Captivate 5. Jump to slide button not working

I'm using Captivate 5.0.2.630 and I have issues with Jump To buttons as well. My layout is as follows:
Main Menu (with jump buttons to each section prior to the Quiz Question)
Section 1 - Demo slides
Section 1 - Simulation Slides
Section 2 - Demo Slides
Section 2 - Simulation Slides
Section 3 - Demo slides
Section 3 - Simulation Slides
Section 4 - Demo Slides
Section 4 - Simulation Slides
Quiz Slide
Quiz Slide
Certificate
For whatever reason, the "Jump To" button set to jump to Section 4 from the Main Menu will not work. All it does it "Continue". And, please don't tell me I need to change the entire module's quiz settings to Optional. We want the actual Quiz Slides to be required. It's just the rest of the module that the user should be able to jump back and forth freely.

Captivate 4. Jump to slide button not working

Hello.
I have a material that has the following sequence:
Lesson1
Quiz 1
Lesson 2
Quiz 2
Lesson 3
Quiz 3
The problem happens when I click on the button that SHOULD jump to the last Quiz for Lesson 3.
I have changed the slide settings to 'jump to' but everytime, the button leads to me to Quiz 1.
Does anyone have an answer for this particular issue?
I'd appreciate the help. Thanks!

Welcome to our community
Try changing and/or examining the Quiz settings. Likely you have configured things so each question must be answered before proceeding. This blocks any ability to skip over questions to different slides.
You also may be facing a question of Quiz Scope.

On/off slider button not work

My Zen Micro slider button is not working, has anyone ever experienced this problem or know if the issue can be solved without buying a new unit's Everything works fine as far as functionality (sounds like I am lucky on this part so far) but I cannot even clean up, format or reboot since the slider does not work. In order to turn the player on I have to plug it into my computer or to an outlet and it will come on and I can listen to it. To shut it down I have to wait until it idles to shut down or pull the battery out.
If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate the response. The next thing I will be doing is looking for a way to disassemble to try to solve it myself.

Captivate 2.0 Play/Pause button Not Working

Hi,
We are facing a problem in captivate 2.0 file. Due to some
reason the play/pause button isn’t working in the captivate
file. There are few links on a particular screen which goes to
respective slides in the captivate file. Once the learner jumped on
a respective screen then the Play/Pause button is not working. Even
though I keep on clicking the Play/Pause button the Audio is not
stopping, it keeps on playing. When we click thrice on the
Play/Pause button, then the Audio stops.
Could you please help me in resolving this issue?

Exact same thing is happening to mine. It's a conspiracy so we'll all have to buy a new piece of ipod tech. I've been happy with it so far, but now it is just like a pack of gum, but less chewy and no tasty goodness.

Replay slide button not working with slide videos HTML 5

My course built in Captivate 7 contains synchronized slide videos, imported FLVs, progressive download. They are placed on the timeline at 0.5, and end 0.5 second from the end of the slide.
Each slide has a replay slide button with advanced action assigned to it, Expression>cpCmndGotoSlide = cpInforCurrentSlide - 1, Continue. This works fine in SWF output (IE 9), and it allows the user to restart the slide, if the video doesn't load properly the first time, without having to relaunch the course.
However, once I publish to HTML5 and view the course in Safari for iPad iOS 7.0.4, the slide returns to the beginning, but the slide displays "loading", the video never loads, and I'm unable to navigate away from the slide by using the playbar, and so I'm forced to close the browser tab and relaunch the course.
I've created a new project and tested using different video formats (f4v, and mp4), and advanced actions such as Jump to slide, but have not been able to resolve the issue.
Is this a known issue, or is there a workaround for this? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if this is the best solution, but it works in both SWF and HTML5 output.
Because the video begins at .5 on the timeline, I've added a second expression which once the slide jumps to the beginning, it advances to the frame that is 25 frames from the current frame. This causes the slide to replay not from the beginning of the slide (before the video loads), but from just under 1 second in so the video doesn't have to reload.
As I said, this may not be the best solution, but at least the viewer can rewatch the video from the beginning without going back and forth between the slides hoping the video will replay correctly, and without closing the browser window and relaunching the course.

Jump to slide does not work

Hi,
I am working on a captivate project, we have more than two buttons on almost every slide that are triggered to "jump to slide". I tried keeping elearning output as SCORM 1.2 while publishing, to no avail.
I also tried to link two projects using "open another project" and "Open URL or file" but even that does not solve the issue.
Please advise.

Hi again.
I am using a licensed version of Captivate 6.
I had published the project in HTML5 before testing.
Since the 'jump to slide' action was not working, I tried replacing it with 'open another project' and then 'open URL or file', none of which worked as well.
I also observed that when we insert two buttons/click boxes/hyperlinks, having triggered as 'jump to slide', they work fine but as soon as the number increases the problem begins. Strange but true!

