Capacity utilization rate (percent)

Experts,
If I set up a shift 6:00:00 to 14:00:00:00, length of breaks 00:30:00, cap. util. 100% I get 7,5 hr Operation time / Capacity.
If I reduce the cap. util. to 80% and leave the start-, end- & breaktimes as they are I get 6,0 hr Operation time / Capacity.
My question is how does the reduced operating time influences the start and end times/dates in regard to scheduling ?
I am Looking for the logic behind.
Thanks in advance
Jörg

Jorg,
Capacity utilization is more frequently used with referance to viewing available capacity against requirements on CM01 screen.
It helps determine if there will be a capacity overload due to capacity inefficiency.
For ex. On Cm01 screen for Work center say W1, if a production order requires 7.5 hours to complete an operation on W1
& if Cap ultil=80% at W1, system will show that order with RED overload view as available cap is reduced to 6 hours.
However if your using finite scheduling then this cap util rate would be cheked to determine scheduling.
You control the capacity availability check and the finite scheduling with the help of the overall profile that you entered in Customizing for the availability check.
Hope this gives you some insight on this concept.
thanks,
Ram

  • Employment percent and Capacity Utilization Level

What is the significance of the Employment percent field on infotype 0007 and the Capacity utilization field on infotype 0008?  Are either one of them used by the Payroll processor to determine salary and net pay if the CATS time system is not implemented?
We want to pay part-time monthly employees, for example, at 80% of their salary if they have an 80% work schedule.  We do not wish to change the salary, but can't figure out how these percent fields would change their pay.  They don't seem to in our testing.

If you  are  using Indirect valuation of wage types  & Specyfying  Reduction Method as 2  in wage type characteristics , the Amount is reduced According to the capacity Utilization specified in IT 8 .

  • Work centre capacity utilization

    Dear guru ,
i have a work centre that always work in the same moment for 3 different production order.
If my total daily available capacity is 11 hours for my 1 individual capacity is right that I assign to the work centre a capacity utilization of 300 percent in order to have a daily available capacity of 33 hours and I can use capacity levelling in the best way ?
Or there is other better solution for solving this problem ?
    Thanks for your help.

you can also put no. of individual capacity as 3.

  • Capacity Utilization Level on Basic Pay IT0008

Can the capacity utilization level be automatically set based on the weekly/monthly/yearly hours of the work schedule rule?  For example, if 100% capacity utilization is defined as 2,000 hours per year and the employee's work schedule is 1,500 hours per year I want the percentage to be automatically set to 75%.

The problem is that a full time employee would work 1,950 hours per year (7.5 hours per day, M-F).  We have defined part time work schedules that may be 6 hours per day, M-F, or 1,560 hours per year.  The ratio of 1,560 to 1,950 is 80%, but when I assign the part time work schedule indicated above, the planned working time Employement percent for the work schedule is 100%.  This means the 100% refers to the work schedule with a total of 1,560 hours per year, not 100% of the 1,950.  I would like the capacity utilization to be set based off the planned work schedule hours in IT0007 compared to some fixed full time hours amount (like the hours value in V_T510I)

  • Report for calculating capacity utilization and Efficency

    Hi,
We are following REM in our company. The production line is defined in the production version. While backflushing the production line is called automatically and hence backflushing is done.
We calculate the capacity utilization by using the formulae.
    Capacity Utilization = (Backflushed Qty/ Available capacity)*100.
    My queries are:
    1. Is there any standard report to determine the capacity utilization of a production line.
    2. Is there any standard report to calcualte the efficency of a production line.
    waiting for reply.
    With regards,
    Afzal

    Hi afzal
    1. you have mentioned ; Available capacity = Std.time per piece * no. of working hrs
    Let me explain with example
suppose per piece if it takes 10 mins, now according to your formula
    A.C = 10* 24 * 60 = 14400 per day, but which is not correct
    normally if 10 mins/ peice means 6 peices/hr and for 24 hrs 24*6 = 144.
so it must be A.C =  no. of working hrs / Std.time per piece.
    2. You have mentioned = capacity utlilised = total Backflushed qty per day., which means you are caluculating capacity utilization based on input material.
    3. Utilization = (Avaliable capacity/ Capacity utilised) * 100
suppose let  us consider Available capacity per day =100
    capacity utilized = 50
    Utilization = (100/50) * 100 = 200%, which is not correct it should be only 50%
Here my main doubt is why You are caluculating capacity based on input material.
Please explanin  me you business process and whats the exact requirement so that I can help you out.
    Please check the formulae

  • Storage bin Capacity utilization is greater than 100%

    Hi,
Via LS03N, I can found that some capacity utilization is greater than 100%, this must be incorrect, what's the reason? is there any report to update the capacity utilization for storage bin?
    Kindly please advise.
    Thanks

For the capacity checks, the remaining capacities or the used weight in the storage bin master data are updated with every putaway or picking. If you change the inspection method in the current operations or you change capacity or weight data of materials or storage unit types, you then need to make a comparison of the data. You can make this comparison with report RLS10200. First read the documentation before you start the report.

