Captivate 4: How to place objects in layers above swf animation?

Hello,
Is it possible to place an object in a layer over a Flash animation (in a lower layer)? Whenever I try to do this, and then try to play the slide in preview, the Flash animation always "covers" the content in the above layers. Any ideas?

About my first problem :
The first time I click the open Button, only the Hide button appears. Then I click this hide button, to hide the hide button (the hide button hide the swf and itself).
Then I click again to the open buton, and this time, the swf and the hide button appear.

[CS4][JS] How to place objects in different layout

Hi,
Currently we are working on the A4 layout size of InDesign documents, after page finalized, those articles is going to publish in both A4 and A3 document.
The question is how can we convert the A4 sized document into A3 sized document via java script.
I have tried to copy and paste the frames from A4 document to A3 document, but the frame sizes is not matching (calcuation of Geometric bounds is not so easy) and the Auto Layout option is not helping and its not resizing the text frames.
The A3 sized document have the same paragraph/character styles but with different font size to match the A4 pagination.
Any idea how to handle this in scripting.

But could you not just export as a pdf and then place those on an A3 page layout

I have "file.dcr" and run it on web by <object> tag. In
flash player("file.swf") i can put object above it but in shockwave
i can not.
I try to use z-index but not work. How to put object above
shockwave format?

My first post here , I hope one can help.
I want to make a PDF with some text/content on top, and swf animation in the background - below content.
So I place SWF file into InDesign, bring it to the layer below texts, then I make spread preview. Works great, I have a nice photos in the background changing one to another [swf animation] and on the top texts about these photos.
Then I export it to interactive PDF and it just doesn't work this way. Animation displayes always on top, covering content.
Is there a way to have a movie in Interactive PDF covered partially by some other elements or it will be always on top, and to achieve this effect I need to export my inDesign project to SWF?

Dead space showing up in print preview; can't place objects in it

hi -- Somehow, I've managed to get what I'll call a "dead space" in between my last page footer and my report footer. The design view looks completely normal: page footer A, page footer B, and report footer. None are suppressed.
However, when I go to the print preview, what I have is: page footer A, page footer B, a dead space, and then the report footer. The dead space looks like a section, in that the far left of the preview shows lines (like section dividers) both above and below the dead space. However, when I right click on the dead space, I don't get a Section Menu; I also don't get a section name when the mouse hovers over that dead space. I can't place objects in the dead space.
It wouldn't be a huge deal except for the fact that the report is long enough that the dead space causes it to overflow onto a second page, which isn't acceptable.
How can I get rid of this thing? I really don't want to recreate the report. It's quite complex.

That's interesting. I've never heard of this rogue spacing issue.
Why don't you try insertting the following in the Page Footer B Suppress formula.
Not OnLastRecord

How to resize objects simultaneously

I originally posted a question in the past regarding how to transform objects simultaneously in Illustrator, and the answer had to do with using "transform each" in the object menu. I am trying to do the same in Indesign, but since there is no "transform each" option (or maybe I just missed it, or there is something similar), I am looking for another way..
I have arrows heads in a diagram that need to be scaled down to about 50% their current size. The problem with scaling is that when all objects are selected, they are treated as though they are one large object, and then scaled so that they all meet in the center (ie. at 50% their size, they all shift together as a photo would scale). Is there any way to do this so that the arrow heads stay in place after each one is scaled up or down?

Captivate 7: How to troubleshoot video not playing.

I've received MP4 files from a client and converted them to FLV. I created a blank project, added a Content-Center slide. Loaded an FLV video file. Previewed in Captivate no problem. Published and reviewed no problem. Load the SWF file to the company Intranet and the slide displays but the video object is not included. What am I doing wrong?

Don't assume anything. You need to CHECK where the video is located.
You also seem to be assuming that since you uploaded the SWF file that your video is somewhere inside the SWF and must have therefore arrived at the intended destination.
This is also incorrect because Captivate does not encapsulate videos INSIDE SWF files. All videos are externalized nowadays. So if you upload an SWF, that's all you've uploaded. No video.
Additionally, Captivate SWFs require the HTM and JavaScript files that Captivate also publishes in order for everything to work. If you do not upload all required files, your content will not play properly for end users.
I'm hoping by "company intranet" you mean an actual web server, not just a company LAN? And if you're uploading to a Dropbox account, you may also run into issues with playback unless your business partners download the entire set of required files to a folder on their PC, AND make sure that folder is set up as a trusted location in their Flash Global Security settings:

Open as Smart Object as Layers in Photoshop?

I apologize if this has been addressed already, but I am looking for a way to open Smart Objects as LAYERS. I do compositing work and would like to retain as much information as possible by using Smart Objects PRIOR to going into Photoshop. My current workflow is to highlight the photos in Lightroom CC > Open as Smart Object in Photoshop CC > Manually Drag layers from each open file in Photoshop to main PSD.
Edit - Opening as Layers in Photoshop then applying the Camera Raw Filter is not a good work around, information is lost.

Yes. you have to go back to that original file and apply the changes directly to it. In a previous post, Jeff Schewe told you of a shortcut to achieve that:

Two ideas I can think of:
1) Create multiple pivot tables and then display them one under the other
2) Create multiple measure columns such as "male_amt", "female_amt", "white_amt", "asian_amt", "black_amt", etc. for all the columns you need. Then you could simple stack them in a single pivot table.
Option #2 might give you the prettiest results - but also requires a lot more maintenance (for instance, if you reclassify ethnic groups, you'd have to go through the reports to add additional metric columns).

I'd love help with the problem of why I only one track seems to accept clips to play. When I drag them to other tracks or create a track by dragging the clips are grayed out and won't play, but if I drag them to the one track where they're blue they play.
