Captivate 5 - import swf "double animation" appear in browser.

When playing a swf file that was imported into Captivate 5, a double animation appears (the file plays twice.)  However, this effect ONLY happens when played in the browser IE 8. If tested in Captivate, the swf plays only once .
I've made several attempts for correct his problem with no success.
Thanks for your help in advance.

Did you upgrade your projects from Captivate 4 to Captivate 5?
There may be some objects in there that are AS2 and you need to get rid of them and replace with AS3 equivalents.  Try replacing your Skin, Preloaders, and any AS2 animations.
Captiate 5 supports ONLY AS3.

  • Importing SWF/FLA animated intro...

    I created an intro animation in Flash 8 to use as the intro
    for our captivate classes.
    The animation does not play well, it skips forward through
    70% of the animation, and only plays one of the audio pieces.
    I dont seem to be doing it right. Also I created the
    animation as the same widthxheight as the captivate video but it
    seems to be resizing it. Could this be the problem?
    Thanks.

    Hi there. There are just too many variables to do more than
    give you wild guesses. But maybe with some more information ...
    We don't speak "does not play well"
    , so you'll have to be more specific please.
    When you say it "skips forward through 70% of the animation",
    I assume you mean that the Flash 8 - generated intro only shows the
    last 30%??
    And about those "audio pieces" that it only "plays one" ...
    how many separate audio files are included in the Flash Intro SWF?
    And where are the missing ones time-lined to play (in Flash)?
    Open the FLA for the intro and double-check (in Flash 8) what
    Flash version you specified when you published the SWF from Flash.
    That could be the problem ... try Flash version 7 (if you already
    output as version 8) to see if that helps. Let us know what that
    does ...
    In the meantime, the answer to your other question is "no",
    the Flash SWF size shouldn't have any affect at all, because as a
    Flash-generated SWF it would be vector-based, so reducing or
    enlarging it should be okay ... unlike Captivate SWFs which are
    raster-based (bit-mapped) and aren't as "scalable" as
    vector-graphics.
    Hope this helps somewhat.

  • Flash .swf file not appearing in browser when publishing from iWeb 3.02

    I have been working on a site for the last couple of months that i created in iWeb 2.0 and had successfully had small flash movies that I embedded via html snippets from code provided by numerous sources and youtube videos demonstrating how to get flash movies into one's site.
    The url is
    www.almafoods.com
    Today i upgraded to 3.02 and had to make a change to the home page. The domain opened up fine with all the HTML code and .swf on the page exactly as I had it in version 2.0
    When I now publish to a folder, first of all it doesn't copy over the .swf file unless I create a link to the file, but even when I upload all the directories to my ISP's remote server, the movie isn't not showing up in the browser. The html code file and .swf file are in their correct directories on my ISP's remote server
    I'm baffled as to what is going on here as its the exact same domain that worked perfectly in 2.0 and this has peed me off no end
    Does anyone have any suggestions or encountered the same problem in 3.02?
    Any advice would be very much appreciated

    Your .swf files are in the same folder as the widget-markup files.
    Keep your custom files OUTSIDE the folder with the sitename iWeb creates.
    iWeb will overwrite everything when it needs to do that, wiping out your custom files.
    Put the files in a separate folder and determine the link to these files.
    Read this : Using the iWeb HTML Snippet
    Besides that, to display these tiny pictures I wouldn't use Flash.

  • Captivate 5 swf gallery animations looping e.g. wrong mark

    Hi,  I have used the wrong and correct marks from the Captivate swf animations gallery extensively in a Captivate 4 project.  I have upgraded the project and now these animations loop rather than stop once the mark is drawn.  I tried replacing them with the swf files in the Captivate 5 gallery and they have the same problem.  They are still Actionscript 2... so perhaps that is the problem?  The 'loop' checkbox in the Captivate Properties is shaded out.
    Does anyone know of a fix this this?
    Thankyou.

    Hi,
    So, do you mean if you use the "Wrong Mark.swf" from the following location, even that does not help:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 5\Gallery\SWF Animation\Others
    Thanks,

  • Import a .swf 3D animation in Java

    Dear all,
    I would like to import an .swf 3D animation, which was built in Adobe Flash.
    Is it possible? Is any way to tranform this in Java like type? I have read about the JavaSWF2, I have downloaded some samples, but I cannot transform a .swf 3D animation into e.g. into Java Frames.
    Otherwise, do I have to build this 3D animation as a Java 3D object, writing code from scratch?
    I would like also to ask if anyone has constructed a 3D animation using JavaFX. I read very few things, but I did not find something related to 3D.
    I really appreciate any help.
    Regards.

