Captivate 1.0 Expert needed $40/hour

I want to gire someone to help us with some problems we are
having with Captivate 1.0. It would be over the phone. We are just
stuck in a few areas and time is running out. If you can help,

request for help was posted nearly 6 months ago. There is small
chance he still needs help, but if he does, the way to find out

Which leads to my question. Just being a student of human
nature, I am curious how you even found this six-month old post to
respond to it. It would have been off the front page of the
"General Discussions" forum for nearly all of that time, so did you
run a search to find it?

Yes, and, I try to restore. I have the T-Mobile sim card in it just to clarify. It will not let me get passed that, it does not accept the t-mobile sim card. i tried restoring it using wifi, cellular, and i cant get i tunes. I am scared that if i take the tmobile sim card out and put the at&t one in just to complete the restoration process that the iphone will lock again and not read the tmobile sim card, then all my hard work has gone for nothing. ( this whole process was caused by me trying wanting to empty my pictures onto my computer because i did not have any storage space left). <--- that may not be as important, but i included it just because.

3 minutes video need 6 hours Rendering...

Today i started to render a video clip which have at least 20 videos with green screen keygen and a lot of effects like smoke, color correction etc. The video is 3 minutes and to render it i need 6 hours... Is this normal, i have to change some settings or i need to upgrade my computer? My computer is Intel Core i3, Graphic Card: GT440, 8GB Ram.

Yeah I've had projects where sections have taken that long per frame especially if there's tons of lights and 3D layers. If you're running AE CS5 there's a useful script for background rendering that gives you the time taken per frame so you can have a better estimate of the full render time. Check it out. http://www.andrewandoru.com/2010/03/17/labs-aerender/ It's just a droplet so you don't even have to open AE and that might help speed up the full render time.

Will Captivate 3 meet our needs?

I work within a training and development department, and have
been asked to research Captivate 3. We do a variety of training
including soft skills (leadership, communication, presentation
skills, etc.) and some "harder" skills. We want to create online
supplements to our instructor led courses. We rarely train on
systems (e.g., how to use a learning management system, a
time-keeping system, etc). We're Adobe fans, and recently attended
a session on Captivate given by a trainer in a different division.
That individual was using an older version of Captivate, and it was
suggested that if we wanted to do training that focused on
non-system skills, perhaps another Adobe product would do a better
job.
I thought I present my question to the Captivate 3 pros (you
:-) and get your input. If we want to have supplemental training on
topics such as giving presentations, diversity, leadership, etc.,
will Captivate 3 best suit our needs? What specific experiences in
this arena have you had? Are there other Adobe products better
suited to our needs?

Hi Ed,
I'd certainly recommend considering Captivate if you are
developing e-learning materials in which you'd like to include
examples of applications, movies, audio instructions, etc.
However, I think Captivate is a little restrictive if you
want to use your developed materials like you'd use PowerPoint to
develop and show presentations. There are many reasons... The
materials in Captivate do not scale "full screen" (well) without
changing your resolution (PowerPoint tends to handle this nicely).
It is also rather expensive to develop using the tools vs.
something that presumably most people have on their computers
already (PowerPoint). There is a bit of a learning curve with
Captivate (as there is with PowerPoint with some of the more
advanced functions). Adobe does sell an plugin/addon for PowerPoint
(Presenter) that may be nice for you too, though I think it is now
packaged with other software. You can read about it
here.
Captivate presentations also do not work as well with
"remotes" you'd commonly use for presenting. There are some
workarounds with Captivate, but PowerPoint makes this very easy.
My recommendation would be to look at what you are going to
be creating and using the presentations for. It really depends on
what you'll be using them for.
Do a little research - try downloading the demo of Captivate
and see how it works for you...

My dashboard taking long time to load in ipad compared to Desktop. Experts need suggestion to tune my dashboard.

I have developed dashboard with BEX query as a source(9 queries used in dashboard). This dashboard opens in 40 secs in BI launchpad but if I open same dashboard through SAP BI app it almost taking 3-4 min. Is there any ways to improve performance in Ipad?

Hi MH,
Opening the dashboard in 40 secs in desktop is also a problem before jumping in to the ipad. Maximum it should take 5 - 10 secs to open the dashboard then only the clients will show interest on working with dashboards.

