Captions

Question

Is there a file where captions are stored? I would like to be able to either move them via copy/paste or at least print them out.
Reason: I am converting old slide carousels and editing in Elements before putting them in a slide show. While scanning etc I put the captions into the Organizer but there is no easy way to transfer those to Pro Show or any other slide show program. I therefore have to constantly go back and forth between Organizer and Slide Show.

Hi,
I hope these notes will work for you, I am using ProShow Gold (PSG) version 4.52 and they seem to work there. I think we are talking about the same field but I use short captions.
In PSE, add the text to the Caption field by using your preferred method.I tend to enter it into the Properties - General screen but there are other ways.
Introduce the images to PSG - I tend to use drag and drop from PSE to PSG but you may have your own way.
In PSG, select the slides that you wish to display the caption on and then either click on the Slide Opt button on the toolbar or right click on a slide and select Slide Options.
Select the Captions tab.
Click on the Insert Macro link under Caption Format
From the dropdown list for Macro Types, select EXIF Metadata Macros
Select the first one (Image title). It is best not to select from the right hand column.
Now click on Add & Close button to add the caption as text
Position the text as required and then click on OK to close the options window.
The captions should now display as text. If, at a later stage, you decide to change the caption in PSE, then re-running PSG should pick up those changes providing you didn'tuse the fixed text from the right column as mentioned above.
