Caps stuck on. Login denied

In the middle of writing an email the script turned to caps which I couldn't get rid of. Tried restarting but it took me to a 'safe boot' login page that I hadn't seen before. My password doesn't work. Caps still on? At no time was the caps log light on. Tried following a PRAM re-boot from Internet instructions, but still can't log in. Can anyone help please?

Problem fixed. Shift key was slightly stuck down. Thank you nice man from AppleCare who isolated the problem to the keyboard and made me check!

Stuck in login window after upgrading to Mavericks

I am unable to login with my (admin) account after upgrading to Mavericks yesterday.
This was very unfortunate considering that I didn't backup my data !!
On reboot (I do not remember whether it was the first or second time) I couldn't login anymore as I usually did.
I tried different procedures (entering secure mode, repair permissions, reinstall 2 times Mavericks) but cannot solve the stuck.
Then I thought it could be a nice idea to create a new admin user and followed this instructions (http://www.hackmac.org/tutorials/how-to-create-a-new-administrator-account/).
After that I was able to login with the new user, I backed-up my data but I was still in stuck on login window with the old user.
I tried to delete
com.apple.loginwindow.plist
com.apple.recentitems.plist
from /Users/XXX//Library/Preferences/ and tried to restart but nothing.
Now I wonder how my old and important user can start working again.

Restart and hold down the Command and R keys during startup.
On top, in the Menu Bar click the Utilities item then select Terminal.
In the Terminal window, type resetpassword and hit Return.
The Password reset utility launches/
Reset password.
Restart

Lion Stuck at login screen,can't type password

My OSX Lion stuck at login screen,when I type password it just "beep" and I can only type few words.I just had those problem before..But since the battery ran out,and I gonna login...then I can't type the password...please help me....
P.S. My keyboard and trackpad is not working before,my keyboard can't type and my trackpadcan only do right click..

What year and model of MacBook Pro do you have? I'm wondering if the factory installed battery is failing due to age or use. A MacBook Pro battery can be recharged about 300 times before it becomes unuseable. Is this possibly the problem?

Close the Internet browser and reopen it to access the Internet.
Clear browsing history, cookies and temporary Internet files. Or simply restart the computer.

Poblem connecting CISCO anyconnect secure mobility client ver. 3.1.04 versus Windows VISTA SP2: Login denied

Hi,
Suddenly I have this error with my client cisco AnnyConnect ver. 3.1.04063 connecting with my computer:windows vista SP2.
Message appeared: "Login denied. "name_company" security policies have rejected your login" and nothing else.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall the client annyconect ver.3.1.04063 but not success, the same message, I think it's a problem with my computer because my user id with other computer colleagues runs ok and I can authenticate perfectly.
Few days ago and always I have worked without problems then I don't know what happens...perhaps an automatically update of windows vista¿?
Anyone of you with similar issue or problem?

I have another computer with windows 8.1 and Cisco VPN Anyconnect version 3.1 works fine ! what is wrong with this computer. After a little bit of research I realised that this issue is from cisco hostscan. Interesting enough comp A(computer A) where vpn client works does not have cisco host csan folder in program files (x86). On this computer I did saw that folder and deleted it.
I found the following information
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Cisco\Cisco HostScan\lib has some sort of .libs for various antivirus.... I have AVG Antivirus 2015 and Spy Bot ...
I have attached log files, if anybody wants to investigate then you are more than happy to investigate. Happy to be of help in case if you need any further input.

IMac purchased at garage sale help. Gets stuck at "Login Window Starting."

Hi all,
I recently purchased an iMac at a barn sale, and it turns on and everything, but then gets stuck at "Login Window starting" screen (http://i605.photobucket.com/albums/tt135/gpd2paul4/IMG_0251.jpg). When Goggling this problem, I see that I am not alone in thee problem, but I am alone in the fact that I don't even know what model it is (I think G3, but not sure), let alone have the original CDs or paperwork. I have tried holding 'shift' right after the startup chime to start up in safe mode, but it still gets stuck at "Login Window starting." I have attached a few pictures of the computer to help you veteran Mac users identify it, which might help you help me. Any help is appreciated. (Step-by-step instructions are best, I am good at using a Mac, but this is getting pretty technical.)

Try holding down the shift key when powering on. This will skip a few programs from loading.
Hold down the shift key when booting into Mac OS X. this will check your file structure and do a repair. This will also leave off some files from being used.