  • Edge Animate animations appearing on top of everything in Captivate 8 project

    When I create an animation in Adobe Edge Animate, and then insert that animation into my Captivate 8 project, it appears on top of everything: TOC, glossary, interactions, etc. I've clearly reordered the objects in the timeline so that the OAM file will appear on the bottom, but still when I publish the project, the animation appears on top of everything. Why? Is this a known bug in Captivate 8? Maybe I'm not doing something right Animate, but this is extremely irritating. How can I fix this?

    Hi bs234906
    I am having the exact same issue so not sure if it something we're doing wrong or it is a bug? I think it may have something to do with the <div>'s inside of Edge but not sure? Would love to find out the answer.

  • Loss of animation when importing .swf to AE

    I've made an animation in Flash (CS3) of a character who raises it's arm with a duration of 4 seconds.  I'm trying to add this animation over live movie footage by importing it to AE (CC 2014).  However, the animation is static after importing it.  The character is imported, but the animation is lost.

    from After Effects Help regarding SWF import:
    "Interactive content and scripted animation are not retained. Animation defined by keyframes in the main, top-level movie is retained."

  • Imported SWF actionscript not working in _root movie...

    Hello.
    I will tell you below what I want to accomplish, then I'll
    tell you what I have done (that didn't work). I'm hoping that
    someone here can tell me where I went wrong, and also how to fix it
    and pull off what I'm trying to do. Thanks!...
    WHAT I WANT TO DO:
    I want to have a Captivate SWF loaded into the bottom half of
    a main Flash "shell" SWF, and then when the Captivate SWF is done
    playing, a text field on the main "shell" SWF puts the word "DONE!"
    in it.
    WHAT I HAVE DONE (that didn't work):
    I have a Flash SWF that loads a Captivate3 SWF in its bottom
    half (that works fine). The top half of the main Flash movie has a
    dynamic text field on it called "doneText_txt".
    I then made another SWF that is just 10x10px and all that is
    on it is ActionScript on the first frame that says:
    _root.doneText_txt.text = "DONE!";
    I then went on the last slide/frame of my Captivate project
    (in Captivate) and did an "Insert-->Animation" to insert that
    small 10x10 SWF onto that final slide.
    When I load that main "shell" and then the Captivate project
    loads at the bottom and finishes playing, nothing is displayed in
    the "doneText_txt" text box.
    THINGS I NOTICED:
    When I imported the SWF into Captivate, it was transparent
    (didn't show up). I adjusted the transparency on it (in Captivate)
    to both 0% and 100%, and it still didn't show up. I thought that it
    may be just because it had nothing on it (just the default white
    background), so I went back into Flash and re-exported the 10x10
    SWF after filling it with black. I re-imported it into Captivate,
    and still it didn't show up. Like, I figured you'd see a black
    square on the slide. It was on the timeline, and I could move it
    around on the slide, but it was just a clear transparent box. This
    made me think that the reason the "DONE!" text wasn't getting
    passed was because there was a problem with the SWF even being on
    the slide in the first place.
    Any ideas???? Or, if there's another way to pull off what I'm
    trying to do, that would be fine with me as well. Thanks!!!

    loading the Captivate project from my main Flash SWF, then that
    main Flash SWF is the "_root" no matter what, right? Or am I wrong
    about that???

  • Probs with imported swf file

    Hi
    I have imported a swf file which is displayed correctly
    within the import dialog. After clicking OK only the placeholder of
    the imported animation is seen. When running the captivate movie
    the swf is not diplayed. When setting the swf to synchronize to
    movie all frames of the swf are displayed but don't stop where they
    are supposed to do. Unfortunately this swf file was exported from
    the authoring system opus xe so I don't have a chance to edit it in
    flash itself.
    Maybe someone knows a solution for this prob?
    T.

    It sounds like the swf file may not be 30 frames per second.
    I'm using v1.01 and I've had a lot of problems with swf files
    loading consistently. A few times when I positioned the swf file at
    the very beginning of the Captivate timeline it wouldn't load.
    Moving it a half second up on the timeline fixed the
    problem.

  • Import SWF or FLV Jobs

    Hi, I search a way to import FLV-jobs, created with Flash
    CS3.
    Problem: I don't find any way to export a Flash as a FLV-file
    - it takes lot of options, but nut a FLV-suffix.
    Secend Question: Who can I import SWF-files into Captivate?
    The only option I find is "Insert/Animation", which is used for
    animated buttons.
    Thanks a lot for any advice, Wolvo

    Hi Wolvo
    Insert > Animation is what you are looking for. It should
    allow you to insert the following file types:
    * SWF
    * GIF
    * AVI
    * FLA (.FLA is the Flash source file format)
    Seems odd that Flash doesn't have the capability to create
    .FLV format. I'm wondering if you maybe just need some sort of an
    additional file you can install to make it do this.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Imported swf