Hello,
The Summit implementation methodology was a methodology used by Outlooksoft to implement the product. After the acquisition of Outlooksoft by SAP and gthe subsequent rebranding of the product into BPC, SAP has integrated different sets of implementation methodologies into the SAP ASAP (Accelerated SAP) methodology, which is SAP's way of doing things. Currently, SAP Expertise centers are rolling out these methodologies into BPC projects.
Shared query engine: is the query engine BPC uses in the background to get queries and results back and from the server. Depending on the type of input the user has done/report the user need, the engine decides how to get this request handled, where to store the data and where to get the results from. The shared query engine runs on the application server.
File Service: whenever you store pre-built reports onto the server or datafiles to be used in datamanager, basically anything that involves the user, admin or system doing something with files, these files are stored in the Webfolders (altough these may be called BPC folders these days) directory and the file service hadles this traffic.
Authentication: well basically you have user authentication setup using the security setup from BPC 9in the Admin tasks). This restricts users to have access to certain tasks, entities or other secured diemnsions. So the whole security setup determines authenticication on the server to what a user is allowed to do, see, to input or to edit. Then you have also authentication in the backend (between servers). This is osmething an admin should not worry to much about as the system is supposed to handle this for you. For instance, a datamanager package authenticates itself at the SQL server to store data into its tables. So there is a system authentication service too that decides if a datamanager job is allowed to talk to this SQL server instance. But agina, these technical authnetications probalby should not worry you as an admin or superuser as the system handles those. Of course IT people might e interested to figure out what services need certain types of authentication, but in general, even they should not bother too much as this all comes with the BPC design and they cannot do a lot about it anyway, just give the correct rights to certain services (as described in the installation manual)
Finally, how many admins can there be ?
Well you will have a pute technical systems admin somewhere who handles master password and stuuf. But that person is not a BPC admin in the true sense. Again, any IT organisation has those people. From the functional side, you should of ocurse have at least one admin, but you can vary the number based on functional requirements or maybe requirements that come from a segregation of duties principle that has been determined by an audit department. In general, you will find that the audit guys want as little admins as possible, but from an operational perspective it is normal to have at least 2 or 3 people who "manage" the system form a functional perspective.

We are looking for Java Server Faces (JSF 1.2) test validators. These are Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the field of Java Server Faces (JSF 1.2). This is something that you will be paid to do on your own time, but it isn't very time consuming. The validators will go through the outline and the final test, and comment on suitability of questions/levels etc. As I've said, it is not a very time intensive task, only a few hours. JTable Experts Needed :-)

My question is : should I use a JTable and customp 2D painting, or should I go for full Java2D ? I have to add that you may drag one card from a slot and put it in another one. Please note the mutiple lines header and multi column left header and the "cartoon like" captions in yellow....

Well I don't see any huge features in your screenshot that would be too hard to implement.
Basically the column and row header are not supported by standard JTable (colorizing stuff is easy).
I would advise to use separate JTables for row and column headers (in additioin to main table), so you will need to synchronize scrolling. But this could be done. No need to make a custom component.
If you decide to design a new component, be sure to take the JTable source code and modify it (the best way is subclassing the existed classes).
Creation of new component from scratch could be quite difficult especially if you want it to be consistent with different LAFs.

PP07 not importing into Captivate 4 as I need it to...HELP

In Captivate 3 when I import a PP slide it imports it into captivate as an object on the Captivae slide. However, in Captivate 4 it does not import it as an object on a slide, but the slide itself. I need it to import as it did in C3...suggestions?

Hi there
I'm thinking that even those steps won't solve your issue. You might first try to insert a Click Box object to pause the slide before it ends. Captivate 4 introduces a new wrinkle with this feature in that when a slide ends it seems to always do the fade out regardless of other settings. So the only way I've discovered to prevent that is to use something to pause the slide before the fade out occurs.

Expert needed !!

speed has been great for the last month or so - 74/19 with a ping of 17
a week ago, the usual gremlins crept back in - speed dropped to 62/18 with a ping of around 32
spoke to india yesterday and they had me rebooting a couple of times and he insisted that I turn off my ECI Open Reach modem and use the HH5 as both modem and router. He's promised me a call back today between 10 and 12 (we'll see, eh !!)
Speed is now 50/18 with a ping of 33 this morning - NEVER been this bad !!!
Can any of you experts interpret these stats from the HH5 for me please ??