HT201412 When will there be a fix to the slider button not working when booting the iPad up

I keep asking this question but as yet have still not been given any constructive advice. I've restored the device more times than I care to count but the slide to open bar remains frozen until the screen goes blank. Only then can I open the device. This only started after the iOS 6 update and 6.1 has not corrected this annoying fault

Try understanding... It is quite simple:
You already have the latest version of iOS. There is no newer version available. If the issue is not fixed in that latest version of iOS that you already have, there is no "new fix".
Even if some iOS developers were here that have beta access to future versions of iOS, they could not tell you if it is fixed, as they are bound by an NDA that prevents public discussion of beta software.
So again, the answer to your question, as I have already stated multiple times is: "No, nobody here knows". That is the only helpful answer to your question that you will get here.

Captivate 7 multi-slide video not working on Android

Hello Adobe staff,
still needing help with this one from my previous question "Captivate 7 event video playback controls not working."
The question has now narrowed down to:
How can I make a multi-slide mp4 video in HTML5 format work on Androids? It works fine on iPad and computer, but Androids will not playback the video, only the audio.

Not all Android versions or Android browsers support MP4.
I suggest you take a look at this page to see which versions do or don't.

If your Android version or browser doesn't support MP4, there's not a lot you can do other than upgrade.

Next Button not Working in Captivate 5

This next slide button was working to advance the slide until I added 2 advance actions. One to show an object with audio attached. The other to hide the object. So three buttons: I with the audio, 1 to play the audio (with advance action) and 1 to stop audio ( with advance action). Everything worked as planned until I tried navigating away from the page

Thanks to you both. I just realized that I had more than one advance action for the same objects. Forgot that I had written one a few days ago and had added another one yesterday. I deleted all the actions and created a new one and the next slide button is now working.

Buttons not working correctly/consistently

I am working with a template that has 5 buttons on each slide Back, Next, Help, Pause, and Play
The Help button is set up to Jump to Slide with the correct target, but for some reason it doesn't work. In fact, sometimes when I click Pause and then click the Help, it actually resumes instead of jumping to the slide.
This is pretty basic stuff, so I am at a complete loss. The only thing I am wondering about is whether the fact that the lesson was originally done in Captivate 5 could be causing an issue.
Here's the way the action is set up.

I have had issues with buttons not working properly in Captivate 4. When it happens, it is completely random and not consistent. To get my buttons to work properly, I usually just exit out, and go back to the project and then they work.
Sometimes it takes me going back the next day for them to work. There's no rhyme or reason to it. The settings are all correct. I don't change a thing. I save, and go back to the project and the button is working all of a sudden. At least that has been my experience the last couple of months.

Sleep/Wake button will not lock or unlock iPhone
To lock the phone, press the Sleep/Wake button. Note: By default, if you don't touch the screen for a minute, iPhone locks automatically.
To unlock iPhone, press the Home button or the Sleep/Wake button, then slide the slider.
If either of the above steps don't work, try turning iPhone off and then on again.
If the iPhone will not power off, reset it.
Try to lock or unlock the phone.

Which version are you using, please the exact number? Exit depends also on the browser, not only on Captivate.

Scrollable frames. Buttons not working.

Hello.
I have a problem with buttons in the scrollable frames.
I have a slideshow with a thumb's. Each thumb consist of MSO (non active icon and active icon) and clear frame - button to that MSO and to slide foto. The thumb's grouped and placed into the frame with horizontal scroll overlay effect.
That frame placed into another frame-pull out tab, which have vertical scroll effect. And when I pressed the button, slide fotos changes correctly, but button MSO not working.

I understand that I can use two 'states' of the buttons. And I tried it. But. Buttons renditions are raster images. And on the retina display we had bad quality. My target was to create vector buttons. With good quality on both displays.
Any suggestions?

It seems that you built your stuff in a very complicated way.
First, try to make simple!
You mixed MSO and buttons functions. Useless and unfonctional.
Yous should use only button panel, with two different 'states' ('Normal' and 'Clic').

Help! Ipad not turning, buttons not working!

My iPad sometimes stops turning sideways. Lock button, lower volume button not working. iPad hasn't been backed up in 20weeks but i don't know if that has to do with any thing. HELP!!!

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"

Issues with getting the slide button to work after upgrade to iOS 7.02 and 7.03

Ever since upgrading to iOS 7.02 and 7.03 having issues with getting the slide button to work to open up iPad 2. Happened last week and was able to restore it to new and get it to work again and it worked great until one week later (this morning) doing the same thing. Have tried restoring iPad to new 3 times (via itunes) and still unable to get the slide button to move so can use the iPad. IPad able to charge, able to restore, able to sync with itunes even able to recover but not able to get past first screen where you have to slide to access iPad. Any help would be greatly appeciated. Live about 300 miles from nearest Apple store.

I am beginning to wonder whether there isn't some weird problem with that Home button.
Try this: Settings > General > Accessibility > AssistiveTouch = On
This will place a button on the iPad's screen.
You can move this button anywhere on the screen.
This button gives you - amongst many other things - a soft Home button.
To turn your iPad on, you can use the Sleep/wake button or move a small magnet across the bezel of the iPad where the volume controls are.
If you use the magnet, then: Settings > General > Lock / Unlock = On
Now should not need to press the Home button anymore.
If this method allows you to use your iPad without a hitch, then suspect hardware problems with the Home button.