Try holding down the option key when powering on. This will bring up the startup manager. Perhaps 9 is installed. Click on icon then click on right arrow.

You need to figure out the level of your firmware before installing 10.2 or greater. ( The PC name for firmware is BIOS. ) Installing 10.2 with a down level firmware will most likely make your iMac unusable and difficult to fix.

Basically, you hold down the command-s key then powering on your machine. The command key has a little apple symbol on the lower left. It is between the alt/option key and the space bar
When you are in single user mode, you are in Unix. you can try looking in the log files to see if you can find anything.

More over I have already disable the fire wall also still the issue is persist.

After update, keyboard and trackpad does not work on MBA but wireless mouse works. I don't use a wireless keyboard. Stuck at login because need to enter pw. Anyone have this issue? Please help!

My Macbook Air (13", mid 2011) right after I did the Maverick OS update. My keyboard on Macbook Air is not working and it says "There isn't a keyboard connected" (Bluetooth Keyboard Setup). I do not use a wireless keyboard. Apparently my bluetooth works because my wireless mouse works. I am currently stuck at my login screen not being able to get in because I can't even enter my password. I am, however, able to login as guests and get to the Keyboard viewer to type things with my wireless mouse. I really need my keyboard to work to use for my job. I need help please!

I forgot to mention that my power button did work but everything else, keyboard and trackpad, didn't! Anyway, I shutdown my laptop, slept, and turned it back (in hopes that it might work instead of restarting it like before). Now my keyboard and trackpad works! Thank goodness! I was about to go to the Apple store upset too!

Weblogic 9.2 Embedded LDAP Login denied!

Hi,
I am trying to put together users/ groups in the Embeded ldap for LDAP authentication. I saw in the embedded LDAP, the tree as
     domainName->myrealm->groups,people etc by default.
Now, under the LDAP root domainName, I created a directory structure as:
     domainName->myorg->groups,users.
In the weblogic console ( myrealm is the default security realm.)
under myrealm, I created LDAP Authentication Provider and gave all the LDAP provider specific info for searching etc.
I was able to see the users using the console screen.
Now in my Web Application, using the "FORM based Authentication"(using j_username etc) I tried to login.
I saw the AdminServer log:
--getDNForUser search("ou=people,ou=myrealm,dc=domainA", "(&(uid=ldapuser2)(objectclass=person))", base DN & below)
with the following exception:
--javax.security.auth.login.FailedLoginException: [Security:090302]Authentication Failed: User ldapuser2 denied
     at weblogic.security.providers.authentication.LDAPAtnLoginModuleImpl.login(LDAPAtnLoginModuleImpl.java:191)
which means, Weblogic was trying to use the LDAP params which were pointing to 'myrealm'.
I was expecting weblogic to search as I specified in the provider:
"ou=users,ou=myorg,dc=domainA" rather than "ou=people,ou=myrealm,dc=domainA".
Remember I am using Embeded LDAP.
Please let me know whether what I am trying to achieve is something that Weblogic is capable of.
By the way, when I put my users under the 'myrealm' directory it does authenticate.

These are the steps that I followed to connect weblogic 9.2 with LDAP Port 636(SSL Enabled) and it worked fine.
Steps for Installation of SSL
1.     Modify the Provider Specific configuration in the Admin Console to use port 636 and ‘SSL Enabled’ (OR Modify config.xml)
     <wls:port>636</wls:port>
     <wls:ssl-enabled>true</wls:ssl-enabled>
2.     Back up the D:\apps\bea\wls92\weblogic92\server\lib directory
3.     Copy the certificate (xxxx.cer) to that directory
4.     Import the certificate into the keystore:
5.     D:\apps\bea\wls92\jrockit_150_12\bin\keytool -v -import -alias ldapcert -keystore DemoTrust.jks -file entrust_ssl_ca.cer -storepass DemoTrustKeyStorePassPhrase
6.     Add the following parameter to the JAVA_OPTIONS in the start script (setDomainEnv.cmd):
a.     -Dweblogic.security.SSL.allowSmallRSAExponent=true
7.     Restart WebLogic (Admin) Server

Problem login denied as sys as sydba

Hi,
I was able to login as sys/passwd@dbname. But when I tried to connect sys/passwd@dbname as sysdba, I got this error :
ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
I was doing this using SQL*Plus and on the server where the database resides.
I need to shutdown this database. As far as I know I need to connect "as sysdba", right?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

