Captions in slideshows

why do i get double text in my captions when in slideshow

Double text occurs due to sub-pixel text rendering. When you have your display color settings too low, there are not enough colors available to perform sub-pixel rendering and the text gets split. To fix this, go to your display settings and increase your Color Quality from 16- to 32-bit. How to do this exactly depends on your OS.

I am using my Description as the caption on Slideshow.  I ticked the "Show Title Slide" button and iPhoto physically copied the description on the first slide onto the end of every other description.  I can find no way of removing them other than by hand.  Unticking the "show title slide" did not reverse the situation back to my required state.   Any ideas why it might have happened or how it might br resolved?   Regards, Marshfrog1

Previous contact information with your organization (DURIM):
Dennis - i just finished my audition trial and bought the subscription the 2014 version.

DURIM - Okay.  I would expect the "Cache Warning" message because your default directories would not be the same as the ones in the settings file I generated.
If you go back to the "7.0" directory and open the "Logs" folder, can you copy the "Audition Log.txt" file and send it as an attachment to [email protected]?  We'll take a look in that logfile and see if it gives us more information about why this is failing now.
Also, do you have any other Adobe applications installed on this machine, such as Premiere Pro?  If so, do they launch as expected or fail as well?
I do have the trial Pro version of Adobe reader, but I have not activated it, because I fear the same thing will happen did it. I cannot afford to activate the subscription for that product and take the chance of it not working either. I depend on those two programs religiously. Here is the files that you requested. I appreciate any help you can give me to get this audition program started

  • Use of captions in slideshows

New Muse User.  I am building my first slideshow and using the Muse Slideshow Widget.  I want to build 2 different types of slideshows, one with thumbnails and one without. The documentation and videos are helpful but could not find anything to help me display a caption for each picture.  How do I do this?

    Hello,
Please check the steps below for both the scenarios
    Slideshow with thumbnail:
    1. Select the thumbnail.
    2. Now the caption that you can see in for the related image of the thumbnail.
    3. Edit the caption as you wish.
    4. Now if you click on another thumbnail you will observe that the Hero Image and caption test has changed.
    5. Change the details as per your requirement/
    6. Similarly you can change the cation for rest of the images in the slide show.
    Slideshow with-out thumbnail:
    1. Go to the slideshow options and check the thumbnail option. (By doing this thumbnails will become visible)
    2. Follow the same steps given under "Slideshow with thumbnail" to updated captions
    3. Once captions are upto date, go to Slideshow options and uncheck thumbnails.
Please let me know if you have any other query regarding the same.
For more details i would suggest you to check the posts below, this will give you more clarity about captions.

  • IWeb cuts of captions in slideshow .

I have to have rather long captions ( 6 or 7 lines ) in photo descriptions of my iWeb pages .
However I see that when they are shown as a slideshow ,iWeb cuts off the last 3 lines .
Is there a solution to this ?
    Any genius out there .?
    Thank you

The number of lines in the slideshow is set by the javascript that creates the slideshow. Cyclosaurus posted a way to edit the .js file that controls the height of the caption section so it would include all lines. See this topic: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8367274&#8367274. Let us know if you're successful with the workaround.

  • Multiple captions in Slideshow

Hi, Is there a way to create more captions in the lightbox-slideshow widget? I'd love to have two per image, but when i try to add a textframe it would go "in" the slideshow, it just stand loose on the page. Also i can't copy the one caption and past that one inside the slideshow. The whole slideshow gets copied...
    Can anyone help?
    thanks in advance, bart

I understand you would not like to have too many images in one slide show and would like to categorize them instead.
The easiest way to achieve something like this would be by using multiple Lightbox slide shows for the purpose as indicated in the picture below where each slide show on the page can act as an Image Catalog for your gallery page. You can disable the "Show lighbox parts while editing" option so that you are able to re-arrange the triggers easily in alignment with the other slide show triggers. Now when you preview the page in browser, it should give you a similar feel as if they are different categories with distinct titles/headings.
    Thanks,

  • Using caption in Slideshow without showing empty or ""

I want to show text on selected  individual slides in a slideshow . I know that I can use caption or title for this ( can I use either one or is there a preferred one  ? ) .
However , not all the photos in the slideshow have captions, so for those without, it shows " < empty >" respectively 2 " ".
I want that there is nothing on the slide if there is no caption .
How can I do this ?
    thank you

    Thanks Rick
You are right, the EMPTY is not shown , but is still shows "" ( using the default caption and rating template ) .
So I cannot use it as intended , as I want to overlay the caption text over the photo.
Even when it has text , the markings at the beginnning and end have no reason to be there : " my text "
Is there a way to eliminate the "" marks ?
Is that an editable feature ?
    Thanks

  • Help with Captions, within Slideshows

I'm struggling with trying to figure out how to customize the size and location of caption boxes, within each image of a slideshow. It seems that, once an initial caption box has been set in the first image, it appears in all consecutive images at the same location and size, with no means of individually controlling them. Am I overlooking something? Is there a way to customize the size and location of all captions within one slideshow? Your help/advise would be greatly appreciated.  ~Thank you

    hi DubuqueIA,
what do you mean by "Follow the same steps given under "Slideshow with thumbnail" tu updated captions" ?? where are these steps?
i btw have the same problem: edit together active or not - it always changes the size of all my captions. i just want one of my captions to be wider.

