Captivate 2 Quiz Problem 2

We have our quizzes set to place users who do not score a certain percentage on the quiz back to the beginning to retake the quiz. Several people who have "failed" quizzes and been put back at the start to retake the quizzes have then been "Frozen" at mid point and unable to complete the quizzes to the end. What could be causing these "Freeze-Outs" and how do we correct them?

Hi Alan
Try opening your Advanced Interaction dialog (F9).
Specifically, look for Click Box objects. I'm guessing you have 30
or so before the question slides. You need to turn reporting off
for these beasties, as they are probably being factored into the
mix.

  • Problem with registering Captivate Quiz score in LMS

    We are using Integrity e-Learning’s WBT manager for our
    LMS. We have been using Captivate (SWF files) for several months to
    show simulations for software. Generally we are quite happy with
    the software.
    We have been able to easily create a quiz (a Captivate
    generated SWF file) and access it through the LMS (using a HTML
    frameset), unfortunately we are having trouble passing the
    numerical score the quiz generates to the LMS.
    When a student takes a Captivate Quiz (bound into a SWF
    file), the final score displays on the final frame of the SWF file,
    but is not getting passed to the LMS. All the other data seems to
    be fine. So far we are only viewing status using the Lesson
    Progress Report, which indicates “no score (n/a)”. In
    this case we are embedding the SWF file into a HTML page contained
    in a frameset.
    We have been able to get a score successfully passed to the
    LMS if we link directly to the .swf file, bypassing HTML
    altogether, unfortunately we also get a warning about using Flash
    Player and multiple warnings about downloading the
    “aicc_int.asp” file.

  • Error when posting captivate quiz results

    I would like to posting Captivate quiz results to Acrobat.com. I created an account, but when I click Post Results and log in, I get a 'Send' button option. When I select 'Send', the message 'Unknown Error' appears and the results do not get posted.
    Any thoughts?

    I am also still having the same problem, so it looks like this still hasn't been fixed.
    Posting results worked fine but lately everyone is getting the unknown error which is embarrassing when you are pushing directors to complete this only to be told it isn't working and wasted their time.
    Sort it out Adobe!

    I'm interested in using FLEX to create a widget that I load INTO a Captivate project. How would that change this approach?

    I've created the var_text.swf by creating a CP5 project that has the variable with a pre-defined value, and a button to set a new value.
    Unfortunately, the project doesn't appear to load due to the errors present.
    If you could find time to post a couple sample files, it may help us beginners!

  • Can you submit a User Variable instead of the Captivate Quiz Score variable to an LMS?

    I am attempting to create two quizzes in a course that has branching.  I know that Captivate only allows for one quiz if you are using Question type slides, but I am using a simulation to check the knowledge of a process.  I want to report one of the simulation completions depending on which branch the user goes to (different branches for different products).  How or is it even possible to submit user variables in place of the Captivate Quiz Score variable, the time in the course variable, and the Pass or Fail status to an LMS?

    Sadly, I am using Captivate 5.5.  I was thinking it should be possible to use Javascript to be able to take a specific variable and submit it to the LMS in place of Captivate's Quiz variables.  I just don't know Javascript well enough to know how to do that.

    So I figured out I made a stuipd mistake and mixed up acrobat.com and adobe.com. I kept trying to connect to Adobe.com, NOT acrobat.com.
    Once I connect to Acrobat.com (and made an ID) it worked.
    I now can connect to Acrobat.com.
    However, I still am unable to see my results.
    If I try to do a quiz from my local machine I am prompted with the "Post Results" button at the end.  When I go to production I do not want to have this button, I would rather have the quiz automatically posted.  For now, this will work for the testing phase I have working on.
    When I run my quiz in IE, IE hangs when I press Post Results and put my name and password in.  It never completes.  I have to kill the process.
    When I run the quiz from File > Preview > In Web Browser (or F12) it seems to work.  I get prompted with my ID I put my info in and it says it has been posted, but I never see any results.  This is similar to another post I saw here...

    Then I saw another post that said you need to modify the flash settings on the machine where you are posting.  You can do this via a URL link...

    When I went to this link the first time I only specified the actually acrobat.com.  This didn't seem to help.  But them I specified the actually .swf file.  This made things appear to work.  I *was* able to press post, put login info in and then submit the info.  This worked without having the do the preview from within Captivate.  But I still do not have any data within the Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyzer.
    If I do get some results somehow, I would still like to make the quiz such that the username and password are not prompted at the end and that the results are sent to acrobat.com automatically.