There are two ways to connect to Oracle as sysdba:
1) through the network using a password file (indeed, when specifying a sid in the connect string you are always connecting this way)
2) internally
For 1) to work, you need to have a password file in place and grant the sysdba rights to the users that can be connected to as sysdba remotely. To do so, the init.ora file needs the setting:
remote_login_passwordfile = exclusive
and you need to use the
orapwd
utility to create the password file. The password file stores the username/password for all connections that may remotely connect as sysdba. When you grant sysdba to a user, this file gets updated. In your case, my guess is that file was not made for the ess04 database and was for the ess03 database. Thus you are left with the following option. :)
For 2) to work, you need to correctly identify your instance. An instance is identified by two things: an ORACLE_SID and an ORACLE_HOME. (reason for this is you can have multiple instances per oracle installation and you can have multiple oracle installations on 1 machine.) Identification can be done by 'normal' environment variables which can be set in
- your registry or
- your machines environment variables or
- your sessions environment variables.
The last is easiest and most flexible if you have multiple instances on 1 machine. Just do this:
set ORACLE_SID=ESS04
set ORACLE_HOME=c:\oracle\ora81 (where oracle is installed, not including the bin directory)
sqlplus /nolog
connect / as sysdbaThis last command basically connects internally using the environment settings and without using the password file. You can only do this as administrator (ORA_DBA group user) on the machine the instance is installed on. Once you can connect internally, you can set up your instance to also allow remote sysdba connections as described in item 1.
This is similar on Unix.

I downloaded Adobe Download Assitant today, finally having gotten it to download. However, after opening and attempting to login, I realized something: I was stuck on this screen! What is this, why is it stuck like this, and how do I make it go past this?

Does it give you any specific error message?
Are you behind a Firewall that might be preventing the Download Assistant to communicate with Adobe.com?

Spotify stuck on Login

Hi, I've never posted before so I'm sorry if I'm doing something wrong.
I've looked on the forum but can't seem to find a solution to my problem.
I recently got an Asus tablet (fonepad 7) - KitKat. I installed Spotify but after I try to login through Facebook (Facebook works fine) the app just gets stuck on the login page, the one with "Logging in, please wait..." and the green moving circle. I tried waiting up to an hour and a half, it's still stuck. I tried deleting the app, reinstalling it, deleting the folder, etc. I tried earlier versions of the app, still same results. I also upgraded to Lollipop and tried Spotify again, no change.
I've got no idea what could be causing this, because the app works perfectly on my phone. What's different with this tablet?

I would go on the computer, and disconnect from facebook. That will make your credentials not linked to facebook. Then go to forgot password, and reset it -- after you do that, log in on the phone, and then you can connect it to facebook without issues (hopefully). Hope it works!

Stucks at login using Windows 10

After entering my credentials it simply darkens the green "login" button and stucks. The button is not clickable again, no error message. Complete reinstallation doesn't work.

Stuck at login screen after Lion install

I downloaded and installed Lion on my late 2008 mbp with the latest updated snow leopard and after the install, I'm stuck on a screen with icons of my users. If I click nothing happens. I tried repairing disk permissions as well as re-installing Lion but nothing has helped. Any ideas?

You might see if this works:
Clearing Caches to Fix Login Problem
You will need to type some Unix commands. If you are not comfortable with this, I don't know of anything other than a re-install. But if you are careful, you should be OK. I recommend you print this out in a largish mono-spaced font so you don't miss any spaces (or add extra ones). Note that case is important.
Be careful. Some of these commands are dangerous, since you are going to be root.
Start up in Single-user Mode. When this has finished you will see a prompt ending in '#', although there may be other messages. Enter the following commands after the prompt:
/sbin/fsck -fy
Press RETURN. Wait a few seconds for 8-10 lines of output. If the last line says repairs were carried out, repeat this command until you get a message 'The volume <yourdiskname> appears to be OK'. Then continue with:
/sbin/mount -uw /
cd /Library/Preferences
rm com.apple.loginwindow.plist
rm com.apple.windowserver.plist
cd /Library/Caches
rm -r *
cd /System/Library
cd /System/Library/Caches
rm -r *
reboot
Press RETURN after each command.
This should now take you to a proper login screen after the normal boot sequence. You should then Repair Permissions by using Disk Utility (in your /Applications/Utilities folder).