  • Resource Capacity Utilization Question

Hi, Please let me know if the following scenario is a possibility.
We currently maintain our capacity utilization at 90% for any resource and the same number is carried over to APO with CIF. The requrement we have is to set this utilization to 100% for the rolling current date+3 months and 90% outside the 3 month horizon. I know that the dates can be specified explicity but I don't know if the rolling 3 month is possible. Please let me know if this can be achieved via config.
    Thanks in advance.

    Dear ,
I would request you to post the thead in  SDN APO forum  .
I do not think so  there is a scope of this requirement  in SAP R/3 but APO PPDS  can give you a solution for the same .

  • Resource capacity utilization report

    Hi,
Is there any standard report for Resource capacity utilization after SNP run.
Any standard extractor/data source is available to build the report?
    Regards,
    Krunal

    Hi Krunal,
    1) The report /N/sapapo/cdps_rept should be sufficient...use the selection restriction to 'restrict ' by Rosurce,Time period--In the output ofthe report, yuou would see 'bucket consumption',relatively on the Right side..
    2) I would urge you to read the note:1296446 too

  • Changing Capacity Utilization for selected days before and after a CTM Run

I have a number of resources with their respective capacity utilizations. I am running CTM which requires the resource utilizations for all the resources to be at 100%.
Can I do that with 2 capacity variants for the resource with 100% and X% utilization and switch them as and when required. My Problem is that when i create a capacity variant from say date A to date B .. the period between these comes as blocked. Is there a way to correct this.

  • Break the link between IT0007 and IT0008 for Capacity Utilization Level

    Hi Gurus!
We have a system that connects the field "Employment Percentage" from IT0007 with the "Capacity Utilization Level" from IT0008. That means that every change in the Employment Percentage changes also the percentage in the Capacity Utilization level.
Our idea is to disconnect those two fields and make them independent, because the HR Department preffer to introduce this information manually twice (once in each infotype).
Do you have any idea of how I should do that?
    Thank you in advance!
    Abel

I know what it means... The problem is for what they are using this infotype.
For them IT0007 has the schedule of the person, and the percentage can change (<100% means part-time employee)... but in IT0008 they WANT ALWAYS the 100%, because for them this percentage is based in how many hours of all the hours informed in IT0007 the employee worked.
In other words, if the employee has a Work Schedule Rule of 8 hours a day, but he is contracted part-time for only 4 hours a day, In the IT0007 he will be informed with an Employment percentage of 50%, but in the IT0008 he will have a Capacity Utilization Level of 100%, because he will work the 100% of the hours informed in the IT0007 (the 4 hours informed in Daily Working Hours).
I know it is a little bit confusing, but it's the way they are working now... probably in the future they will correct their processes, but now we must adapt to their requirements and work in this way.
    Any Idea will be welcomed

  • Capacity Utilization

We are in Repetitive manufacturing scenario and looking for capacity utilization for past period.
    Please guide preferably with example.

    Hello
In CM01 itself u can view capacity details of past. In the standard overview screen , goto settings->general -> put start date with negative sign (like 30 -) . Now u can able to see capacity in past.
However some limitation is there to select the period in past.

  • Capacity Utilization Reports no data

Hi all, starting a new thread as none of the similar threads have been able to resolve my issue.
We have System Center 2012 SP1 on Server 2012, SCOM VMM, SM, Orchestrator, App Controller etc.
    When I run the Capacity Utilization report I only have data returned for PIF, Net transfer, Capacity Utilization and Dick IO all return;
No data available. Possible causes include::
The performance rules for the report have not been enabled in the VMM Reports MP.
No computers match your selection criteria.
I am adding the Hyper-V host to the report, I have also added the Windows server objects to the report.
The SCOM host has the execution policy set to Unrestricted as per one post I have found. Pro Tips do work when tested.
I did find this blog :
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/rexzh/archive/2013/08/20/scvmm-2012-sp1-capacity-utilization-report-missing-data.aspx
But where do we locate the stored procedures?
If I look at the monitoring views I see performance data against the Hosts.
    Please assist

    Hi,
Please run the following command on the management server.
    set-executionpolicy Unrestricted
If the issue persists, I suggest you post in VMM forum to get more insights.