    Hi,
    I am hoping someone will be able to help here. I have a
    10-slide presentation in Captivate 3 and the first slide is a flash
    animation I created in Flash CS3. When I test the project using the
    preview option - In Web Browser everything works fine and as
    expected.
    My problems start when I publish my project. I have tried
    swf, exe, with and without preloaders; I add a blank slide in right
    at the start to see if that was the problem again with and without
    a preloader. The imported swf does not play no matter what I do.
    After a while though the click button become active and when I
    click it moves on to the next slide. I just need to work out why my
    first slide does not play correct, as this is a key slide.
    I would appreciate any help in resolving this issue.
    Kind regards

    Hi Dave
    I know you have already found your answer, but I have a
    question and/or comment.
    When you published, were you certain to include the
    additional .SWF among the files on the server? If not, that
    probably explains why it failed. By changing to Flash 6, you caused
    the .SWF to be embedded inside the main Captivate movie, hence no
    additional file to ensure you distribute.
    Cheers... Rick

  • How to insert AS to fix audio in imported swf ?

    Thanks to Whyves... This previous post seems to have a solution, Im just not sure where i create layers in my Captivate 4 file? As I go into Project > Actions >???
    Cheers

    Re: Captivate 4, interaction SWF using XML and the Reviewer tool Problem
    Part 1:
    Found a way to stop the imported SWF audio when a user switches slides. The following AS3 code was inserted into the imported swf:
    My actions layer:
    root.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, checkSlideInfo);
    My functions layer:
    function checkSlideInfo(e:Event):void {
        /* if user moves to next or previous slide in Captivate, stops the interaction audio */
        if(root.cpInfoCurrentSlide == 4) {
            null
        } else {
            /* stops audio */
            if (savedChannel!=null) {
                savedChannel.stop();
            /* resets interaction */
            loadContentToBox(contentBox.contentText, instructions);
    So, for those trying to find a way to stop their audio from imported swfs, there's one piece to the puzzle!!! You CAN stop your imported swf audios or animation audios using the above function in AS3!
    BTW, it would be nice if Adobe would create a book on Essentials to Advanced Actions, just a suggestion since it is somewhat of a programming language and it would be nice to have samples and more informative tutorials to use.
    NOTE: The above function calls on other variables and functions are specific to the interaction. The main piece to focus on is the roo.cpInfoCurrentSlide. It had to equal slide 4 in order to allow the interaction swf audio to play. If the user switched, I stopped the savedChannel (named soundChannel variable in AS3) from playing.

    Hello,
    About your suggestion for a book on essentials for advanced actions. Rick Stone has such a book, for Captivate 4 (Goober Guide).  I have been blogging a lot about advanced actions, with links to tutorials published with Adobe Publishing Application. It is not a book, but could perhaps help you if you did not yet visited the blog. The feedback from readers is pretty positive. Here is a link to a post that has a list with the published articles, a lot of other blog posts explain use cases and principles:

  • Import swf / multiply blend textmarker

    Hello,
    I am working on a cap3 project, and I'd like to have a
    textmarker-like effect in an animation. Usually (like in Photoshop)
    this is best achieved by using a signal color like bright yellow
    and use the blending mode "multiply" to the layer beneath. Now in
    Flash 8 they introduced the blend mode to movieclips and it works
    fine in flash.
    But when the .swf is imported to cap3 as an animated effect,
    the blend mode doesn't import with it. Using the transparancy
    option doesn't give satisfying results.
    Does anybody know another method?
    Thanks in advance
    jg

    Hi again
    Ahhhhh, I see now! (said the blind man)
    I'm not sure why, but I was visualizing a "Text Marker" as
    being something that one might wish to add somewhere in the
    timeline to mark a point in time.
    I'm assuming that you don't care for any of the supplied
    effects in Captivate? (Insert > Animation... > browse to
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 3\Gallery\SWF Animation)
    Cheers... Rick

  • Imported SWFs have max slide count?

    I have an animation slide in my captivate presentation.
    On the animation slide is a SWF file (created by Captivate)
    that contains 19 slides.
    When I run the SWF in standalone mode it works fine.
    If I run the new presentation with the SWF imported, the
    animation slide stops after 12 slides are shown in the SWF file on
    that slide.
    Is there any way I can fix this?

    Try extending the play-time of the animation-object and see
    if that helps ...

    Hi there,
      Have you tried reading this tutorial on exporting Edge Animate files to be used in InDesign?
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/digitalpublishingsuite/articles/enhancing-your-dps-folios-with -edge-animations.edu.html
      Edge Animate files can be played in DPS folios. PDFs are not capable of playing Edge Animate files at this time. I did find a work around to get SWF files to play in PDF documents:
