Captivate 4 dossier localisation

D'apres la documentation le dossier localisation devrais etre la :
Localisation de la barre de lecture Flash
L’anglais est la langue par défaut des barres de lecture Flash. Adobe Captivate installe également des barres de lecture Flash traduites en français, en allemand, en italien, en espagnol et en japonais. Ces barres de lectures Flash sont stockées dans le dossier :\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 4\Gallery\PlaybackControls\SwfBars\Localisation\.
nous utilison la version francais de captivate et le dossier n'est pas la

Lorsque vous copiez l’une de ces barres de lecture Flash dans le dossier C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 4\Gallery\PlaybackControls\SwfBars\, les versions localisées apparaissent dans le menu déroulant Barre de lecture de la boîte de dialogue Editeur d’habillage. Les infobulles de ces barres de lecture s’affichent dans la langue sélectionnée.
Vous pouvez également ajouter une nouvelle langue si celle que vous désirez n’est pas disponible. Le fichier de barres de lectures SWF par défaut est stocké dans le dossier C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 4\Templates\PlaybackFLA.

Hello,
Besides the Help, I do not see immediately other documentation. Once there was a blog post on the official Captivate blog about localising the labels in the TOC, but that was still for CP4 (works for CP5) as well.

Trouble with PDF created with Captivate 6

I have been using Captivate since version 4 and this is the first time I have had this problem. The generated PDF (which is the expected file size) displays a blank page with only the TOC button which sits there flashing rapidly. I have tried changing the targeted Flash Player version without any luck. Previews and HTML output is fine and so is the .exe file. I am using Adobe Acrobat 11 on a 64-bit Windows system. This is a fairly small project with about 15 slides and some FLV videos. I have no problems with Distiller with any of my other programs (FrameMaker, LiveCycle, Photoshop etc.). Any settings I can fiddle around with?
Any ideas?

To anyone else having a similar problem: the solution (while not ideal, since it requires disabling a desired feature) is to uncheck the "Show TOC" box in the TOC settings. To reiterate what was discussed in the forum, the problem apppears to be localised to Acrobat Pro/Reader XI. So far there is no resolution from Adobe.

Localize interaction widgets in captivate 6

I'm using an English installation of Cp6 and would like to incorporate some of the standard captivate interaction widgets into lessons for high school students. However these lessons will have to be fully in Dutch and all of the widget parts need to be localized. The foremost parts (strings) can be edited into the right language from the design mode. But there are still some parts that can not be changed; for example in the word search interaction (see picture). Since the fla sources are not available to me these strings can not be changed. My question now is if I obtain a license for the Dutch version of Cp6 will i also get a fully translated set of interaction widgets? Or are there other work arounds I could use?

There is no Dutch version of Captivate and localisation has never been considered very important IMO. Have been complaining already a lot about that. There are no Dutch TTS, translation of the TOC is cumbersome and translating those interactions is not possible. Please, add your voice to me and other international users (Dutch is also my native tongue) by entering feature requests. Only the requests that do get a lot of support will make it in future versions.

My workaround is to add instructions in Dutch, either with a previous slide, or with a text caption or using Voice Over

Captivate 4 - Localize the Flash Player

Hi,
I'm a new user of Captivate 4. I've created several tutorials in Captivate 4 and need to localize them into French. I've attempted to follow the steps outlined in the Help document to add a French Play bar (e.g. CPPlaybar_FRA.swf). However, when I check my Captivate files I cannot find the Localisation folder identified in the Help document.
Do I need to re-install Captivate 4? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Indian fonts in captivate 7

We have been localising projects and captions using export captions and closed captions, getting them translated and importing them back into captivate 7. Most of the languages have been successful except for Hindi. How do we get hindi to display correctly, its correct in the word document but not in captivate.

In captivate version 7, I am localizing an english quiz in Russian . I can import the project captions and closed captions in the Russian translation and this works but there is one word that won't translate which is the review area button.
Any suggestions greatly welcome!

Lilybiri may be talking about this blog post that offers a solution for localising parts of the TOC that cannot be changed to match a language.

There is no mention in the blog about the dialog you are interested in because it was only added in a later version of Captivate. But perhaps one of the Adobe reps here would know if it would work. You would need to know the specific name of the internal string variable that needs to be changed.

Interactions will not insert in Captivate 6

I am running a trial version of Captivate 6. When I try to insert interactions a screen of all available interactions appear but I cannot select any of them. If I try they disappear from the screen. Any thoughts.

Not all the present static widgets work fine in HTML5 output...
Do you mean that all widgets will be in the Interaction dialog box? I would prefer not, because even for the moment there are so many different objects there:
customizable interactions (accordion, tabs, ....) where you can adapt a lot, like colors, cnntent (audio, text, images); only one per slide can be inserted; not 'interactive' in the sense of interactive widgets (another confusion) since no reporting is possible
game-like interactions that have only limited customization (mostly only text - no colors, background...) like hangman, jigsaw.. same limitation: one per slide; maybe those are fun, but prettty useless (no variables, no possibility to include them in an assessment, and most important not customisable nor localisable)
static widgets mostly with variables (checkboxes, radiobuttons, countdown, hourglass...); more than one can be inserted, variables have to be created separately, some have limited customization, others have almost none but they give you some control (due to variables), not enough IMO (see extended widgets by Jim Leichliter that were based on textarea, checkboxes, radiobuttons); by using advanced actions those widgets, although static, can be used in custom questions because of those variables.

Problème d'icône de dossiers

Bonjour à toutes et à tous !
En fait j'ai un petit soucis depuis cette après-midi avec mon Mac. Quand je l'ai démarré, certains de mes dossiers n'avaient plus leurs icônes de dossiers bleus. Ils ont des pages blanches à la place. Alors que certains sont toujours en bleus. J'ai essayé de supprimer les dossiers et de les recréer mais rien n'y fait. De plus, dés que je veux créer un nouveau dossier, il me met directement cette page blanche... Autre précision : quand je vais dans "lire les informations", je vois comme aperçu le fameux dossier bleu alors que sur le bureau ce n'est pas celui-ci... Je suis désemparée

This can happen when the LNK extension on the PC has become damaged.
On an English localisation of Windows, I'd try the LNK registry patch from the following document:
File Association Fixes for Windows 7
Unfortunately, I'm not sure how that would work on a French localisation of Windows.
So, it might be best to doublecheck over at Microsoft Answers before you proceed:

Installation Captivate 5 après version test Captivate 4

Bonjour à tous,
Il y a quelques temps, j'ai installé la version "free trial" 4 de Captivate. L'essai étant convaincant, j'ai acheté Captivate 5.
1/ J'ai installé Captivate 5 par l'intermédiaire du DVD
2/ Pour gagner de la place, j'ai voulu désinstaller Captivate4
3/ J'ai constaté qu'il y avait deux programmes avec le mot Captivate4 qui s'affichaient dans l'utilitaire de désinstallation, j'ai enlevé le plus petit d'abord et ensuite, lorsque j'ai voulu désinstaller le principal, il m'a été impossible de le faire : complètement inopérant, aucune fenêtre ne s'ouvrait.
4/ J'ai également désinstallé Captivate 5 pensant qu'il gênait peut-être la désinstallation de la version 4.
5/ Je suis revenue à la désinstallation de Captivate4, mais toujours pas possible et le fait de cliquer sur désinstaller ne faisait rien.
6/ Ne voyant plus comment faire, j'ai décidé de supprimer le dossier Captivate4 directement dans le dossier "programmes" Oui, je sais, je n'aurai pas dû.... trop tard...
7/ J'ai voulu réinstaller Captivate5 à partir du DVD, mais là une fenêtre apparaît et m'informe que "le programme d'installation n'a pas pu s'initialiser. Téléchargez Adobe Support Advisor pour indentifier le problème".
Mais lorsque l'utilitaire Support Advisor a fini d'analyser mon pc, la réponse apparaît : "Le module n'a trouvé aucun problème à signaler pour le fichier journal sélectionné, si les problèmes persistent dans cette application, contactez l'assistance d'adobe."
5/ J'ai appelé l'assistance technique d'Adobe pour qu'ils m'aident à régler le problème mais comme je ne peux plus désinstaller correctement il m'a été répondu qu'ils ne pouvaient pas faire grand chose car si je lançais leur outil dont je ne me souviens pas du nom exact "nettoyeur de registre" cela perturberait le fonctionnement de la CS5 qui est installée sur mon poste.
Ils m'ont conseillé Cleaner / Copier DVD sur le bureau et lancer le setup à partir de là / désactiver l'antivirus (ce qui était fait), bref tout ceci n'a pas réglé mon problème et je ne peux toujours pas installer mon logiciel.
Qui peut m'aider ? Merci pour vos réponses.

