Captivate 5 Text Buttons no longer have button outline/shadow

I've imported a Captivate 4 project into Captivate 5, and the Text Buttons in Cp5 don't seem to provide the button outline or shadow. Here's an image that shows what I start with in Cp4, and what the equivalent is in Cp5:
I've looked all through the Properties window, and can't find a way to get the old button outline and shadow that I used to get for free with all other Captivate versions of Text Buttons.
I need to create buttons with my own text, so the only work-around that I seem to have is by creating an Image Button, then creating text with a transparent background and overlaying it onto the image button, but when I enlarge the image button to fit around the text, it blurs the outline and shadow:
Am I doing something wrong, or is there a problem with my Cp5 installation? Do other people get Text Buttons with button outline/shadow in Cp5? We use buttons frequently when building Captivate projects, and even the Cp5 Image Buttons are not an ideal solution for us, since their default size is much smaller than we prefer, and increasing the size of their image buttons blurs everything:
This is also the problem with using Button Widgets (In addition, Button Widgets don't seem to provide a way to pause without additional ActionScript coding).
But we're less worried about Image Buttons or Button Widgets then we are about Text Buttons. Any help on how to get button outlines and shadows with Text Buttons in Cp5 would be greatly appreciated.

I see a sdescription of how to change the shadow of a button, but I cannot find where to change the shadow properties for buttons. it is nowhere in my Properties window when I have a button selected.
My only options are:
General
Character
Action
Options
Timing
Reporting
Audio
Position & Size
according to the page I referenced, there should be a "Shadow" option between Options and Timing.
Basically I would like to add a drop shadow to a text button when it is in the _over state, or in other words, when the mouse goes over it (no visible button border in _up state, just text)
and I do not want to have to create 200 image buttons in Photochop with three states...

My lock button no longer works on my ipod touch and now i have all kinds of problems with it freezing and kicking me out of apps. Is there any way to get this fixed and were would i go to get it fixed?

Please Help!!!! I have an ipod touch 4th gen. and since the last update the lock button no longer works, this has caused it to have a lot of problems now like freezing all the time, kicking me out of almost all my apps, some times even when if locks on its own its not locked and buttons with be pushed in my pocket, and this causes the battiery to die fast. I really love my ipod and would like to just get it fix if possible for a reasonable about of money. Anyone know of a place I can get it fixed in Ft Lauderdale Fl area or is there something I can do?

Assuming that by buttons your mean the icons for various apps are missing, use the Spotlight search feature (double click the Home button and go all the way to the left past the music controls) and search for: Settings. Go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Screen layout and also correct the time inthe Genera settings.
The Setting app can't be deleted or hidden via Restrictions.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

i feel very concerned, because the work it's hard

I was able to resolve this without support. I identified the slide where the course stopped playing and the ppt from which the slide background was located. Even though the ppt deck in the Captivate library showed that the ppt was to date, I updated the ppt anyway and that resolved the issue.
The course would stop playing at the same slide, and didn't allow me to advance to any slides beyond that slide using the TOC, I simply got a blank gray screen, refreshing the course in the browser caused the course to start over from the beginning and it would stop at the same slide. Refreshing the ppt allows the course to play through and the TOC now allows navigation.

If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key to make the menu bar appear.

Should have read: "In Smart Actions, if I want to lower the notification volume on my phone to 13% when I'm in a meeting it only adjusts the volume for calls - not text or email notifications! What the heck is the point of adjusting your phone volume if it doesn't affect all the notifications!?"

When hovering over button text it does not show button rollover state

I'm new to captivate and I'm looking for some help please. I have created buttons with Adobe Flash and saved them in PNG format, I have created an upState, overState and downState. These are working really well when I use them in Captivate. However when I add text to my buttons and rollover the text the buttons don't change state. They only change state when I hover over the button itself (a bit without the text).
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

No, if you cover up with text, and user clicks on text, the rollover state will not function.
I have another work flow for translation (have tutorials in several languages as well). In previous versions I used Photoshop to create buttons, using layers and having the Text layer separately, so that to translate I only needed to change that layer. But I created the regular Captivate buttons (needing three PNG's for 3 states).
In Captivate 6 I have almost replaced all butons by Smart Shapes used as button. Since the double as text containers, translating is now done in Captivate itself. But those shape buttons do not have a rollover functionality, can cope with that, I opt to show the hand cursor.
Really, cannot help you if you want to stick with Flash buttons that have to be layered under a text caption, unless you make the flash button transparent where the Text has to go, so that you can put the text under the Flash button.

How many buttons can you have in Encore?

I'm trying to make a disc containing about 33 separate clips, all listed in the Menu, and individualy selectable. But I find when I drag buttons to the menu,it will only accept 18, then no more buttons can be added. Is this normal for Encore? Is there an upper limit to how many buttons you can have?

I like to keep my Scene Selection Menus rather clean, and lean, so normally limit the number of Buttons for a "cleaner" look, so with, say 16 Chapters/Scenes, I will likely do 4x Scene Selection Menus, with 4 Buttons each, or maybe 3 Menus with 6 Buttons in two, and 4 Buttons in the last one.
In the Project Panel, you can Duplicate your first Scene Selection Menu, to provide the number of Scene Selection Menus, that you need. I recommend that one Rename each duplicate Scene Selection Menu, so that it is easy to identify each one.
Then, from the Main Menu, add a Button that goes to the first Scene Selection Menu. Do all the linking, for say the 4 Scene Selection Buttons on that, and then add a "Next Menu" Button, that links to Scene Selection Menu # 2. That one will have the 4 Scene Selection Buttons, and the "Next Menu," going to Scene Selection Menu # 3, plus a "Previous Menu" Button, going back to Scene Selection Menu # 1. [Obviously, you can name those Buttons to suit, say "Next," and "Previous," or perhaps just "arrows" pointing to the right for "Next," and to the left for "Back."
If, for instance, one has an odd number of Scene Selection Buttons, on the last Scene Selection Menu, just "Edit in Photoshop," and Delete the "extra" Button Layer Sets.
I also like to add my own Button names in Photoshop, rather than let Encore automatically provide the names per the names of my Timelines. For instance, I name each Timeline in numerical order, so the names will read something like this: "01_Liz_Birthday," "02_Liz_Dance," etc.. On my Scene Selection Menu, I will nave the first Button "Liz's Birthday," the second Button "Liz Dance Recital," etc., without the numerals, that just help me know which Button I will be linking to, in numerical order. I also use Photoshop to edit the Button Layer Sets name, so that Button # 1 is named "01 Liz Birthday." That gives me the numerals in the Buttons' names in my Flowchart - with intricate navigation, that takes all of the guess work out of things - all names match up, and for the Timelines, I do not have any spaces, but do in the Text for each Button. A bit more work, but when it comes time to make my links, I can do it almost instantly, with no questions in my mind. I find that a little bit of preparation at the beginning, simplifies life down the line.

The button's broken. S**t happens. Apple will replace your phone. If in waranty it will be free of charge. If not, you will pay $149.
You can elect to have it repaired at a 3rd party shop near you if you choose, but this will void all warranty if there's any left.
