lead days again it will came 17-07-2010.
Now my client requiremnt is when the schedule days is confirming in the sale order it sholud also consider the production capacity planning also
Even though my work centers are overloaded it is confirming the sales order on 17-07-2010 (based on leads days in MMR)
    Thanks in Advance..
    Sudha

    Sudha,
Tell your client he needs to install SCM.  Here, you can use either CTP or MLATP to confirm orders based on production capacity.
There are a couple of standard workarounds available in R/3.
One is to create a constrained forecast for planning materials, consistant with capacity, convert the forecast to PIRs, and then perform ATP against 'Planning' rather than against product, using MRP Strategy 63.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/a2/4e799a927d11d1800f00c04fadcb73/frameset.htm
Another method is to leave the Sales orders unconfirmed at original order entry (eg, no lead time).  Run MRP, run capacity levelling, firm the levelled planned orders, and then run BOP (called 'rescheduling' in R/3) against the unconfirmed backlog, with an ATP that considers firmed planned orders as supply elements.  The sales orders will confirm against the planned orders, which are scheduled according to available capacity.
Either of these two methods will work, but the CTP SCM solution is by far the better answer.  Downside of SCM solution in general is the substantial implementation effort required.

  • Capacity Planning Overview

    Hi Friends,
We are facing problem in Capacity levelling and evaluation.
We have make to order scenario in process industry.
We have five material haveing one material characteristic in common that is "Shade".
We execute the MRP and system is generating 5 different plan order.
In the receipe for the above plan order's , there is one resource ( Dyeing Vessels ) common in which all the above plan order will be processed at a single time.
Capacity for this common workcenter ( Dyeing Vessels ) to process all the above material at a time is say 8 Hrs.
But in capacity evaluation/levelling , it show ( 8 Hrs x 5 plan order ) = 40 Hrs. But the actual capacity is just 8 Hrs only.
Is there any way to group all the above capacity at material level ? Or some other solution so that we have capacity utilization of 8 Hrs rather than 40 Hrs.
    Regards ,
    Upendra

    Dear ,
Total available caapcity of any resource or work centre will be basically
Standrad Available caapcity ( End time -break time -start time )  * Capacity Utilisation of the resource (less than 100% or 90-95% based on the work centre periodic usage at the floor )*No of Individul Capacity
As you are in pricess industry , then you must have  resource which is working 24 hrs with Utlisation of 90-100 % with out any  break , then you hav available caapcity of 22-23 hrs  .Or 8 hrs per shift so total 24 hrs .
In that context , you can dispath all the planned order in CM21 based on the available capaty and scheduling .
If the Planned orders are having same master recipe  , then you can check the Overalpping Required functinality in Master Recipe as like Routing in discrete .
Check my posting on this theard : Orders Overlap in capacity levelling

    Please check with following things,
    1. Define Scheduling Parameters for Planned Orders - OPU5
Please check "scheduling " and "Generate capacity req" check box has beeb acitvated under one scheduling level for order type PE/ plant comibination at OPU5.
    2. You must have created workcenter for the production line,
    3. you must enter the workcenter in the prodution version in MRP view.
    4. you must have created any routing with workcenter.
5.you must enter the routing, to the scheduling level (defiend at OPU5) in the production version.
    5. Maintain scheduling data in front screen of the planning table (MF50)
In Planning Table (MF50) Scheduling Tap Select the following
1.Rate based Planning (Detailed planning and sequencing also possible)
2.Tick Capacity planning, which Controls that capacity planning is carried out for the production line in background mode when accessing the run schedule quantities (planning table).
Now enter Production line in MF50, check capacity data. plz try and come back

    Dear Guru,
I have number of machines and i want there individual capacity and efficency can we see that by any report or any tcode to see all capacity of machine. What is capacity leveling.
Is thee any configuration for capacity planning.
    Thanks in advance

Hi, the following configuration steps involved in the capacity planning: SPRO --> IMG --> PRODUCTION --> CAPACITY REQUIREMENT PLANNING Capacity Requirements Planning: 1) Define time units 2) Define Capacity Category 3) Set up Capacity Planner. 4) Define parameters 5) Define Standard value key. 6) Define Move time matrix. 7) Define Setup matrix. 8) Define Control Key. 9) Define Shift Sequence. 10) Define Key for performance efficiency rate. 11) Define Formula parameters. 12) Specify Scheduling type. 13) Set up Production scheduler group 14) Select Automatically. 15) Define Scheduling parameters for Production orders 16) Define Scheduling parameters for networks. 17) Define Reduction Strategies planned/ production orders. 18) Define Reduction Strategies for network/process orders. 19) Define Control Profile. 20) Define Selection profile. 21) Define time profile. 22) Define Evaluation profile. 23) Define Strategy Profile. You can follow these above configuration steps in capacity planning Yes you need to active your all work center for the finite scheduling at the bottom of capacity view. Use all standard SAP configurations, Capacity Leveling Profile. Define time profile in OPD2. Define the strategy profile in OPDB Define the Overall profiles in OPD0. Then only you need to to active your all work center for the finite scheduling at the bottom of capacity view in work center.(CR02) Then run MRP with scheduling- 2 Lead time scheduling and capacity planning.(MD02) You will get your capacity requirement in CM01, or CM25/CM21. In rem you can use MF50. -