Spécifier une localisation pour l'application Reader pour Macintosh

Dans Reader 10.0, il semble possible de modifier la localisation de l'application qui est, par défaut, le dossiers «Applications», mais le choix est en gris, indiquant que ce n'est pas possible de la modifier.
Comment puis-je faire cela ? Merci à l'avance.

Je dois vous dire que c'est tellement compliqué, qu'il faudrait un forum pour aider les gens à naviguer dans les forums. Il y a trop de choix. Il faudrait certainement simplifier cela. J'ai mis au moins 10 minutes, pour m'inscrire sur le site global et ensuite pour comprendre que mon inscription ne me permettait pas d'utiliser les forums. Une petite suggestion qui se veut constructive ....

Si vous avez 10.6.6 ou plus haut, alors iTunes devrait télécharger n'importe quoi sur votre Mac automatiquement après achat.
Ceci se produira même si vous l'avez acheté de votre iPhone. Le contrôle iTunes pour le veiller n'est pas là, et synchronisation votre dispositif juste pour s'assurer.

I have a custom menu button. When the user clicks I want to show TOC, ( I see there is a state to show TOC) but when the user clicks the same menu button again on that slide how can I hide the TOC. ie toggle between hide and show.

My animated gif keeps pausing in captivate and flash

Hi guys, thanks for your help.
I made an animated gif in Photoshop CS4 and inserted it as an animation into captivate 6. The animation works (I played it several times by opening it with internet explorer and safari). But when I open it in Captivate the animation goes black for a split second-several times, before it reappears-several times. It gives it almost a "reloading" or pause look when I play it. The same in flash, but in Adobe Flash CS4 Professional the timeline shows black dots once in a while, as you can see in the screen shot below.
See those black dots? I will insert a picture of what happens, when the player lands on one of those black dots:
It's the same animation, but only shows a little. Like I said, it plays fine when I open it with an internet browser, it plays fine when I play it in photoshop, but it just won't work with flash or captivate.

No problem. Building a simple animation in Flash isn't that bad. You could save each "frame" as an image from PhotoShop and then import these into Flash and place one frame at the time on a keyframe in the flash timeline (press F6 to insert a keyframe).
If you want your animation to loop then you don't have to do anything as this is the default behavior. If you want it to stop at the last frame you insert a command in ActionScript to stop it. Select the last keyframe and hit F9 and type stop() in the ActionScript window.

How do I create multiple TEBs with one submit button on one page in Captivate 7

I've read other posts on this topic (which refer primarily to earlier versions of Captivate) and am still at a loss as to how to put multiple text entry boxes on a page with one submit button. Here's my scenario:
I am creating test questions.
Each test question has multiple text entry boxes (for numbers only).
Student should be able to enter numbers into the textboxes in any order.
Then there is one Submit button that should initiate validating all the text entries, and move to a scoring page (so I can test it). (What would be best is if this button not only did the above, but also submitted scores to the LMS. But that is not my question at this time.)
I'd like this question to be set up as a template so that I can duplicate it, be able to add or delete text boxes and change the values required in the text boxes.
Here is an image of a sample question page with multiple TEBs. The yellow boxes tell the student where they need to enter text:

I think the problem here is that Arlhoolie wants all of the different TEBs to behave as if they were part of a single interaction that submits only ONE result to the quiz. Using multiple TEBs in Captivate means that you have multiple scored objects and therefore multiple results being submitted to the quiz.
If you want a single Success or Failure result submitted to the quiz based on the results from multiple interactive objects then there really is no simple way to do it. But you could try using the Infosemantics Interactive Master widget to combine all the TEBs as slave objects that report to the Master Widget, which then reports a single score to the quiz based on the results from the slave objects.