  • Captions in slideshow

I am able to see captions for individual images. I do not see them in the slideshow. Must I selection this display option somewhere or are captions not viewable in the starter edition?

Which version of Starter Edition are you using? In Starter Edition 3.0, the captions are visible when you create a PDF slideshow but not in the Full Screen Slideshow.

  • Floating captions under slideshow pictures

I have a slideshow where the pictures are of varying heights. I would like the caption to always appear just below the picture. Currently this is a problem because the long pictures overlap the caption and the short pictures have a large gap between the bottom of the picture and caption. How can I make a floating caption that stays just below the picture no matter how tall or short the picture is?

    Hi Scott,
I will recommend that you use a composition widget instead where you will be able to align captions for individual images below them.

  • Include "Comments" as caption in slideshow?

I am putting together a slideshow of vacation pictures. Is it possible to have iPhoto add captions to the pictures of what I type in the "comments" section? This would be more convenient than going into iMovie and adding captions, I think.

    Jeff,
Unfortunately, you can't show iPhoto's comments. However, you can show the iPhoto titles and changing the titles does not effect the real filename of the photo.
    Hope this helped!

  • Keeping captions in slideshow, and organizing collections by choice in PSA SE 3

    1. I lose my captions when I put the pics in PDA slideshow format...can I keep them as shown in my Collections? I use WIN XP on Dell Inspiron 8200.
    2. I do not want my Collections organized alphabetically or by date, but as I set them up. Is there a way I can insure the Collections stay lined up as I wish?

Thanks for your reply. (1) By "losing my captions" going into PDA format,I meant that they did not carry over when the slideshow was performing, so viewers would not know what they were seeing. The captions remained below my pictures in the Collection, however.
    (2) I was referrring to the specific "Collections" feature of PS3. I had no ttrouble moving the pictures around in a given Collection, and they stayed put there, but my series of several Collections kept realigning themselves in an order different from the one I put them in. I wanted them shown in a specific order. Any suggestions?

  • Easy captions for slideshows

I am not using iPhoto 09 yet, but people are always asking me how do you create a slideshow DVD that looks great and is easy to do - catch is that everybody wants to add titles and captions. Has Apple added this feature to iPhoto 09? I know I can go into Photoshop, or another image editor and add a caption to the image, but for most people that's just not an option. iPhoto should be easy enough that grandmas can do it. My mother is the main one that's been asking me of late. I finally convinced her to buy an iMac, and I'm already stressing how I'm going to show her to add captions to photos so that they show up in a slideshow DVD. Any ideas out there? Thanks so much.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Create the slideshow in iDVD from imported stills and you'll have the option to add Titles/subtitles to any photo you would like.

The downside to this method is that you can't have the Ken Burns effect in the slideshow. The upside is that, IMO, the resulting image quality of the slideshow is better.
If you have access to a copy of iMovie 6 HD you an create the slideshow in it with titles and subtitles and much better control of any added music than the latest iMovie version.

  • Moving Captions in Slideshows

Hi! I'm making slideshows out of 3,000 slides I had digitized. I'm including captions, but the default placement is too high and they cover the photos, making the photos hard to see and the captions often illegible. I see that I can move each caption individually, but can't figure out how to establish a new default location so that ALL captions automatically go to the same spot lower down and to the left. I wonder if the original placement was chosen to be TV-safe or something; otherwise it seems like an odd place to have a caption.
    Any suggestions? Thanks!!

  • The Organizer – Using file names as captions in SlideShow

    I am using Vista.
I just switched from using ZoomBrowser to The Organizer and I have a collections of thousands of photos. In ZoomBrowser I could show the file names (which I used to describe the slide) at the bottom of the slides during a slide show. I have not found such a feature in The Organizer. Is there one?
Otherwise, is there a method whereby I can do a batch import of the file names into the captions in the photos in The Organizer? I have the Flash Rename software which I can probably use to place the text of the file names in the Details of the Properties of the photo files.
    Please help,
    CarlosWA

There is no similar feature in imOvie that I know of.
