Caps lock/scroll lock/num lock/ LEDs not working - instead pop-ups in bottom RH corner of screen

Specific details; p/n: GS066PA#ABG, 4 GBytes DDR2 RAM, OS Windows 7 (6.1) Ultimate Edition 64-bit Service Pack 1 (Build 7601) DirectX 11.0. LED's were working but during one of the windows automatic updates they stopped working. I don't know which update. Now I get little pop-ups "CAPS LOCK: ON" etc (black text on white background). If I rename bttray.exe to bttray1.exe and restart the laptop, that kills the pop-ups in the bottom RH corner of the screen but it does not restore the operation of my blue indicator LED's. Can anyone help please?

I saw your post regarding the problems with the pop-ups and LED lights not working after a Windows Update. Most likely there was a problem with the update when it was installed. This Microsoft Support link will show you how to uninstall an update. Try uninstalling the most recent updates and the restart the notebook and see if the LEDs start working again.
If that fixes the issue then there is another section in that link entitled: I remove an update but it gets automatically installed. That will show you how to hide an update.

i'm here for a segnalation, i have this hp and after update audio driver (suggested by hp update software) mute led stop working, the button work and mute the audio but led not work (f6 button led).
Affected driver problem is "realtek high definition audio" version 6.0.1.7010, i opened hp recovery manager and restored driver 6.0.1.6856 after this, the led is back and working fine.
Please, fix that problmem in the next update, for the moment i ignore request update for audio driver from hp support assistant.

Dv6 power led not working

Hi everybody!
Today, I changed the fan in my Pavilion dv6-6001eh (the original stop working). After I assembly, the power led not working anymore. I check the cable, but that's ok. Otherwise the power button working. The second power led in the right side next to USB, also not working.
Why? Maybe pressed hotkey?

hi guys, well there is not much to say only that my hdd led not work, rarely i put attention on it, but just when i see... is gone... sniiiff.. i tryed change the led, invert cables, and the raid controller has nothing to do with this issue, sometime ago i have power issues, and during those times the led suddenly "wake up" , then i change the psu, and hdd, now i have sata hdd, and somebody told me the led not work with the 3· ide or sata, culd be the data cable

That's not what you said in your first post. IF IDE HDD works (even if HDD led doesn't work) then IDE cable should be OK. Perhaps HDD light case/mobo connection has a problem.

Caps Lock LED not working in X unless I hold shift

Hi, I recently installed Arch, installed X and configured it as the wiki says, installed awesome and now I switched the language toggle to Caps Lock instead of Alt+Shift.
I hoped the LED would tell me what language I'm typing in. But I noticed the LED wasn't working (Num Lock LED does work however).
I looked on the forum and it said to use
kbd_mode -u
to switch the keyboard to UTF-8 and it'll be fine.
Now Scroll Lock works too (it didn't before), but Caps Lock does something weird, it lights up for a split second then immediately turns back off. That unless I hold shift when I press Caps Lock, then it works fine, but I don't want to hold shift...
So how can I make it work?
EDIT: In the tty Caps Lock works fine.

Standard troubleshooting procedures in order are power the iPhone off and on, Reset, Restore and if no change after and or all in order, call AppleCare (800) 694-7466 or make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.

The lock/unlock button on my iPad 2 not working.

I 'm having a problem with my iPad 2(only 9 months old). The on/off button would not work for me, although it still clicked. However it worked by itself every so often, locking/unlocking itself and it trys to turn itself off(as strange as that sounds, its true). I tried restoring it but it did not help. I then rebooted it and this fixed the problem with the button not working, I can now lock it and unlock it myself. It still has a mind of its own though and keeps locking itself.
I'd be grateful if anyone can help me with this?

Apple numeric keypad keyboard caps LED not working...

Hi,
I am using numeric keypad(wired one) with my iMac, suddenly, when i switched on the machine in evening and tried tap the CAPS key and it doesn't light up but the caps lock is working perfectly fine.
I saw many posts regarding this on Apple discussions, but, none of them has worked for me.
Sometimes, i use this keyboard with Windows 7 also it is not working for that too. I tried with many other PCs including Windows or Mac but, didn't worked.
I discovered that Apple is providing protection against accidently CAPS lock with new manufactured keyboards, i bought my iMac 15 days back.
My entire work in on Mac and on the application i used to work on, i need to enter the password at almost 4 locations and with out knowing that CAPS lock is on or off, really taking a lot of time.
Can any body suggest that the problem is with the LED Bulb or what? or this a manufacturing fault? or i need to go for a new keyboard?

Hi, my first suspect would be a bad Keyboard.
Open System Preferences>Keyboard>Modifier keys, is Caps Lock set to No Action?
Open Keyboard Veiwer in Sys Prefs>International or Languages, do the letters switch to upper case when Caps Lock is pressed?

Wireless LED not working on Asus K53E laptop with ath9k driver

Hi fellow Archlings,
After searching via Google and the Arch Forums for the past six hours, I've still yet to see the indicator LED light blink at all. All of my laptop's other five LEDs work (power/sleep, battery, hard disk activity, num lock, caps lock), but from boot till my wifi is connected to a network and thereafter the LED stays dark. This issue isn't big, just a minor trouble.
Kernel:

I eventually stumbled on the above thread from the Ubuntu forums which gave good advice, including the modinfo command, which I was using with
# modinfo -F parm ath9k

nohwcrypt:Disable hardware encryption
debug:Debugging mask
However running
# modprobe -r ath9k
# modprobe ath9k blink=1
doesn't make any change to the LED - still pitch black in there (well, there's the ambient light from peripheral buttons but you know... ).
I've been to
# cat /sys/class/leds/ath9k-phy0/trigger
none AC0-online BAT0-charging-or-full BAT0-charging BAT0-full BAT0-charging-blink-full-solid rfkill1 rfkill3 phy0rx phy0tx phy0assoc phy0radio [phy0tpt]

where X includes all of the possible values listed by the cat command, individually of course.

In Ubuntu the script is placed in /etc/network/if-up.d/ but where is that to be found in Arch Linux, and will it work with NetworkManager instead of the regular network daemon?

The LED flash alert only works when your phone is locked or asleep.
Is that the problem your having since you didn't state it?

Sounds a little bit like keyboard malfunction.
I think the service technician should need to initialize the Numpad function by Test & Diagnostic software and should replace the keyboard if the test would fail.