Is it possible that the 3 or four reboots yesterday triggered DLM overnight ??
The VDSL uptime is shown as 02:04:31 - yet it's been on since 17:00 yesterday - I guess this is a reminder of why I got an Open Reach modem ?? The connection was solid for 2 months with the ECI - the only problem was the drop in profile.
Any help, greatly appreciated.

well - they rang me at 11:50 and were on the phone for 55mins
several more reboots later, the IP profile is now 51 and I'm getting 49Mbps download and a ping of 38ms. It seemed to me that he was just taking the pi$$, he seemed to be trying completely random things !!! He then "gave up" and referred it to the next team up the greasy pole.
I then had an email informing me that BT were investigating a phone fault and I rang the number in the email. Another 40min phone call which culminated in me being told to reinstate the Open Reach Modem and use the HH5 as a router again. They are going to send me another HH5 - argh!! Paper weight/door stop anyone ??
I was informed that the fault had been escalated to "tier two technical" and they would ring me back within 48 hours.
Set up wise, I'm back to what I had yesterday afternoon and the speed has now dropped by 25Mbps in a week and the ping has more than doubled !!
I'm sure the telephone people are instructed to try and wear the customer down so that they just give up ??? I'm off all week - I accept your challenge BT !!

Layering expert needed

I am looking to hire an expert with video layering to assist with a video-layering demonstration. Is there a reference resource for such needs?

Thank you all for the suggestions but I guess I should have been more clear - I'm looking for a list of video layering experts to hire. I don't have the time or money to become expert myself. I need someone who I can hire to work on a hoax video along the same lines as those where a guy gets hit by a car after falling down a lot of stone steps, or similar to the recent one showing the naked guy climbing out Buckingham palace. I'm making a hoax video and need a layering expert to assist.

File-Receiver channel needs 15 hours to write a 12 MB file

Hi,
we use PI/700 SPS 5.
I implemented a small scenario File -> XI (with xsl-Mapping) -> File.
When I load in a file with 12 MB it took about 15 hours till XI writes the transformed file.
The XSL-Transformation is quit simple!
The audit-protocol is ok (no errors) but the message monitoring shows the status "systems error" (funny, isn't it).
I don't know what to do?

We originally used the graphical mapping as well, with the same understanding that it was faster. Some time back our consultant (non-SAP) explained why XSL was faster. It's been some time and I can't remember the details. We were also having problems with an intermittent mapping runtime memory errors at the time, and using XSL eliminated this.
The original poster indicated problems with XSL mapping - I'm simply suggesting that XSL may not be the fault, as it works fine for us.
We continue to use XSL as we've found it easier to maintain interface mappings with. Depending on the interface and the changes required, adding a field for example, usually involved changing 1 or 2 lines of XSL with your favorite editor and then re-importing into XI. The graphical editor was not always this simple.
No experience with java - can't speak to that.

Forensic Expert needs help with FCP

Hi,
I recently purchased FCP and I am a forensic audio expert.
I want to use this in court presentations as well as the occasional talk show appearance. I have a pretty good grasp on the functions and capabilities but I have two very important questions to ask.
1. I want to be able to visually display an Audio Wave form that moves in real time with the audio track for transcription purposes and court room presentation. In other words, I want the jury to be able to see either a spectrograph or wave form on a large screen while the transcript is superimposed on top of it. I am not worried about getting the text on the screen but I can't seem to figure out how to display the audio in either format visually moving in real time.
2. Are there any other forensic experts out there using FCP that might be willing to share some secrets or scripts with me?

Message mapping problem / experts needed / UDF?

I have the following problem in a message mapping:
Source structure is as follows:
- Node a (min 1, max 999)
- Subnode b (min 0, max 999)
- Each Subnode b has the element "number" (1,1)
This structure must be mapped to the following target structure:
- Node c (1,999)
   - Subnode d (0,999)
   - Each subnode d has the following elements:
       - e1
       - e2
       - e3
       - e11
1 Source node a should create 1 target node c.
All numbers in all subnodes b of one source node a should be mapped to the e1, e2,...e11 elements of the target structure. As one target node d can only contain up to eleven numbers, there must be several d nodes.
I have already tried to create a UDF, but it does not work.
Any experts who would like to share their knowledge?

Hello again,
meanwhile I have worked hard on it and I have found the solution (just one UDF (queue function) which gets the article numbers as well as constant(targetField). So the UDF covers the creation of the "groups" as well as the mapping of the article numbers.
It was really interesting and it made me ambitious to find the solution myself I do not have access to the system today, but I will post my solution as far as I have access again. Maybe you still want to search for a solution? It really may be fun, just like some kind of a puzzle game.
In order to make it more clear, here comes the source and target structure with an example. Let me once more explain it: In the source, there are positions, each with unlimited article numbers. Each position will create a targetPosition. The node "targetPosition" has the subNode "articlenrs" (unbounded). Articlenrs has 11 differnet elements, calles a1, a2, a3, ..., a11. That means, all article numbers from a source postion should be mapped to "groups of 11 target article numbers". Please be aware the there are 11 differnet target fields for article numbers: a1, a2, ... a11.
I think that' why the solution of Liang Ji and Rohit Kalugade will not work...