    Question: I have purchased a Adobe Captivate 4 license and I have downloaded  the setup file from adobe site and installed in a x86 windows XP machine  which is joined in a windows 2003 server ADS.At first I installed as  trial version once installed I provided the key after all a windows will  come up with asking the license agreement I click accept but Nothing  will happen nothing will run in the system, also I cant uninstall when  clicking uninstall nothing is happen .I have tried installing by  creating a folder under the program files as adobe2 then I can start the  program but after a while or afte many time but this doesn't help .I  have the same problem in other machines too. can any one help me?r a day  it will again as the license agreement windows and I selected accept  then the same problem I have tried reinstalling

  • Adobe presenter 8 quiz problem

    The default option for my quizzes had the font too small to see the text of the questions. When I made the font of the questions larger, the circles for clicking, the letters of the questions, and the question texts all ran into each other.
    So I have a question:
    1) Is there a way to change the theme or profile--I cannot tell which--on just the quiz questions? And if so, how?

    I have changed the size of the font and when I do that, the box to 
    check, the letter that numbers the answer, and the question all run 
    together. It appears that the size of the letters have been enlarged 
    but not the spaces between them. Any ideas?
    I think it is possible that i could change this all by inserting a new 
    master slide into the presentation before the quiz, but I cannot seem 
    to do that.

  • Captivate 7 Probleme auf dem Mac

    Ich versuche seit einiger Zeit den Umgang mit captivate 7 auf meinem Mac. Dabei muss ich immer wieder feststellen, das das Programm offensichtliche voller Bugs steckt. Wie sieht es bei euch im Forum mit ähnlichen Erfahrungen aus?
    Ich arbeite auf einem MacBook Pro 2,4 GHz Intel Core i7 mit 16 GB Arbeitsspeicher und Adobe Captivate 7
    Problem 1: Aggregatorprojekt funktioniert nicht.
    Ich habe ein Aggregatorprojekt erstellt, das auf 3 swf-Dateien zugreift. Wenn das Projekt gestartet wird, spielt die erste swf-Datei ab und hält am Ende an. Durch betätigen eines Buttons (dieser hat die Funktion "weiter") soll das Projekt mit der zweiten swf-Datei weiter machen. Allerdings funktioniert das nicht! Das Programm wird beendet.
    Problem 2: Abspielen von Videos auf der Bühne
    Ich habe ein Video (Flash Video) auf der Bühne platziert. Wenn ich jetzt den Abspielknopf in der Zeitleiste drücke wird das Video verzehrt angezeigt, man erkennt nichts, dadurch kann ich natürlich auch keine weiteren Objekte vernünftig auf das Video ausrichten :-(
    Nur über die Funktion "Vorschau" kann man die Folie mit dem platzierten Video ansehen - das kann doch wohl nicht sein.

    Welche Versionen benutzen Sie denn, Heinz-Günther?
    Was ist auf dem Mac installiert (iPhoto, MacOS) und was auf dem iPad?
    Ist die Signatur (iPad, iOS 5.1.1, iPad3 32GB Wifi & 3,5G) die aktuelle Version?  Was war installiert, als alles noch geklappt hat?
    Und um welche Art von Verbindung geht es? Photo Stream? iTunes Photo sync? Wir müssen es etwas genauer wissen, um zu sehen, was das Problem sein könnte.

  • Generate Report Troubles with Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyzer

    I'm new to Captivate 5 and am trying to utilize the Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyzer.
    I've enabled report for my project to Acrobat.com and configured as instructed in the online help.  The Post Result button appears on the Summary page and appears to work for the two colleagues taking the quiz.  But when I click the Generate Report button in Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyzer, I get the message "Data is not present on local file system, downloading course data," but nothing occurs - no course data appears from the colleagues who are helping me test the quiz.
    I'm able to sign in to the Quiz Results Analyzer and it does display the organization, department and course name, but no course data (see image below).
    What am I doing incorrectly that keeps this from generating a course report?
    Any help will be deeply appreciated.

    Your solution worked at first.  I went in, took the course, and then went into Analyzer and was able to Generate Report and look at my stats.  However, I had a colleague take the course.  She did and posted the results and received a "successful" posting message.  Then, I went back into Analyzer and clicked the Generate Report button to see how the system worked when there was new learner data.  A "Checking for new data" played for a half hour before I finally gave up.
    I know that you were able to reproduce this issue where in clicking the Generate Report a second time brings up the loading animation that stays forever and that you were investigating the issue, but I thought I should post here just in case anyone else has a solution.

    Hi All,
    We have seen people requesting for identifying the Question from with in Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyser. In what way do you think Question needs to be reperesented within Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyser?
    Will it useful if we show the actual thumbnail of the question itself?
    Or just showing the Question text will suffice?

    Maybe you'd be better off turning off the shuffling of answers (given that it fouls up the reliability of the variable representing what you want) and use Question Pools instead.
    This would allow you to get some randomisation of the questions (which is what the answer shuffling is sort of trying to accomplish) but you'd be tracking actual questions.  You could have a number of variations of the same question in the pool.
    Does that get you any closer to your goal?

    I am using Acrobat.com to track my quiz results. I currently have 26 modules, however 5 of them will not show results in the Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyzer. I have tried the quizzes myself and posted the results, however it is still not showing results for the 5 courses. Any suggestions as to why 5 of the courses aren't generating?