  • Capacity Utilization by network activity for each period

    Hi all,
How do i find out the capacity utilization at the network activity level. My requirement is to findout the remaining requirement/capacity of a workcenter for each period, which will be the cumulative value of the non utilized resources/hours for the previous months, based on distribution key.
The same functionality is there in CM07, but what is the exact functionality and how it can be reimplemented in a report?

    Hi,
Check if table KAKO helps. You may have to calculate the remaining capacity from available and utilised.

  • Capacity utilization report (Labour)

    Hi
We are developing workcenter capacity utilization report.
We have taken available capacity from KAKO table and function module.
Actual finished set up hrs we are taking from AFRU -ISM01/ILE01
My issue is for capturing confirmed set up hrs AFRU is the correct table or any other table is there.
when i am testing some production orders set up time values are not flowing into the developed report.
In which table we can see confirmed set up/processing times etc.
    regards,
    srihari.M

    Dear
Check the Work Centre assingin in the operation overview screen -then double clcik on this -Goto Work Centre Basic data Tab -Check the Standrda Value Key -Stndard value drives the three Setup , labout , machine to be entre or must be entred or not .
If Rule for maintainec is not for Set up , then this will not come up in Confirmation screen also and hence in  your customised report .Or you may be having Set up hrs which have not confirmed yet .Based on this SVK , you will choose the Formula key for Scehdule , capactiy and also Csoting tab to calcuate the same.
    Check this and come back
    regards

  • Confusion About Utilization Rate

Hey Guys, I am completely new to credit, as I am a college student. I am trying to build a strong credit score, so I want to make sure I take all the right steps. As of right now I only have one credit card. I got approved for Capital One Journey, with a credit limit of $300. I have a few questions as to how I should go about spending and paying for this card. I was originally planning on spending a large portion of the $300, then paying off my whole balance by the due date. But I am reading that I should not spend more than 9% of my credit limit, to keep my utilization rate <9%. Is this true? So, essentially, I cannot spend more than $27? With such a small credit limit, this seems like a ridiculous amount to which to limit myself, so I am wondering if I am understanding the utilization rate correctly. Or does <9% utilization rate imply I should carry a balance of less than $27 and not pay off the balance in full each month? Aren't you supposed to never carry a balance (especailly with such high student credit card APR rates)? I am confused..help! Thank you so much!

takeshi74Valued Contributor wrote: I'd be careful with that advice.  Utilization isn't just a scoring factor but a risk factor as well.  80% is very high regardless of the state of credit one is in.  Short term high utilization generally isn't an issue but prolonged high utilization can get one into trouble. Let me clarify my statement. I don't mean to encourage persistent high spending as it is not necessary to demonstrate ability to handle credit. My thought was more along the line as follows for monthly utilization: 20%, 10%, 50%, 10%, 80%, 0% - then request a CL increase and if asked: "what credit line amount you are looking for?" perhaps say: I would like a CL of $750 but $500 would be enough to ----. If there is only one credit card open to report; a high utilization on a low limit card is not unexpected. If the balance is paid in full every month the credit card company will know this when reviewing payment history. Paying in full by due date demonstrates ability to handle credit to the issuer. Ability to pay a high percentage of an existing CL in full sends a strong signal that you can handle more credit. The "pays as agreed" will show on a credit report regardless of when you PIF. However, the balance reported to the CRA depends on payment timing. I PIF monthly according to statement just because I find it so much easier than some type of timing of payments to show a zero balance at some moment in time. Don't obsess over payment timing to show a zero balance (really it is best to show a non zero balance when you only have one card) - Key is to avoid a late payment and PIF if possible. It is important to use credit to get credit.  You are 100% right on that, just letting non-trivial balances report does change your FICO instant-in-time calculation.  I would also agree when just starting out there's far more important things than obsessing about revolving utilization, you only are looking to keep a couple of lenders happy at that point and can change up the metrics before you take the step into the second tier. If you're not making an application not much really matters unless someone decides to do an AR and take exception to it (I let my balances fall wherever 90% of the time and even let a new tax lien hang out on my report for several months before getting the paperwork done, just didn't matter as I was credit idle) and once you get a large enough buffer from a limits and tradelines perspective, the calculation becomes trivialized when it comes to revolving utilization metrics; however, a lot of people aren't at that point yet.  I might be after my post-mortgage app spree, but I'm not today on 9 lines at 34K in limits with my typical card habits. That said I run as much of my financial life as possible through credit cards and I'd really suggest everyone do the same; don't run up debt you can't simply write a check for (financing large purchases at favorable interest rates not withstanding) but I can't see ever going back to a cash-based existence as being optimal for anyone but as a last resort.
